  1. Front wipers are useless, don't really clear the screen at all

    Front headlights are quite poor to be honest

    Any body got any advice for the last few problems or recommendations?

    - lupo or TT wipers, standard are notoriously crap.

    - uprated loom via relays that power the lights direct, rather than through the light switch - which can catch fire btw.

    do a search on both, plenty of recommendations, wiring diagrams for the lights and sticking an inline fuse on the light switch :)

  2. as above the hub nut is something like 125nm, need the wheels very securely chocked to loosen.

    i actually loosened mine with the front wheels on ramps, but with a length of wood chocked between floor and wheel strut to ensure they didn't turn, the hu nut thread is strandard.

    you can't dismantle the hub or remove the drive shafts without removing the hub nut, but bear in mind as soon as you remove the drive shafts its a new hub bearing and CV gaitor, and you'll need a hydraulic press to push the new bearing in.

  3. If that helps someone to decide whether or not it's worth spending £1500 plus quid ... I thought that was what the Forum was all about!

    Yes it is, thanks for making my point!

    And with reference to this;

    This is not an ad - its a discussion about an ad.

    Internet pedantry is pretty lame :lol:

  4. Agree with others, not a sports car and not the classic shape of one either, i think the designation rides a lot more on looks than feel/ performance. Always a coupe in my eyes, its too small for grand tourer, and its competetors were almost exclusively coupes also - prelude, integra, calibra etc - this is how it was received by the motoring press of the time.

  5. approaches vary, having done quite a lot over the last year this is mine;

    drill and rotary wire for underseal removal, use a copper wire instead of steel as its less harsh.

    take the rust back to bear metal and then i've been using vactan to treat, look it up, gets good reviews.

    then do a primer coat, then apply the rubberised coating that sets - 3M do one or as above.

    if you so wish you can then paint, most the rubbery stuff is grey. if you want to do belt and braces you can then apply a waxoyl or rubberised shulz that remains gooey.

    one thing you need to test is product interface of new/ new or new/ old, some can react with each other.

  6. just very carefully slice the metal crimp that compresses the rubber pipe to the plastic then peel it open - its only a compression seal, then replace the rubber pipe - wit iirc 7mm - fuel pipe from halfords using a proper fuel clamp fixing which compresses evenly.

    i replaced all my fuel pipes this way, no leaks and peace of mind.
