Please help! Can't get into my Corrado!
seanl82 replied to Davidjhopkins's topic in General Car Chat
I did the same once, but called a pro as I didn't want to scratch my paintwork getting the wire down to the pin. Guess what, he scratched the shiz out of the paint at the edge of the roof/top of the door shut. Grrrrr! -
Really? Where from?

It would have to be a real stinker for £200 to be fair. £400 is a good price for a G60, even with a duff charger. Thats the main expense on the car anyway, so if its ok then thats a bargain! A lot of the exterior trim is obsolete or quite expensive, although most things you should be able to get for a reasonable price second hand. Plenty being broken on here and on ebay. Its an excellent car if you do decide to go for it. I'm sure your son will love the active rear spoiler, and that alone is worth the extra £200!!!

Just clicked through your members gallery Ian. Some larger pics here when you first fitted the B12s. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=50830&p=1012791&viewfull=1#post1012791

Not good enough, no mention of bacon sarnies!

If the filter has been over oiled its possible. The newer types are oil-less so much safer.

Thanks Mic, should be a good day on the dyno.

If you can get to the element by removing the casing, then you should be able to clean it. I successfully cured one that was seriously bogging down at 3k rpm by cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner and cotton buds. Just be very gentle, and make sure there are no bits left on the element afterward.

What are the details of the car. You've obviously had a good innings with it, and although inevitably people come to a point when they think its time to sell, a surprisingly large number of people return and get another later down the line. Its nice sometimes to have a break, then reignite the love at a better point in your life. If you need the money at this point in your life, you've got to remember its only a car. If your financial situation improves in a few years, I'm sure you'll find another with a bit of searching and with a bit of time. Good luck whatever you decide.

Fair enough mate.

Haha! Sorry Dave! Any update Chris? -
http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=89863 Already in the wanted section, any need for it here too?
-
The chrome ones are correct for the year anyway. Red ones were only used in 92 and 93 iirc.
-
Don't think I have any sympathy for you Chris! I think it's on the ramps for a pretty exciting reason or 400!

Is Ron (Hofmeister) still running the charger? I'm stuck in the middle with my measly stock abv, of a load of 24v and charged Corrados if so! I don't want to change it, but I don't want to feel left out and disappointed afterward!
-
Welcome back to the Corrado fold!
-
OK thanks, seems I have been worrying over nothing. Sorry to clog your thread!
-
Haha, good to hear. Spared you a few blushes if you went back questioning their workmanship! Lol

How easy/difficult is it to DIY lap in the valves? I've got a spare head that I wanted to recon before swapping it in for mine, and I'm just worried I'd create a worse seal than before! I want to give it a go though so I can say I've done the whole car myself, minus the head skim and probably honing the bottom end when I get round to that.

Average this time of year around 92 - 102. Does the rest of the live data work? Ie: oil on mfa setting 2, mpg, distance travelled etc..... Oil temp first displays at 50 as mentioned above. Should take 5 minutes or so to get there.
