  1. I didn't buy them James! Wish I could afford to though!
  2. Yeah apart from seats Rob. Roof lining, pillars and door cards need to come out for access to Windows, mirrors, sunroof etc. I rushed it in for national day anyway tbh, and I wanted it back out as I have some felt to line the joining parts. I'm a dab hand at it now, it's been in and out so many times!
  3. Congrats on the quick sale Daren! Well worth the money too!
  4. Thanks Rob. Funnily enough, yes my scuttle has been bonded down in the past! I'll get a set ordered now for when I fit the scuttle back after paint. Cheers mate!
  5. Sorry Sean I've just Seen the post. Nylon coating is just a harder wearing powder. I'd recommend it for underbody bits as it'll resist the chipping and light scratching you'd normally get under there, which with paint or standard powdercoating will still allow rust to form and rot from inside out. It's a little more expensive than normal powder, but worth it imo. It's not available in as many colours as standard either, but that shouldn't make a difference if it's only standard black you want.
  6. Thought my ears were burning James you cheeky chappy! Tbh, I don't think I've ever seen those clips so I've no idea what they're for! They do look like the ones that spread the legs when you insert the pin though. Not sure where the lips sits tbh........
  7. Not worth it mate. You won't feel any difference at all anyway in 90% of driving conditions.
  8. Now now James, I don't wear a dress...................well, only for ****s and giggles!
  9. I've got nothing to come back with to this  Except I'm not an Avionics Tech, I'm a Weapons Engineer.
  10. Now you're missing it James, its SeanL82. Sean, you should have used more. How does crab fat grab you for a name change? :bonk:
  11. Got a call from the wheel refurbishers today. After being blasted, they noticed a crack in one of the wheels. They sent me an MMS pic but I cant work out how to upload it. Thats another £70 I hadn't planned for! :mad2: So I consoled myself by dropping a few parts off for black nylon coating, then nipping down to Darens (Harrier) to pick up the BMC CDA, and I also bought his 288mm brake setup too. I couldn't afford the KW V1s, or the Recaros though unfortunately. :( Oh well, I'm happy with my interior now (although not a patch on his), and I'll hopefully be able to get a Bilstein B12 setup next year. Most of the way through the strip down now. Need some fishing line which I'll get tomorrow to take the rear badges and possibly the rear number plate tub off. Just the wing mirrors, aerial, and sunroof out, then she's pretty much ready! I'll probably fit the brakes and BMC before it goes for paint so its all pretty much ready for MOT as soon as its out.
  12. Should have use thread lock Sean...............
  13. Yeah they're suitable for late and new mate.
  14. Yeah sorry James, dont mean to tread on anyones toes. Tbf, if they were posted on here first, I may be able to resist as I'd actually think about it. Being there in the flesh though, well, lets just say that temptation is sometimes too hard to resist when its on a plate in front of you!!
  15. Don't post em up til I've seen whats going on Saturday Daren! :nono: Only joking mate, look forward to seeing what is available though. I'll PM you now regarding Saturday mate.
  16. Sounds like a bargain to me mate!:thumbleft:
  17. Try classic policies Bobby. Classicline who I was with previously were extremely good for a limited mileage policy. This year I've gone with Adrian Flux (they are actually brokers) and a 4k policy was £198. Worth shopping around mate. The good thing about classic policies if you can get it on that, is that a lot of classic cars are imports anyway.
  18. Damn, knew I should have bought more sets of the fuse box clips, set just sold on ebay for £21 plus postage!
  19. Any time mate, I'll do my best to help. :thumbleft:
  20. It does indeed Rob. Still waiting on my fairly big order from Heritage too. Just a few bits to go off for powdercoating then should be pretty much done.......apart from the brake upgrade I want to do. I was gonna buy a mk3 Golf breaker for the Teves20 ABS system as well, but I'm having second thoughts now, so may just try to source a few parts and try to get mine working properly.
  21. Received my order from ARZ tuning today. Only ordered it Sunday night so very impressed with the service!. Did cost a fair old whack postage though, and I know what I ordered, I just suppose you expect a bit more when it cost so much! :( In other news, wheels are now in with the refurbishers. Another shock at how much it cost me! Its the only place I could find in the county with a good reputation though, even if it is a major franchise.
  22. Lightening will improve the rate at which revs climb due to lowering the point of inertia. This can have a detrimental effect on torque though. In all honesty, you wouldn't really notice much if any loss on a standard vr. Balancing as said is just for smoothness at high revs. Again, unless something is amiss from the manufacturing process, you wouldn't really notice any difference. It all sounds good on paper, but in reality, unless you have a super high revving high speed car, it's a bit pointless and a waste of money just to impress your mates down the pub....... Ohhh, be interested to hear about the waterless coolant actually. Don't think anyone on here has actually tried it have they?
  23. Do they? I thought if you used the mk3 calipers you had to source the bolts elsewhere....... I emailed c&r yesterday as it happens, they've updated their website and the hoses don't appear anywhere. They still show certain sets on their ebay site though. Just waiting on a reply, as I want the stainless ended ones, with standard rears and the black sheath they used to offer on the website.
