  1. The chrome ones are correct for the year anyway. Red ones were only used in 92 and 93 iirc.
  2. Don't think I have any sympathy for you Chris! I think it's on the ramps for a pretty exciting reason or 400!
  3. Is Ron (Hofmeister) still running the charger? I'm stuck in the middle with my measly stock abv, of a load of 24v and charged Corrados if so! I don't want to change it, but I don't want to feel left out and disappointed afterward!

    :-)

Welcome back to the Corrado fold!
  5. OK thanks, seems I have been worrying over nothing. Sorry to clog your thread!
  6. Haha, good to hear. Spared you a few blushes if you went back questioning their workmanship! Lol
  7. How easy/difficult is it to DIY lap in the valves? I've got a spare head that I wanted to recon before swapping it in for mine, and I'm just worried I'd create a worse seal than before! I want to give it a go though so I can say I've done the whole car myself, minus the head skim and probably honing the bottom end when I get round to that.
  8. Average this time of year around 92 - 102. Does the rest of the live data work? Ie: oil on mfa setting 2, mpg, distance travelled etc..... Oil temp first displays at 50 as mentioned above. Should take 5 minutes or so to get there.
  9. I think what Jon was getting at, is the lock in the correct key position? I think in one position it remains locked regardless of if the central locking is activated.
  10. Have a look in the suspension discussion thread. It's obviously down to opinion, but people have posted their preferences in there, including the B12. No going back with regard to ride height is the only thing.
  11. I did the same. I'd already bought a replacement but when I removed what I thought was the original, it had date stamps of manufacture from 2008.
  12. You shouldn't need sealant, in addition to the large outer seal there's a smaller one where the thread is before you bolt it on.
  13. I've always found it quicker and easier to remove the drive shaft completely. Saves the possibility of cocking up your steering geo too.
  14. Looks great! Just bought the B12 kit myself, should be fitting it mid Feb so I'll report back in the relevant thread. FWIW, I had a ride in a C with the B12 kit, and although on standard wheels, it rode superbly. Having seen a couple running 17" wheels also, it looks reasonable to me too so thats why I decided to go with these over the KW V1 coilovers, which I was umming and arring over. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back to bite me in the arse though!
  15. Paintwork looks cracking! Nice wheels too but a beeatch to keep clean!
  16. I put a slight smear of oil on mine to aid fitment. Its difficult, but persist with light pressure. Don't try to force them like I did, and broke one of the tips that then fell into the chamber. Luckily I had a spare set, and my engine was on a stand so I turned it upside down and it fell out!
  17. I got a Hella one from GSF about 2 years ago. Was similar price to what Dox has said for the "Premium" (Hella) one. Valeo made the original and they are still available in various places. Do a search if you want to find where from, they're similar price to the Hella one from GSF. Incidentally, Hella are a good quality brand and fit is spot on anyway.
  18. Trouble is, if they do return it to a roadworthy state at your demand, it'll still be accident categorised. That'll have a negative affect on insurance, and should you decide to sell in future, retail value. Better off taking the cash, buying the car back as the write off and either repairing it yourself, or taking the good bits off and selling/keeping, then scrapping the shell. When my valver was written off, I bought it back for £34.20! I took some of the good bits off and sold them, then sold the rest as a breaker for £175. I got £1300 odd from the insurance company, and made around £400 from the parts I removed. Better to have the 2k to buy a good one later...............although it didn't pan out like that in my instance!
  19. Also interested in the abs light if it's the older 2 row connector Chris?
  20. If they offer you a price your not happy with, email them a link to that one on auto trader. Don't accept it if you think it's low. Have a look on the forums and compile evidence of similar cars to yours and show them how much they're advertised for.
  21. Ok bud, let me know if it comes off OK. Cheers.
  22. Yeah both please mate. How much are you looking for it all? Cheers dude!
  23. Chris, do you have a bonnet cable and trumpets in working order? If so, how much you after mate?
  24. I got the B12 kit, B8 dampers with Eibach springs. Had a mental argument with myself whether to get KW V1 coilovers, or these as they're fixed height. In the end and after having a ride in a Corrado with these fitted, and seeing them with both standard and 17" wheels (which I have), I decided these would be perfect for what I want. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCEQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.demon-tweeks.co.uk%2F&ei=VZbCVKzwAsm07gbAzIA4&usg=AFQjCNF2SIWUf229wuV5HDOGT6ynoZkKWg&sig2=85IfVQGWRSSVpObzhwRCcw http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/suspension-kits/car/volkswagen/corrado-vr6/1993/2-9/eibach-b12-pro-kit-suspension-kit-with-bilstein-b8-dampers-lowers-front-25-30mm-and-rear-25mm-2
  25. I got them from Demon tweeks Paul. Have a look a few pages back, Sean jaymo mentioned the cheapest place to get them there. The company didn't come up in my search for sourcing them so missed it.
