  2. Reckon it's new HU time - but you've been on that thread already!!!!
  3. Try Here Pioneer have a number of blue bluetooth units, although it's generally a given that any standard unit with a stand-alone bluetooth adapter will give a better sound quality than 'all-in' sets, adapters can be had off e-bay etc fairly cheaply I believe.
  4. Pioneer have two nice units, one at £389.99, DEH-P88RSII and the other just out DEX-P99RS available sometime at around £750  look and sound very good though apparently. A mate of mine has the (silver) '07 model precursor to the 88 and it's damn fine!! The revamped 88 only available in black looks wickedly nice. Pioneer DEH-P88RS II 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfdeh-p88rsii_1_large.jpg[/attachment:axakw9lo] Pioneer DEX-P99RS dexp99rs_main_large.jpg[/attachment:axakw9lo] I'm waiting for the DEH-P88RSII s to drop in price - the '07 models are still going for £210 secondhand!!
  5. Just flatten it out and reinforce it with fibre-glass or something similar on the reverse side, you can then scrub the visible side with some soapy water and a nail brush and hose it clean with fresh water, worked a bloody treat on mine  ......just don't try it on your sun-roof trim - nightmare, cloth came adrift!!! :( :camp: If I had to do it again I'd glue-gun around all the edges and then just bleach it/rinse it flat, allow to dry and then apply thinned PVA glue to set it so it CAN NOT sag ever! 8) Replacement trim sorted me.....eventually.
  6. Classic  I called out the RAC for this many moons ago :(
  7. Mk2 16v exhaust will fit, unless it's a VR!!
  8. Clean it out with solvent and get a bit of rag in there, round the back and out the same hole, it'll be black as hell!!! Made a difference to mine - although I only did it because I thought it was the idle stab valve!!
  9. In my experience the oil temp is usually around 10 degrees higher than the water.
  10. No idea - i'm pretty sure my 1990 KR doesn't have it!
  11. I don't know if I'd get on with them - I like the fact that things aren't closer than they appear!!!  Landrover ones are like that (convex) and with a trailer on the back I had a couple of 'moments' overtaking slow lorries convoying about with the RAF! :gag: Doesn't anyone have a problem with the passenger side DDI mirror not being wide-angle?
  12. That's funny!!! Looks bizarre
  13. Deffo check all the cables first!!
  14. Equity Red Star through Adriam Flux took about 4 months to sort my claim but it all worked out fine. These things do take awhile unfortunately.
  15. Cheers for all the replies - most of the lugs are still there so I think I'll fill each of the holes in the tailgate with Dum Dum and stick them in with that. Waterproof, Sticky but still Removable if required!!! .....goes off to E.gay!!!
  16. Other than the tape on the bottom edge of the number plate surround does anyone have any idea on the rest of the retainers? I assume they look like this? Special washer.jpg[/attachment:pdbxx8ba] But the parts guy at the local stealers couldn't find any fasteners on his ETKA and neither could I !!!! :brickwall: The abortion of self tappers and washers on mine have started to give up the ghost - HELP!! My fallback option is to apply something like Eldro Dum Dum and stick it on unless someone has a better option
  17. Heli-coils are like springs aren't they, this uses threaded copper tubing, damn clever!
  18. He's asking the differences between the 1.8 and 2.0 valvers.
  19. Wurth Time-Sert sparkplug kit. Don't know if anyone knows of this kit but I've just used it today on my wife's X-reg 1.2 16v corsa :pukeright: to reinstate the stripped sparkplug threads in the block. 8) 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf16092009468.jpg[/attachment:3felps6y]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf16092009466.jpg[/attachment:3felps6y]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf16092009467.jpg[/attachment:3felps6y]16092009471.jpg[/attachment:3felps6y] It consists of a cutter that uses what's left of the old threads as a guide to cut new ones, a seat cutter slots over this to ensure everything is square and then a copper thread insert is screwed in and expanded with a 3rd tool to give you a compression-proof seal. A Big Mega Thanks to Nick at Youngs Garage, Gasoline Alley, Wrotham, Kent, TN15 7RR who lent me the kit. He's a top bloke and although he was way too busy with VWs and Audis...(..and it's a vauxhall!!) he was still able to save us an expensive head off bill (prob £400??) that could have otherwise resulted had it gone to a garage, :salute: :salute: :salute: Just need the coil to turn up in the post, bang in the new plugs and I can see if it's totally fixed.
