Loads left on that to put to good use!

Again not many with a decent backdrop, but my favourite at the moment.

Yeah Central Locking was standard on all models mate. Its a bit crude and noisy being pneumatic, but its pretty reliable other than the occasional hose popping off. Have a look on Ebay. I've used RightClick kits on a couple of cars now, and they are very easy to fit, and very cheap (Under £20 iirc for kit if already installed with C/L).

Have a look in my members gallery at the speedlines being done with Iron-X Jim. Wouldn't recommend it to strip old product off tbh, as it'd be pretty expensive in the long run. Claying will remove any old wax layer, or as mentioned a good APC as a pre-wash will be a good idea too. Bilt Hamber Surfex is my go to APC at the moment. Its awsome on absolutely everything! Daisy APC from Tesco seems to be recommended on DW quite alot for a budget option, although I can't comment from experience having never use it mate. :thumbleft:

Wow, sub 10 second quarter mile is pretty epic!

Have you ruled out the starter motor? What your talking about is the ignition switch. Still available from VW (around the £25 iirc). Heres a guide how to change it but be warned, the little retaining screw is an absolute Barsteward to remove and refit!!! http://wiki.the-corrado.net/ignition_switch_replacement.html

Tom, couldn't be done mate. One of the pins on the ECU had snapped due to the corrosion, and some of the internal components looked pretty ropey too! Chris, really happy to hear that its sorted mate! Can't beat a nice cheap fix!
-
Tunnel cover looks a bit too wide tbh.

Thanks Chris, but I've just sent payment to G60Knight for one he offered me via PM! Thanks again mate!

Just trying to find out if it'll be ok Paul, as with the VR having the Traction Control I'm not sure if it'll throw up a fault and have me chasing my arse. Will get back to you when I find out mate. Cheers! EDIT; Sorry to disappoint Paul, I've gone with one with the right suffix I was after. I just want to be sure its correct for my car is all as I've had no reply to the thread when asking if it would be compatible. Thanks again mate, appreciate all you've helped me with so far!

Does anyone know if ABS ECUs are interchangable? I've had a search and can't find anything. Kip has offered me one with the suffix D whereas mine was E. Wondering if this would be ok to plug in and go?

Got really angry with it for giving me a black eye!

Sold yesterday Rob, gutted as it was a great price too! Always a little too late..............:censored:
-
The mounting bracket looks the same, ask the seller for dimensions to be sure though.

I've had it all day too. Even getting it trying to post here in the more arse thread!!! Very annoying when your trying to search for answers to defects!!!!

Cheers Tom, unfortunately nothing ever runs smoothly though! Its booked in for retest on Tuesday morning, but I'm gonna have to cancel it now. Got the tyre changed over, and fitted the headlight and ABS light I received from Kip, but unfortunately I'm still in a bit of a predicament with the ABS system. I went down to the car earlier today, and started with a few little easy things. Received these earlier in the week. Just little things, but its the little things that make it look really scruffy imo. First off got the pedal rubbers changed. One was missing, and the other pretty well worn. Next up was the door pin, then finally the parcel shelf strap. Unfortunately I had a little accident when trying to get the old bit out of the shelf! With the aid of set of long nose pliers, I was pulling the nib up so I could cut it and drop it out from below, and the pliers slipped, stabbing me in the eye! Hurt like fook, and I couldn't see out of it for a good 10 minutes! Thankfully it cleared, but I've got a gouge out of the sclera and a very bloodshot eye! Its the first time I've ever really hurt myself when working on a car, and for something so silly, I feel a right douche! Anyway, once I'd recovered and bruised pride overcome, I cracked on with the ABS system. I got voltage at the light, and its constant. There was no illumination though. I didn't get anything on any other pins though, so whipped out the ABS Controller to see if anything was amiss with that. Think this may be an issue! Post in the wanted section for another, and I'd gone as far as I could with that for the time being. Only other thing was a tyre, which I already had a near new one in the shed, so ran down to .................................Kwik Fit.............. it was the only place that was open!!!! and got it fitted. lol. Tbh, its only going on the speedline which are a temporary wheel anyway so wasn't bothered if they were banged around a little, and for the sake of a tenner I wasn't too fussed. Got that back on the car, set up headlight alignment by eye (the good one!) and just gave the car a quick wash as its dusty as hell in the unit! I really hope a new ABS Controller sorts the problems, as its taking far too long to sort out already! I just want to drive the bloody thing!!!!!

Thank gents, its obviously not working then and I mustn't have been going fast enough, or my brakes are also pretty pants! Passed efficiency test on the rollers though so at least they're effective-ish! Didn't spend long on it due to a little mishap with a pair of long nosed pliers, old parcel shelf straps, and an eyeball being too close! Yes I was trying to lift the bottom bit out with the pliers to snip underneath and drop it out from below, the pliers slipped and stabbed myself in the sclera! I'm a bloody idiot, but luckily I've just got to wear a patch for a few days and rinse in saline solution twice a day to avoid infection, as I gouged a fair bit of it! Its a bit sore, but its not affected my sight luckily! Anyway, back on topic! I had voltage at the light, but still no illumination. Had no signal on the other pins from the control module though, so whipped it out to have a look! Could have something to do with it! 1H0 907 379E if anyone has one!? - Already in the wanted section anyway. :thumbleft:

1H0 907 379E ABS ECU wanted if anyone has one spare and not at silly ebay prices???? Cheers chaps!

Balls, to late again!
-
Just what I hoped, thanks James! Hopefully just a case of tracing the wiring back now. Will report in with my findings tomorrow!

Pretty sure its the correct light. There is one maybe 8 pin plug, and a further 2 pin plug that slots in above it. The loom and light unit marry up, but the 2 pin plug has no pins to attach to in the light unit itself. Just wondering if the 2 pin plug was for voltage to the LED within the light unit, to help me out before I start as the bentley is just a schematic, not a wiring diagram and as I've not dealt with it before, I'm going in a touch blind. Thanks though Tony. :thumbleft:

Had a search but can't find anything, so hopefully you fine and helpful chaps can point me in the right direction! Since I bought the car, the ABS light has not come on. Checked the light itself and its been butchered, and the PCB had burned out components and broken tracks. I bought a new/used light off Kip and thought that would sort my problem, as the ABS system works afaik (jumped on the brakes at around 30 and it didnt lock up). The new light unit has no pins for the top plug, and I was just wondering if this is correct as I plan to trace the wiring back tomorrow. If not, what is the top plug/cable for? Ive got a bentley on CD, but its with the old laptop with the car away from home. Cheers folks!

Looks a good example, and a credit to the family member you bought it from! Your old DBP Valver looks amazballs in those pics too, so looking forward to seeing progress on this! :thumbleft:

Towards the rear mate. Apply light inward pressure whilst sliding it back too. :thumbleft:
