  1. So if I've only lost one cylinder and Correspondingly only lost spark from one coilpack outlet is it most likely to be the coilpack or ecu at fault. It was weird how it went mid drive having covered about 100 miles already that day.
  2. Edit: I meant I thought the coil pack always lost 2 cylinders if they failed (not 2 banks as stated)
  3. Hi All Need to delve into the knowledge bank for some reassurance please :) I lost a cylinder on the way up the M5 a few days ago, it was late and my RAC had run out so had to carry on and do the remaining 30 miles home I have done some diagnostics this morning and it seems to be cylinder 3 that is not firing (middle top as you look into the engine bay from the front of the car). The spark Plug is wet upon removal. I pulled the plugs off the coilpack one by one and all but one have spark (as my right hand will currently vouch) It is the bottom right coilpack output as you look at the coilpack which has NO spark (which also correlates to cylinder 3) Ive swapped HT leads over etc and the fault remains as i would expect I ordered a new BERU coilpack yesterday (and new HT and sparkplugs etc) as im feeling guilty that she has been neglected but it is a few days until they arrive My Questions are 1) I thought the coilpacks always lost two banks of cylinders when they fail. Can they just fail on one. Could the problem therefore be elsewhere i.e. ignition control module or something else 2) Will there be any resulting issues from running the car up the motorway after i lost a cylinder. assume unburnt fuel will have got to the lambda etc could this cause any issues? Many thanks for any response Edd

  16. Try footman James. I was with them a few years ago and had a reasonably priced classic policy, I forgot their name yesterday (age thing) and had to trawl through my previous posts on this forum to find them. I moved away from them a few years ago because I needed a normal policy with business use for my partner for a period of time (but don't now) so went to a non classic policy for a bit and they were not the best for that. still all good now
  17. footman James have just quoted me £148, thats more like it...
  18. so i just had an online quote from Lancaster for my Storm on a classic policy covering my common law partner (37) and myself (34). Both have no convictions or points in last 5 years. Car currently unmodified. Her a Managing Director and myself a Senior Engineer. Mileage limited to 3000 annual and car left on private drive 250 £excess Quote: £3600.........??!!! wtf I have a Morgan 4.0 V8 insured under similar for a tenth of that price elsewhere. I will never understand insurance...
  19. I have the same problem Although my bracket still works. I was advised on here to buy a mk2 golf one from heritage and have it welded in which I bought but haven't had it fitted yet as it keeps sailing through its MOT each year
  20. Same I had similar issues with H&R. Have a set of lowering caps ready for the b12 just in case

    corrado vr6

having owned and run Corrados and followed this forum as a relatively silent observer for well over 10 years my best advice would be to sit on your cash and wait for the right one to pop on here, this forum really does have true enthusiasts and you get to see the cars histories and previous issues etc (by tracking there previous posts), bit "stalker" maybe but can certainly avoid the money pits that are now out there. That's plenty of money given prices at the moment and really good cars change owners but often stay on this forum. Good luck
  22. I've still got a dragon 32 in the loft somewhere. Don't think it ever actually worked though...
  23. My previous vr6 that I had the engine rebuilt by stealth had a mk4 tensioner at their advice. The one that doesn't wear out. That's all the detail I know though.
  24. Err what? Time to make some calls for when the time comes...
  25. ok will send mine via paypal tomorrow will include for the postage option
