1. The thermostat cover is still available and in stock at the main UK depot - so next day delivery to your dealers. £6.02 +vat (RRP). Picked mine up today. The ABS pipe bulkhead clip I ordered online from VW heritage in their VW classic parts section. It was £1.61 with £3.95 delivery and a few weeks turn around time. :bonk:
2. I have both of these now. I ordered the bracket from VW Heritage and then the thermostat cover was just over a fiver at VW.
3. Where did you buy it from? Do you not think 10w60 will be too thick around town and cause issues with higher temps?
4. I'm trying to source / find some info on the French style yellow bulb caps. As seen here: There is info and loads for sale over in the US. But nothing here in the UK. Grrr!
5. Very good price. I'm 29 and I'd struggle to get better than that.
6. They are obsolete from VW. Available from classic parts here: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_vwclassicParts.search_classicSearchText_357611797D_lang_EN_country_GB.htm But at a 2-3 week wait. I can order one of these but I just wondered if anyone has one knocking around for a faster option. No problem. I broke mine getting it off. I then repaired it with glue then I painted it.. Then melted it curing the paint with a heat gun. What a 'tard I am. :bonk:

VR6 Coil Pack

Got two. One genuine. One Beru. Both excellent and fully working.
11. I'm after a nice new VR6 brake reservoir to replace my yellow one :awesome: VW want £80+ for a new one with cap.. No thanks. Are there any alternatives or cheaper options?

Heater controls

Thirded. The late heater styles do look nicer and a more modern, but they are crap. Stick with the early.

Scammer alert

Mr Woodward. What a ****. I'd love to punch him in the vagina.
14. Someone beat me to it! Booo! Thanks for the offer though :)
15. I'll take the splitter. PM'd
16. Well, It's funny you should post that as I did find an old post with that part number, but I've actually tried those and they are different - They are proper speed nuts with a thread for the self tapper and are used to secure the fog lights in position. The headlights ones are as Jim's said; effectively just washers - they don't have a thread, just an elongated hole. I'll try and get some pictures for comparison. Yeah, that's the problem, they are strange and not a standard part. I think they are to act as washers and also to strengthen the plastic tab on the headlight. The original metal clip has a bent tab which holds it securly to the headlight too.
17. I've looked at EKTA online (VAGCAT) and I can't find anything either. They are bizarre as they don't actually hold anything like normal speednuts, it's just a clip with a hole all the way through. I think they must be the strengthen the plastic on the headlights?

Harlem Shake

You dirty perv! Haha! :awesome:
19. I'm trying to source some headlight clips, specifically these: I've tried my local dealer and TPS and they can't find the part number, can anyone tell me the part number or alternative places to buy them? Thanks
20. nice to know man! £12 for a new switch.. You can't go wrong! :)
21. I just think my issue is that I really check T&C's over with a fine tooth comb, and if it's not what I want or what I was sold I'll go else where. A lot of people don't do that; they just presume what they have been sold is literally what they are getting - but it doesn't work like that. I learned the hard way with car insurance and I won't make the same mistake again.
22. Update on this: Adrian Flux eventually (after numerous phone calls to them) cancelled my policy and refunded my full deposit. Great. But the way they handled the whole situation was so poor; defensive and calculated in such a way it reminded me of large companies who have obvious procedures set up with the aim to make it difficult to retrieve refunds. Very poor when they portray an image of being part of the enthusiast community - their attitude was so far from their marketing ideals I won't trust them ever again (as my previous post, this is just my interpretation of facts and say this without prejudice). Anyway, the good news; I finally insured my car with Sky Insurance, it wasn't the cheapest but they went above and beyond to please me; not only with Ollie's helpful responses on here but also the chap Luke I dealt with over the phone. The whole experience felt like I was speaking to like minded enthusiasts who really wanted to help; something which has been missing from the marketplace for a long time. Well done guys! I have an agreed valuation, a low excess, I'm using my NCB and I can drive other cars. Everything I wanted at a price I was happy to pay.
23. I know. I've been looking for ages! My 90mm literally can't get up my drive without splitting a tiny bit each time.. I've not seen Pettsy for years either so I'll get a good catch up with him. :)
