I think those are second hand glass with seals they're selling for that price Matt. Mine are in decent shape so hoping that doesn't need doing. My list from heritage includes scrapers, door aperture seals for both sides, and tailgate seal. ARZ I've got Mirror base seals, sunroof seal, emblem grommets, and a few other bits and bobs for the interior like fuse cover clips and little bits like that. Heritage comes in at £360, and ARZ is 140 euros plus shipping which is 30 euros. Think I may leave the tailgate trim though at £105, as its not really essential. I do need a drivers outer door seal though but may have to get a used one as I can't find any new. Mine is split a little on the verticle part. Anything you think I may have missed or that you have? I've already got replacement Corrado and VR6 badges to go on the back in good condition, and the roof aerial seal was replaced not long ago so that should be fine. Only thing I'm worried about is the rear number plate tub. Mines been painted in the past so its obviously already been off the car, and I don't know what state it'll be in when I take it off this time. Think I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.........

Welcome, looks very nice! Gliptone leather cleaner, and conditioner too are a good bet. Will restore and feed the leather leaving it soft and supple. :thumbleft: -
Oh sorry! I did look round but weren't sure who you were to ask if it was ok, I was very gentle though! lol
-
Did the grilles fit back over when fitted? Good to know if so, cheers. :thumbleft:

Who's that really good looking chap in the background on the first pic........:smug: (No not Rog!) Car looked great, can't believe how light that Carbon bonnet is too. :thumbleft:

The expansion tank is just two prongs. The water obviously completes the circuit. When the water drops below the level of the prongs, it becomes open circuit and triggers the dash illumination. I think there must just be a batch of poorly made tanks by the sound of it. Mine didn't do it straight away, it only started happening last weekend. I looked at the connector you suggested today Chris, but my pins are both the same length. I think it must be the connection between the pins and prongs that are at fault. Mine is also intermittent. It seems to either come straight on at switch on, or not at all. I'll take it out next weekend when it comes off the road, and get tps to replace it.

I went with ERB who you recommended actually Martin. The other place was Airport bodyshop in Fareham. Not much in it, but instinct told me to go with ERB. Mines coming off the road this weekend Matt. MOT is due Monday but I want to put my 288mm brakes on first and then begin prep in plenty of time so I know what other things I need to order. I'll get the Mot done on completion. I've already got a list for close to £500 between Heritage and ARZ tuning though!

Did you advertise it anywhere else Chris? Just wondered if it was staying within the forum. Shame to see it saunter off to the midst of e38 or something............

Haha! Congrats on the quick sale, and securing of the new one Chris, really looking forward to seeing it this!

Corrado Part Duex - 24V Aqua Blue - She's gone.

Looking good Sean. I was planning on doing this and even bought the handbrake, until I remembered that the original had been welded to within an inch of its life so would take an enormous amount of grinding to get it off. I did bugger all today by the way, apart from watching Frozen with my 6 year old daughter! Been feeling sorry for myself after a few too many last night! -
Are these not the ones on ebay, as I'm the current high bidder.
-
As above. I bought the eBay copy and it fits perfectly. Been on since the middle of December and no problems what so ever.

Did VW actually loose money on the Corrado or ?
seanl82 replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
Its release coincided with record high at the time fuel prices, and that buzz word again, recession! That coupled with the fact it was very expensive for the time, meant it was destined to fail tbh. I'm sure they wanted to sell far more, but realised after the 6-7 years it was on sale that it was due a facelift/upgrade so it just wasn't financially viable unfortunately. I don't think they'd release a new one like they've done with the Scirrocco either. The Rocco was more widely known, and covers the coupe market for VW. I think the only avenue VW have not explored yet, is something to compete against Audi R8, ie the affordable supercar market. The fact that Audi are obviously part of VW though, means thats pretty unlikely. -
What design features of the Corrado keeps it so "upto date"?
seanl82 replied to Mawrick's topic in Off-topic Chat
I was actually drawn to the front. I've said it a few times, but I couldn't tell you what a Corrado was 3 years ago. I bought a mk3 Golf s because I was bored in work and had a lot of free time on my hands, so needed a project. It was on the way to a local forum meet that I fell in love with them. There was one following me up the A38 and I couldn't keep my eyes off the rear view mirror. Almost rear ended a few people that day I tell you! The fact its also got a great arse, and beautiful sweeping lines from head to tail, all make it timeless in my opinion as well. Amazing from any angle, and never fails to make me look over my shoulder, even almost 3 years after buying my first. -
Pretty sure all late cars came with space savers, although there were probably a few crossover models that came with a full sized spare, and the humped carpet. Yours being a 95 model (assuming your sig), it should have a space saver and flat carpet.
-
Which model? There are 3 in total. Front, rear right, and rear left (gearbox) mount. Pretty sure they're all available from the dealership still, but sit down before speaking to them about how much they are!! Alternatively, Vibratechnics mounts are very good, although still quite expensive for all three. Depending on application will determine which type (competition or fast road) you should go for. There are some cheaper options from the likes of ECP/GSF/Ebay etc, but don't expect them to last long, although they are pretty cheap. I've just replaced mine on my VR, and went for competition front mount, and fast road rear and gearbox. I bought them from C&R enterprises and got forum discount which came in at £300 posted. Hope this helps mate.

Corrado Part Duex - 24V Aqua Blue - She's gone.

....................... It has nothing to do with them being BBSs James, I'm not the sort that gets blinkered by a manufacturer. I just think they look awsome on a Corrado. I understand if you wanna go for something else though Sean. Its your car and your taste after all mate. -

The clips for the lamp holders were broken too mate. I found a note from the postie saying he had left them in the back garden. Went out and he'd obviously thrown them over the 7ft wall so they weren't great anyway. I'll probably get another set and have a go again if I can find a bargain set on ebay. For now though, it's time time make a definitive list of trim items I'm going to replace which isn't cheap!
-
I know what you mean James. I know some people hate green cars, but I love this colour so I don't wanna mess with it tbh. I know it's probably not gonna be exact, but it should be close enough. When is your being painted Matt? You've got the jump on me with stripping it all down, but I think your sanding as well aren't you?
-
Cheers all, I'm off on my hols on the 3rd so that'll take some of the wait off. He said it'll take 2-4 weeks. James, staying the original colour cos its a uuuummmmmm Storm.....................
-
Which tint did you use James? Mine looked pants when I did them, came out a candy looking colour which I didnt like, so ended up just binning them.
