Alright mate, do you have a late N/S headlight in good condition and a late ABS light? Price posted please! Cheers!
-
Due to MOT failure (see members gallery), I need your best price on a set of late headlights, although N/S (passenger) would suffice. I also need a late ABS light/display as mine has been butchered at the back. (Lamp included if possible!) Prices posted to Fareham, Hampshire would be much appreciated, Thanks guys!

Ok so just got back from MOT............................................failed. :( On the plus side, I think its all easily fixable. Failures are; Nearside Headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect. - New headlight needed, the way he explained it was the beam was scattered. Its obviously the reflective coating inside the headlight has broken down, so needs replacing ABS warning lamp does not illuminate. - I knew it would probably fail on this, so a replacement lamp is required as it has been butchered from behind. The pedal pulses on start-up, so thats good, and the ABS system seems to be working when I jump on the brakes at 30 mph, so hopefully its just the lamp. There is some history around the ABS system, so hopefully its just a backshot of that as components were replaced back then. N/S rear tyre has a lump. - Didn't notice this tbh, new tyre will sort that. Advisories; Slight Oil leak. - Yeah I know that, sump gasket and chain cover leaking, that'll come shortly. O/S headlamp aim poor. - Will replace this as well. I had to bodge the adjuster with some Epoxy Resin as the plastic around the thread had broken, but I may as well replace it for peace of mind. Not the end of the world, and I was very impressed with emissions so at least the engine is healthy! Post in the Wanted section for all parts required shortly.

You'll see a little plastic insert on the base of the plastic on your key if you have an immobiliser. (Mine is a red insert). I don't know if it was a factory option, but I'm convinced I had one on my old Valver.....

It'll be a bit of grit on the indicator cancel mech. As mentioned, take the wheel off and wipe round the ring and all will be well again!

So would a single car respray be considered "prolonged use" then? I'll very much be considering whether to do mine myself over winter, or saving for a bit longer to get it done professionally in a year or so..... Very useful thread and lots of good info here, thanks all!

Get stuck in mate! I'm sure you'll get a few good deals on parts down at DDS! Keep us posted. :thumbleft:

My Valver burn't zero oil, and that was on 175k when it was totalled. As said have a look in the insurance section, seeing as you'd planned it to be a weekend car anyway, limited mileage would be a very good bet and bring the premiums down massively on a classic policy.

Dont be too disheartened, His must have been tuned, and he probably went home thing 'bloody hell, I had a 20 year old Corrado VR6 reeling me in'!
-
But what was it you were playing with!?
-
Is it Genuine or an OE Replacement? What would you be happy to sell for?? :norty:
-
Is it an early type (fibre?) or late (rubber?), as I need the later type whichever it is mate. If so, how huch do you want posted? Cheers buddy!

It'll be a 1.8 16v being before 1992. Have a look below for more info on buying mate. Welcome to the forum! http://wiki.the-corrado.net/the_corrado_buying_guide_checklist.html

Thats the problem, there is no bulb! The whole of the back end of the light unit is missing! As of March this year, its now a failure for it not to illuminate and follow the correct sequence. According to the VOSA directive, it was just an advisory before.

Ball sack, missed the boat on the sump and gasket......................:bonk:
-
Done that, its only really the ABS system I'm worried about. It works, but the display/light has been butchered in the past! :pale:
-
I got it on CD from the Bay of E for a couple of quid! Its been invaluable!
-
Well done getting through the MOT! Got mine Sat'dee, and I'm a touch worried! Good to see how your getting on with the work too, keep it up mate! :thumbleft:

Its a black plastic/rubber bung on the top of the GB casing. Lots think its the GB oil filler cap and chuck a load of fluid down there. Not good when your clutch starts slipping!

Congrats mate, was a good game and you thoroughly deserved to win! Wish my club would give me something to be hopeful/proud about! (Bristol City). :( -
Yeah I'd agree with Tom. I wouldn't pay more than 2k, considering your gonna need to possibly pump a grand into it. Being stood so long will have had a detrimental affect on all rubber components and seals. You mentioned it had new tyres before being stood, but tyres on a car for that long un-moved, will have big flat spots, and probably alot of cracking on side walls and tread too. A full service with all fluids changed, maybe calipers refirbed/replaced as they may well have seized, the list could go on and on mate.

Don't get me wrong it looks to have been done to a decent standard, it just looks bloody ugly if you ask me, and I can't think why someone would do it! It's obviously not cheap getting things custom fabricated like this, so it just doesn't make sense to me. Agree I have seen far worse though!
