I believe the gaps are normal mate.. should be ok still!
-
Hi mate.. just sending you a PM.
-
-
Just another pointless post. Wondered why I was suddenly getting emails telling me I had grades and comments on my car at The Corrado Database - its been made into their random selected Car Of The Week which is cool! :) Should put some other pics up there really!! :)
-
Welcome aboard mate :) Look forward to seeing some piccies!

Fairly recently a chavved up Saxo VTS with 2 passengers. Typical Corrado, as the speed went up I was starting to stretch my legs and reel him in but we came to the next roundabout and I ashamedly took a different direction to save further humiliation. If he'd had no passengers, he would have thrashed me. I take solace in the fact that at 176,000 miles his Saxo will probably be a rusting hulk in a scrapyard somewhere, whereas my Corrado is soldiering on :)

You should notice a heck of a difference when you've changed that little lot.
And yea.. gearbox oil is well worth doing. Just did mine this weekend and stuck in VW's G52 stuff - £6/litre from your stealer. Amazing difference in shift quality.. don't think the crap that came out had ever been changed, such was its colour and stench! :)

I still feel i'm paying over the odds, however HIC were far and away the best price wise for me. And to be able to get agreed valuation for under £20 has to be worth it. Really must send mine off soon.. keep forgetting!!
-
Just looked it up.. around £500 to you sir!! Looks like it contains most of the parts but.. seriously for that price its gotta be worth buying the repair kit and getting stuck in!
-
How about getting some of the less "special" jobs sorted by a normal garage? Stuff like the brakes, samco's, etc..? Could save a few bob..
-
Congrats guys :)
-
I totally sympathise.. I couldn't even contemplate a bill of that size on my car, ever.. £500 and i'm hurting for months!
-
I immediately thought 2k when I saw that little lot.. and then saw that everyone else has said the same sort of ballpark.
If it helps, you've got some time to get saving - spoke to Vince today and he's pretty darn busy for the coming weeks, and given the time it'll take to do all of that.. well, you get the idea :)
-
Bling! :D
-
Its ok mate. Have spoken to Vince and am popping over on Friday for a quick fix! :)

Please do not discuss sharing of the Bentley Manual. We could get sued if the Bentley people were so inclined!
Thanks.
-
Ah good stuff.. will go arrange a visit!
-
richieD - appreciate you're hacked off but please don't post peoples home addresses on here. I've altered your post to remove the address.
Thanks.

Will go and have another look in a bit when the engine bay has cooled off (not long got back from a drive!) - thats quite possible that it might work but i'm not sure if the cable is actually pushing out the back of the plug, or whether its just the pins inside that are a bit knackered.. good suggestion though and I will go and have a look in a bit :)

No point in PM'ing Stevemac on here - he's not the chairman any more.
PM KIPVW - he is the current CCGB chairman, or drop Tempest a PM - he's the events co-ordinator but is on here on a regular basis and could help chase your membership up for you.

Doesn't seem like it mate. It seems that when you push the plug onto the expansion tank, for some reason the contacts in the plug are recessing into the plug a little so no matter how much force you use to put the plug on it just will not clip on. When you look at the connector you can use a small electrical screw driver to pull the contacts back out a little bit but obviously as soon as you try to push the plug on again they're just getting pushed back into the plug. Brilliant!!
Ho hum. Looks like I need to buy a soldering iron then!

Bump :(
Thinking I should probably snip one off a car being broken for parts and then snip the one on mine off, and solder it on and tidy it up a bit / wrap in electrical tape or heat wrap or something?
-
Have you never heard of Google?! Found this on my second search!! :)
-
Hi folks. Hit the search but could not find anything like this problem.
In amongst the various jobs done to my car today, we attempted to fit a new expansion tank. Nice and easy you say, and yes it was.. until I went to reconnect the plug that feeds the flashing warning LED on the dash. Somehow the plug inside is a bit buggered and will not clip back onto the new (or old for that matter!) tank.. so going to need to replace the plug but the amount of cable to play with is rather miniscule and according to Tempest, VW don't sell the tools you need to crimp the cables up inside. So i'm feeling a bit stuck. What the hell can I do about this?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone fancy helping a fellow corrado owner out??

Respect to you mate. Never had the balls to work on my car by myself!
