  1. is there anybody interested in the 17" x 7.5". i have asked about 17" x 8" aswell and the man says if you can get 10 peolple interested he will do them at the same price mentioned at the begining of this thread. this is a good offer which ever size you go for, i can't believe there isn't more interest.

  4. not sure I'll ask, but I think you'd be better off with the 7.5", cerb rash, even slight is near impossible to avoid with 8"
  5. This comes about after ringing them up to see if I they did a 17" x 7 1/2" the same shape as in the last group buy. Turns out they are just finishing a mould and are up for offering us a group buy for their first run of them. The wheels full retail price is £210.00 each plus delivery, plus vat with 10 sets of 4 wheels sold to forum members, we can have them for £130.00 plus delivery plus vat thats £664.80 delivered 50% deposit up front you can choose colour from their list, Black, Gold, Silver, White, Grey Anthracite 4 or 5 stud choose your ET can advise on callipar clearance. delivery usualy 28 days form order/deposit/production start those are my 17 X 8's in the photo, the wheels in this offer will look the same as those in the photo. Here's the thing, closing date for the offer is mid december unless we have a rush, and we need 10 people to commit I want a set, so 9 more names required. What do others think

  10. i think alot of cars on the market need money spending on them, the owner grows tired of spending or runs out of funds to spend with. myself, i am inbetween bouts of spending. i've tried to restrain myself for the last 6 months while i take stock, respray next i think and all the bists of rubber and plastic that go with that, fortunately not touched the engine yet bar, a service and a sensor and rolling road says 2 horses have run off, so i'll leave that alone for now. like 4eyes says when you get to the bottom of the major stuff you can just fix little things as they come up or when your ready.   13. i would try somebodies set up if you could, befor you bought because there is that much choice, and what people can bare as comfortable, obviosly depends on the individual. i for instance have fitted gaz fast road shocks, and i thought with them set on fairly soft setting, not softest, lowered a bit when on 15" speedlines, felt like origional. when on 17" stretched a little coilovers hardened up, your spine want to go nthrough the top of your head, so with neverything there is a balance, its finding it, but at least with coilovers you can alter the height and the ride comfort to fine tune the ride.what et are your rear wheels

  15. mpg doesnt sound a mile away clunking on lock could be cv joint or maybe somethings that worn that somethings catching antirole bar linkage.Spoiler mehinism sounds like it needs taking to bits, stripping and cleaning, which is quite easy once you pull youre finger out, if you leave this without action the relay or switch may give up. Have you had the oil and water pumps off to check their condition. hope that helps, good luck dont forget to let us know how you get on

  17. you neead to greese the handle mech up and then lock mech attatched to the door then, ajdust the the door pin with a 15mm spanner. should be like new in 10 mins ---------- Post added at 08:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:01 PM ---------- i put new pins on mine from the dealers, didnt cost much. worked a treat
  18. the other weekend I said to my 12 year old daughter " I'll take you to the pictures this afternoon" she replied " are we going in your shed" I bit my lip and siged, "yes love" she just doesnt understand its because its not new, all the time screaming in my head was going on "its nooooooooooot aaaa shed" bless
  19. VW part no. is 3A1862531 0C1 (the last three digits denote colour, in this case OC1 is black). A new one will take some finding and cost some i imagine. i bought one last year, found a dealer in ireland who had it on the shelf for years. it cost £50.00 delivered. but very usefull and I think doesn't look out of place.
  20. compomotive 8" x 17" on goodyear eagles, 215 x 40 x 17" rear 640mm floor to arch 350mm hub to arch (3,1/2 fingers) front 625mm floor to arch 340mm hub to arch (two fingers). On Gaz fast road coilovers. Could come down more without rubbing, but theres a wicked road near us that I just cant resist and if i lower more that road becomes a 30mph to avoiud rubbing the fronts or different wheels, but I like them wheels. so it sits about 10mm high atm. You cant have everything
