Hi, choose carefully.

try typing in the search there are few common problems. but i found if the underseal underneath is pretty good and bolts, main suspention bits arnt rusty as hell rubbers look good, drives nice and it doesnt smoke more than me, then have another look at it, any different, then get your wallet ready to part more cash than you thought.
-
look for blistering under the window rubber, or lumps under the rubers especialy windscreen. have real good look underneath, be very wary if nothing looks like its been touched for years and sat outside
-
my spelligs getting worse or my fingers fatter
-
i put a little vaselene on one of the door top rubbers and nothing on the other, needless to say the one i lubbed a bit went on a lot quicker and fitted better than the one i didn't. i also got them pushed in near the mirrors well got them something like then pushed thenm down trying to sort of roll them at the same time, at times pushing them harder than i was comfortale with considering the cost, but once they are nearly fitted you can be fairl brutal while doing the pushing without messing them up. thought it would be eady when i p[icked them up last week but like you found, what a pid and dont your thumbs hurt when youve finished ?

i got a 1999 m3 when i got rid of my last vr6 6/7 years ago and i have to say i consider that the biggest financial blunder in my life, there was some bad luck involved though and dealersip problems like a servicve II costing £1000 without parts vanos unit £1000 etc etc........thats's what i found. But dont get me wrong when it wasn't being fixed and raping my wallet i loved it, enough was enough though

i had this for six months on my last corrado -intermittant cutting out- and had to wait until it got real bad before i could chase it down. in the end it was two problems first was ignition barrel and switch, then took relays out and tested them with 12 volt supply until found the one that was working intermitantly under/in the drivers footwell. Once those items were changed it never missed a beat. i thought there was problem in the footwell because i found that when it died if i took my foot off the accelerator and gave the bit of footwell where the relay live, a little kick more often than not it would fire up again befor i came to a stop. lifesw a beach

hi thanks for the hello's the cup holder is an idea off an old thread, its an accessory for a pre 95 passat, I think. any way the VW part no. is 3A1862531 0C1 (the last three digits denote colour in this case OC1 is black). but like i say I had a bit of a job tracking one down, eventually finding one in northern Ireland, good luck. I found my car in the auto trader but had to go to the tip of Cornwall to pick it up, 358miles there and the same back, just pleased it was worth the trip down there, it waqs on its third owner, he'd had it fifteen months and tidied the outside up a bit, but done nothing inside from what i could tell. He bought it off an old dear who'd had it from new on her 50th birthday but had registered it twice i think something to do with her blokes business. so I was told, but the paper work seemed in order and looking around the car it id have bought it with no paperwork it seemed that genuine. time will tell.

just got my 3rd corrado, given myself a right kicking over the last 6/7 years for letting the last one go m---jdv. my new purchase has got a few problems but nothing serious I think/hope, its blackberry full black leather vr6 70k miles. One problem was with electric mirrors but traced that to a faulty door switch, managed to prove it by stripping and cleaning internals, put it back togethertested the switch and they fired to life so ordered a new switch today. if everything fixes as easy as that im laughung also got me a new passat cup holder by ringing a dealer in ireland mad! I hadn't realised until friday just gone, that spairs are like hens teeth. The last time i owned a vr6 it was the cost of the spares that made my heart sink, now its like some sort of treasure search with a big bill at the end. Still it's great to be behind the wheel again of a propper car and ive got a cup holer this time. take care all
