I would get it checked out though by someone that knows what they are looking at. If its noticable and a new noise its no doubt not a normal noise and one that needs attention. I thought mine was going to be bad news, but was lucky, but best to get it checked properly. hope its something simple.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Storm Warning replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
In preperation for going to the Evo shoot, couple of days ago it went off to Volkskraft for a bit of TLC. New Discs, Pads up front, strip and clean of all brakes, new fluid, all bled (inc abs pump), clutch cylinder bled, solitudes cleaned and spray touched up (really ready for a recon) then put on in place of RCs, Door stripped to locate and remove irritating rattle, ECU reset. Rado drives like a dream: tight, rattle free and feels very nimble. Cost £240 ( cheap I thought) Today: Just added forum stickers, which provided 25bhp each and 20 odd lb of torque. Took out internal fan blower, swapped the resister type bits over from my old fan which the bushes failed on. Took fan speed switch apart, cleaned and attacked with pliers. Now have a full working fan system with speeds AND and different directions. Which is the first time this year.. Considered fitting my headlight loom upgrade which I have had most this year, decided my son is bound to wake up when I am half way though, so called it a day. Just needs a few hours with the valeting people on Tuesday and final fluid level checks and it will be ready for the Evo guys Wednesday. -
Both VRs I have had were never quiet from cold, even with only 30 odd k on the clock. Recently I had a tapping knocking noise which didn't go away when warm. Noticable inside the car at quieter speeds. Turned out to be a spark plug that had worked loose, tightened it up and the noise was gone. and... how many mile on a tank!!! When I was doing short commutes I got about 300miles a tank. Now my longer commute will return up to 450 only if you barely touch the loud pedal...so normally I get 350-400 at the most. as double 6's says, get yer foot down :-D

kevhaywire, ok, 'mod' was a bit ott ;-) worth doing anything to maximise visibility, this looks to be an excellent find.

Hi, the TT setup looks very similar to the cheaper wipers from the aero wiper GB except they need no mods... Is the TT setup better? The aeros make a very clean sweep, but then it causes a fine spray right in the line of sight to appear on the way back down..I think its water trapped where the blade and arm meet or something..

Cool Rado Cake. Good job you blanked out the Novas number plate...because we can't read it on the cake ;-)
-
I wonder what they look like when they are finished

kevHaywire thanks for that, all clear now. Even if the temp gauge is well out I think I should have seen the consistant Fan 1 as it had been running on my drive a long time. but all I got was it cutting in and out... not sure what speed at though. oh well, at the moment the needle doesn't got too high so I guess I shouldn't worry...maybe another day when I get more time.

I was just checking my fans and they are behaving oddly! at about 100-105 the fans came on, fairly quickly...enough to feel hot air flow near the car. The came on for a few seconds..then stopped. A minute later the same again..then again a few minutes after that. in that time the temp maybe got to 105..+- 2deg. So I stopped the engine, the fans came on and stayed on for a minute or so. Much confusion! Going to go and check the fuses in later on. Any advice welcomed..

Evo Feature Day - Roundup/Pics on Page #4!
Storm Warning replied to Supercharged's topic in General Car Chat
Not sure, all I know is that there are at least some other FWD cars from the ages that have also had 5 Stars in EVO. I don't have a magazine to hand so don't know what they are. There is an endless list of FWD cars you could consider to make up the numbers, you could have things like Honda CTR, different golf GTIs? Leon Cupra, Escort Cossy, Fiat Coupe, Calibra, Williams Clio... we will soon find out! Just hope we don't have to sign a non-disclosure style agreement and can spill the beans here next week. -

boyleonethebum, yep, don't see why not :-) Just not shout about the late notice ;-) jazzdevil, the drop would have ruled you out, I am OK with wipers, but wheels and anything else were a no no so back to std tomorrow. Not sure how much driving I will be doing, the main testing is by them on local roads, then photos at bedford. They are taking the best/their favorites onto north Wales on the thur/fri. They are not sure the rado will make it through, but it is a 5 Star car in EVO. I know my Storm is not the best example VR6 in the world, but it runs very well and is still tight. Body work has seen better days but a valet the day before will make it look very nice for the pics (see link in my sig) Shame I can't keep the RCs on :-( Hopefully it will do the Forum Proud. -

The testing on Wednesday will be done on local roads, if it fairs well it will go to Wales for two days. The VW specialist I use say its a good/reasonable example of a VR, not sloppy at all. Still, not sure how is will fair against a Clio 172 cup. I can take a passenger for the day... you interested boyleonthebum? as your so local. It will be lots of hanging about at bedford with lots of nice cars. -

Bedford on Wednesday and then possibly on to Wales for another two days. I don't know if spectators are allowed, though I guess I could take someone? I will enquire. -

It is going to be something like Best FWD cars of all time. I have been offered the chance to take my Storm, I will need to get my (very Scabby) Solitudes back on and some standard discs/Pads. I guess it won't hurt the cars resale value :-) and is an opportunity not to be missed. Just need to get the time off work arranged... -

Phil K, Tape was for a trackday at Cadwell. Always thinking about lowering it, but something else always comes up. It will be the next thing...after the TT brakes and the BMC..and..the respray and the... um something else that needs doing ;-). Can't bring myself to put a budget setup on the Storm, I would prefer to wait until I can afford H&R coilovers. Its been sat on my drive for a few weeks now, pads are end of life waiting on a few parts for a TT setup. How I miss driving it, stuck in my oil burner day after day. -
Been about on here for a while, thought it was about time I posted a couple of pics of my Storm...

I have done the Ferrari Day at Prestwold too, my advice is to book direct, much much cheaper. It's run by everyman racing I think. I am going back in a couple of weeks for a Euro drive day, for which the line up should be something like: 360 575 Murcielago XKR and Exige.
-
I would be up for it, can't wait to go back to Cadwell, would you like to arrange it there ;-)
-
What probs are there with Adrian Flux? I have used them for about 5 or 6 years with no probs and have 2 cars with them...should I be worried?
-
