Not sure I agree there are too many flaws. Yes there are some poorly designed/engineered parts that snap but I can't fault layout, position or shape of any panel or tiny bit of plastic because thats what makes the corrado a corrado. One of the last afforadable cars made with any kind of Soul.
-
Wonder if it all works without being plugged into the mains? Not my personal taste, OTT IMHO. I would love to know the cost of that.

Wheres Rado.. Corrado Spotting at Ferrari Garage!

Like the illegal plate on the F40 :-) -
Sorry to bump up many days later... anyway, I booked in with VW for my 80k service...... however, I have been thinking about it more and more, now cancelled the booking and booked with VolksKraft. I decided that on the basis that I intend to keep the car for many years that the VW stamp is highly unlikely to add any worth the vechicle that is anything like the additionally cost of the VW service, let alone the chance of risk to a shoddy job. FVWSH was probably worth something in the first say 5 years of the cars life to the untrained eye. All I want now is the best car care I can get. Oh, btw they quoted £140 for the service (VW wanted £320)

Was/is there not a Skoda Coupe planned? Thats a slapped up golf and essentially what a new corrado would be if done? I rekon they would ditch the name, like Vauxhall they would just say Golf Coupe. IMO there will never be another Corrado (accept in like 80years when its trendy to use retro names like it is now)
-
Was that supplied and fitted? how did you get it so cheap?
-
Perhaps we can get a groupbuy on resprays, I am going to get mine done soon too :-) I spoke to joebloggsVR69 on here who spent in the region on £3k on a quite impressive job. On top of that you need to consider all of the trim thats marked and gone grey in the sun. I have a list of about £500 worth at the moment :-S. If you have the glass out I think you have to get autoglass or someone in to put it all back as its all bonded in (I might be wrong there) I don't have time to do any prep work or dismantling at the moment so I expect to be seriouly stung when I get a quote.
-
Starko, how much are the Konis and H+Rs costing inc fitting? I am going along the same lines as you, OEM+ look. Considering options... RXs RCs 16/17 and a lowered setup of some sort. Might put FK clear/red rear lights on and clear side repeaters... a look I think the corrado would have if made for a few more years.

Adrian Flux.

now there is a though, perhaps I should get my plugs done at a specialist and let VW do the fluids. Then I can have it checked over properly
-
OMG, that would be ace fun! best thing for a scooby..cut it up.
-
My insurance company said 19B for my Storm, but its £375 FC so don't matter really.
-
What I need to to is take it the VW for the stamp, then go to a specialist to have it checked. .....wonder if there are any stamps on flebay....
-
Depending on the exact date I will be up for it,have too much tread on my tyres anyway ;-)
-
corradostorm, thats a very good point :-S I think I will end up flipping a coin over it once I have a quote from volkskraft.
-
I suppose some of it comes down if was going to sell it and as I intend to get a respray I don't think I will for some time. I could do with someone a bit closer than stealth. I was told about the VW specialist in Lincoln, volkskraft I think they are called. Any other in my area worth checking out?
-
ho hum, at least they do a good job of cleaning it :-) I don't use my local stealer as they smashed my screen last time and acted like I should be greatful that they were replacing it! they were right $%^&*£%$ about it. Mentioning no names (Dixon's VW in Lincoln) Perhaps I should get a 2nd quote tho.
-
Hiya, My Storm is booked for its 80k service, I have kept up on the VW stamp in the book since its always had it. I don't normally get any work done at the stealers that is outside of getting the stamp. They have told me the 80k service is going to be £310 unless they find other things (which I get done elsewhere). That the most I have ever paid, last year it was £85 I think!. I understand this year is plugs which rams it up. Is the stealer taking the Pi$$ and is it worth it to keep the FVWSH. Thanks, Duncan

without wanting to totally change the subject of the thread, do you think that the extra feature of adjustable damping is worth the extra money on the FK Konigsport over the high sport is worth it? Maybe I should obtain the RCs while I can :-) I have a service very very soon, the results of that will make all the difference on my pocket money.
-
Thanks that helps a lot. I am on a limited budget at the moment, and I badly want a respray this summer. Do you think I will get away with eibach lowering springs or should I hold off the whole 17" thing until I can afford some FK coils or silimar
-
Speak to Adrian Flux brokers. I have mine insured Full comp for £375 and I had to get a bigger motor for child carrying purposes. They used a company (same I think) to underwrite using the fact I have the NCB already against a 2nd car giving a heavy discount (60% ithink) because you can't use NCB twice. I don't think this is a very common practice as in the past when I had two cars it seemed to be a nightmare to get a good deal (and you can't combine NCB earned on 2 cars in the future onto one car if they were earned at the same time)

I have resisted the urge to mod my Storm for nearly 4 years now, and my VR was stock too for a year or 2 before that. I once tried a Ram Air induction kit but under accelleration it was deafening and rattling the interior so it lasted 3 miles! plus it felt like I had commited a crime on the Storm. My Solitudes are probably the worse example ever, I will get the refurbed and store them one day. I can imagine that if/when I get some 17s they won't last either before I get guilty. Do you think that it will look stupid on std ride height on 17s? I am considering a drop soon (and a respray) I keep looking at RXs too, possibly 16s to give a little more of a OEM look but the RCs are sooo nice.
-
I thought the RC's were no longer available in the UK? What do you think about the ride height, am I going to need the put some bricks in the boot until I get it lowered (or at least leveled)?
-
Hi, I have been offered a set of BBS RCs which I am quite keen to put on my Storm. They are 17" 7.5 ET 35 with 205/40/17 Dunlop SP 9090 on them. They are nearly mint. How much are they worth? and will they look stupid with standard "allroad" ride height. (will be getting coilovers one day) Thanks, Duncan
