  1. Thanks - my bruv is trying to offload a set on me which he has on his new Scirroco. Saved me from wasting his and my time - thanks! :notworthy:
  2. http://s647.photobucket.com/albums/uu192/dannyboost/?action=view&current=DSC02768.jpg Would these fit a 1993 VR6 ?
  3. What part number is that? they do a load - half of which are "for track use". Also if seen a few posts where people get shafted on insurance for having an induction kit or is this actually bo11ocks?
  4. Will do and I might need a bit of advice on an induction kit . . . . .
  5. In that case I wil give you a shout a little nearer the time and see if you are still keen for a little cash in hand garage work then.
  6. Are you a recognised VAG service centre then Millerman?
  7. I am in Surrey near Epsom, so anywhere in the Guildford, Croydon, Reigate type areas who know what they are doing - any reccomendations gratefully recieved. I would have a go myself is I wasn't a complete :censored: with things mechanical!
  8. Having just blown a load of cash on a family holiday and trying to forget about three family birthdays and Christmas coming soon, I need to start budgetting for the important things in life - the cost of a major service for the corrado. The car in question is a 1993 VR6 with 72k miles on the clock and very little history. It appears for the last 7 years the car was used regularly but with low annual milage (5k a year?) as the daily run around for a lady and the servicing mainly done by Home Tune. None of the "big ticket" items seem to have been done and although there is no sign of any problems I'm wondering what I should have done at the next service. So experts, can you give me an idea of what and roughly how much? Also any recommendations of somewhere to take it that knows what they are doing? Thanks in advance!
  9. It is a minefield unless you do a load of research. I got stung by being impulsive, bought from pictures and a generous description on eBay. Ended up losing hundreds selling it on as it was too tatty for my requirements and unconciously unleashed some pain on Paul from bradford on this board. Sorry again mate! But I did get me a 72 k VR6 for £3k which with very good body work and general condition and the relatively low mileage I am pretty happy. A couple of decent washes and a bit of waxing and it looks very tidy. Sure it will need a few bits doing on the next service but I have a fantastic car that has everyone talking when they see it and brings a huge smile to my face when I see it on the driveway.
  10. Black 16 valve spotted in Radlett at 8 am by a colleague of mine. He is a petrol head with Porsches, Harleys etc and is looking out for them now that I have mine. He said it looked and sounded great - so if this was you you get a Chufties entry too!
  11. Mrs 4eyes has had a private plate for a few years and changes her car pretty :censored: regularly. It is a bit of a pain to be honest. You have to have all the usual road tax type paperwork (mot, insurance, V5) plus the existing tax disk. You have to take it to one of their regional offices (in our case in Wimbledon) and wait around with the car dealers. You get issued with a temporary tax disk then get sent the proper one at which point you can swap the plates. Generally the car reverts to it's original plate. Bit of a palaver and from memory it costs £80 a pop! There is info on the DVLA (DVLC?) website.
  12. Had the screen replaced and the Autoglass man was admiring the car alot! The usual mix of "Lovely cars these, don't see many around" type comments.
  13. Applied some "Black Trim Wax" to the grey bits that used to be black - things like roof rails (if that's what they are called), door handles, mirror surrounds, door bump strips etc. Makes it look really nice!
  14. This is ridiculus - got the 'rado booked in for an MOT next Monday, started going through the box of receipts and there it is MOT until 29th April 2010. I don't believe it! What a klutz!
  15. Thanks peeps - I guess only having a month left on the MOT is the biggie. I'll get that sorted, comb through the massive pile of history and put together a more detailed history of what has been done and when. Everything seems great with it though - I had a great drive home (120 miles) and everything felt just fine. Cheers!
  16. Went for a drive round and about just because it is fun. Drove both today just to make sure the one for sale is kept ticking over. Washed and waxed them both.
  17. Hello everyone. I've recently bought two VR6s - daft I know - one with 141k and then a week or so later one with 72k. I only need one and so the 141k green one is for sale (on here at http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=84309#p975609and on eBay). So far there has been little (sensible) interest. Have I got the price totally wrong or does it just look too dodgy to buy and sell a car so quickly? I guess it needing an MOT and tax next month makes a bit of difference. If it were to be MOTed and taxed I suppose it would help to encourage interest. Any thoughts?
  18. Bit of advice required please. Got my 72k miles VR6 now and it is FANTASTIC higher up the rev range (where it is meant to be! :luvlove: ) but when dawdling along at low rev (less than 2000 rpm) it can feel a little uneven or hesitant. Is this nasty petrol? Spark plugs and / or HT leads needing replacement? Or just the way things are? If it is spark plugs and leads that would benefit from a change what would a reasonable charge be for such work? Thanks in advance. :salute:
  19. Which guage are we talking about? There is an analogue needle guage on the left of the dash which sits around 90 odd. On the MFA display I get between 100 and 105. :confused4:
  20. Read the manual for the alarm so that issue is over. Waxed the rest of it - boy these things look good when clean and shiny!
  21. Picked up my parents from the airport. They are both over seventy and my mum had to contort herself to get in the back. Both were well impressed with it (I bought it while they were away partly because the Golf I had before was my mum's old car). Mum thought it was better than her old Mk2 Scirocco Storm which she had in the mid eighties! They both loved the noise and surge of power when I booted it to overtake. Then this afternoon I waxed the bonnet, roof and wings and it was well worth it because it is now nice and shiny! Need to work out how to stop the :censored: alarm auto setting itself! This made the waxing a very noisy process
  22. Well, there are a few small issues with the first one that although straight forward for a handy enthusiast to resolve I know deep down I'll either not sort out or make a poor job of. So the first one needs to go to someone with more time and ability. So if anyone is interested in a 1992 dragon green vr6 let me know and I'll sort an advert out.
