  1. It was a chopper like this that scuffed my wing the day before National Day mate. You have to make allowances for these type of imbeciles unfortunately. :mad2:
  2. They look cracking James! Did you Diy them? Top job if you did mate, well impressed! :thumbleft:
  3. Well, just got back, and I'm very excited!! Car now booked in for full windows out respray on the 1st August. It came down to two garages after having recommendations, and reading online reviews on both. Both priced around the same, but the one I went with seemed a little more professional. Their workshop was in a cleaner state, and the fact they had a Ferrari F430, Aston Martin DBS, Volvo P1800, and a BMW Isetta Bubble as well as a few other in kind of sealed it. The Isetta and a T2 camper were back to bare metal, so they do lots of proper restos which is good. I need to strip the exterior plastics and trim, but other than that I'm good to go. Cant wait! :smug:
  4. Personally, I think he over-reacted and was a little childish about it. :|
  5. Looks very nice indeed! I like the straddling of two parking spaces to keep it that way too! :thumbleft:
  6. I'm starting to worry now, I'm sure there's been a Vectra cruising slowly up and down my street lately too.................
  7. That's for the 16v Fay, no metering head on the VR to adjust.
  8. Cant wait for mine to be in this position, off for quotes and hopefully book it in tomorrow!

Thanks Kev. just curious as to mounting arrangements is why I asked mate.
  10. Welcome! More and more of you guys from across the pond are joining our wonderful community, which just goes to show how helpful this forum is at the moment! If you have a look in the wiki section, there's a buyers guide and some 'how to' articles for common problems. I'd suggest for spares availability, it's worth joining vwvortex as it's primarily US owners on there, however the forum itself is apparently pretty dead. Corrado Club of Canada also has some good guides which I find very useful. Get some pictures of the car up if you can, always good to see others from around the world! :thumbleft:

Anyone got a pic of this fitted to a Corrado, I'm intrigued!
  12. From what I've heard, JMR have a very good reputation for G60s. No idea about anything else, but I'm sure they will be more than capable on anything else.
  13. Not the one we were talking about at Bruntingthorpe is it Chris? :silent: Fair asking price imho too mate.
  14. ARZ tuning in Germany have a yellow fog but for one side only. They were for the French Market iirc, so worth looking on ebay.fr or trolling for french companies that may sell them.
  15. Matt paint is probably your best bet. I think any chemical stripping would probably discolour the plastic. Harsh scrubbing would also likely damage the texture to the point of it being junk tbh. You should be able to get a replacement grille for around the £30 delivered mark though.
  16. If your after a Classic Green Storm Chris, I'd reluctantly agree to a straight swap............:thumbleft:
  17. Probably still out of budget! If we could get another dozen or so people, I'm in mate!
  18. That would be the wife too Sean! Her idea, so I'll hopefully be a happy boy! Although there is a nice little blackberry just popped up. May be a bit out of my budget though!
  19. Wtf Chris! I didn't see that coming! :(
  20. Not really about my car, although still going perfectly with the exception of the coolant warning light having come on today, even though the level is perfect. That's a brand new genuine expansion tank too. Anyway, back to the reason for posting. My missus has just got a new client who she visits at home once a month. Her first visit on Friday, and there was a sherry pearl sat on axle stands in the garden! Did a drive by last night, and it's obviously been there a while. No idea what flavour or year it is as it has a reiger grill, and weeds had grown up so high they were obscuring the number plate. Missus reckons the bodywork is actually very straight though and seemed to be in decent nick, but it's obvious it's been sat quite a while. Next time she is there she's going to enquire as to whether it's for sale, so I may have a new addition!
  21. I'll have the handbrake cover posted please! Pm me your details and how much for postage and I'll get it over to you straight away. Cheers bud!
  22. Cheers for replies so far guys. Rog, you make a very good point actually, and it's something we have spoken about. We tend to get bored after about a year, and she won't take care of it properly guaranteed! We had a mk5 Gt Tdi about 4 years ago which we loved at the time. It was a late 2005 and we bought it for 7k trade, then Sold it 18 months later for £6700 private which has probably been the best value depreciation wise I've ever owned. Not sure if it would feel like a bit of a step back, but definitely worth considering. We are viewing the Bimmer on Monday now so will see what she thinks after a test drive anyway. Thanks again all! :thumbleft:
  23. Good stuff Sean. Lots of little extras on this now, and all make it that little bit more special. Keep it up mate, always a good read on this thread and adds that little extra to think about. :thumbleft:
  24. As above. Looking for a new daily as the Saab is on its last legs. Bearing in mind the wife will be the main driver, and she had her heart set on the Golf. That is, until I pulled her over to look at the Bimmer. She's now in a mood as I've complicated things! Both are around the 11k mark, and she's found pros and cons with both. The only issue I have is that it'll obviously be used to ferry the kids too, and having never driven a RWD car in the rain, is it really an issue unless your giving it beans? (Obviously she wouldn't be doing that with the kids in though). She prefers the fact the Golf has touchscreen dab radio with the ultrasonic parking screen, but prefers the interior trim and class of the BMW, although visibility isn't great. She's undecided on which she prefers on the exterior, but thinks the "sporty look of the BMW makes it look a bit like a blokes car". Anyone got any experience of both, Or either would be good. General opinions welcome too. I just think the Golf looks a bit well, boring................... Cheers all!!
  25. Uhhh, they won't take that! You may get an assistant that takes pity on you, but last time I tried, I had to find the last remaining Internet cafe in the country to print one off! Hope you all enjoy yourself though. Bit gutted I won't be there now. Off to look at mk6 Golf's for a new daily today now.:(
