  1. MAF Connector seems to be on properly and still got the slight stutter. Car needs to go back to the garage for the following Bit of suspension ABS Sensor Exhaust needs fixing / replacing HT Leads need replacing Look at this problem Another case of open wallet surgery :gag:
  2. I wonder it the blending solution if the really important bit and could be sourced individually? Where are all the 'O'-Level (or even GCSE) Chemists when you need them?
  3. That looks just the thing ! Thanks
  4. Like many on here my C has a number of stone chips. What is the best (cost effective) method of sorting these out? Is it a case of washing and drying the area, getting the touch up paint out and blobbing a bit in, then coming back a day ot so later with the T-Cut to smooth it out?
  5. Wow that looks great. Would love to get mine that shiny!
  6. 5 years ago I got a Tom Tom Go 910 which came with UK and Europe Maps, plays MP3s, store pictures and also hooks up to the mobile for handsfree, even reads texts as they arrive. This can be a bit disconcerting as my brother used to wind me up by texting me rude words so it sounded like Stephen Hawkin having phone sex! It has only let me down once - when it took me to a petrol station that was no longer there, then tried to take me down a bridle path . . . . But overall it has been excellent!
  7. Not much else to say really, very standard, pretty clean. 73k miles, no rust, alarm / immobiliser, ok CD player, Aero wipers, Speedlines . . . .
  8. Thanks chaps -that will give me something to do while Mrs 4eyes and little 4eyes are visiting the outlaws in Pontefract after Christmas. :salute:
  9. I meant no offence - I have seen some EXTREMELY shiny examples - I merely meant I was looking for a clean but standard look. It sounds like oven cleaner is worth a go - I'll mention it to Mrs 4eyes, she is meant to clean things around here
  10. Now that looks nice - would make the rest of the car look a bit shoddy. A bit more bling than I really need to be honest. Would something like Barkeepers friend or doctor Power be worth a bit of elbow grease to lift some of the worst corrosion off?
  11. Saw an ad in the parts for sale forum just now refering to an manifold for sale stating "usual corrosion". Simply question, what is the best thing to clean it with? When I rode a bike everyday, in the winter I used to spray the exhaust headers with WD40 which was always good for a bit of smoke - not something I want to use on the Corrado!
  12. Jag XK for £5500 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1399177.htm
  13. You can get an S2 Coupe for under £5k http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1101591.htm
  14. Thanks Dude - I will have a look. I guess the garage might not have put it back on quite right.
  15. Mass air flow connection - where's that then? :?
  16. Took the C out for a drive on Sunday, after a two or three miles of slow roads (so starting to warm up nicely) I got on the motorway and accelerated through the gears. There was a feeling like a slight stuttering all the way through the rev range on acceleration but this stopped when I was at the desired speed. But when pushing the accelerater it was there each time. No loud noises or lurches. It's just had a new crank sensor, plugs, oil and all the filters as part of a service. The garage did say the HT leads looked a bit manky . . . so I'll get them changed soon. Is this the most likely? or is it any one of a hundred things?
  17. Clean your car have now sold out of those towels . . . .
  18. washed and waxed it then thrashed it over to see my 4 year old godson. Wierdly it felt stuttery all the way up to 80 mph through the gears. It's just had a new crank sensor, plugs, oil and all the filters as part of a service. The garage did say the HT leads looked a bit manky . . . . . My mates wife who knows little about cars outside of the Mercs and Beemers they get as his company cars said "Cool, that has the spolier that goes up when you go fast!" (Chufty!)
  19. Such a shame it was killed because VW couldn't economically fit air con and air bags. We survived perfectly well without the former and although the latter do help they also make lots of low speed accidents in low value cars end up in a write off.
  20. Lusted after the quattro as a school boy and remember Michelle Mouton flying one off a cliff in a rally somewhere :epicfail:
  21. Just been looking up those Optima Yellow batteries - they're 200 quid! Yikes  And found out there are calcium batteries - what's all that about? What's wrong with good old acid?
  22. Just been looking at the Honest John website and the review of the Corrado specifically and it quotes under the bad points of the car They were part of the drug dealers 'uniform', so don't be surprised if low lifes edge up to the car and flash money at you. I never knew that!
  23. Changed the wiper blades today. For some flat ones. Drivers side is fine but the passenger side misses most of the windscreen for about 70% of it's travel. Is this because the new windscreen has a different curvature or just that I need to bend the wiper arm slightly to force the blade into contact?
  24. Hand on it? Looks like he stuck his finger up it the way she shot off the line! :norty:
  25. My crank sensor gave me a problem recently. I could start the thing (as in the spark was fine) but wouldn't stay running. Was diagnosed as crank sensor which when cleaned made the thing work again although still reported an error code on the garage software. So I had a replacement fitted rather than have it work for a little while then fail again. Sensor cost £40, diagnosis and fitting an hour. So a hundred quid it cost me on the itemised bill that included a full service and some new tires . . . .
