How many miles have yours done? IIRC it's quite low right?

Just want to get an idea in relation to chain/tensioner wear. Cheers!

Car has done 77k and the records don't show the engine ever been opened so. No chain work. The top tensioner ie usually the prob..get that early and chains can last well beyond 100k

I see, thanks. My car has also only done 77k, but has incomplete history - one of the previously owners lost the service book; although I've got 'receipts' of all works done in the last seven years, I'm still not certain just how 'well' it was looked after .

I bought the car @ eight weeks ago..... and so far all fluids have been changed plus a few parts replaced. It's nice to know that your chains and tensioner are fine as both of ours have got similar mileage.

As I only do @5-6k p.a, maybe I'll have the chains and tensioner checked at the end of 2011. I'll follow your car's progress with interest! Cheers! :salute:

I felt good going into this work as the engine sounded really good. But it is great to find out that your feel for the car turned out to be good. Mind you I was only missing a very small gap one mot in the 15 year history.

Good luck with yours

Doing an excellent job there mate :salute:

Love the wheels and the supercharger  I'm sure the bills are mounting up and you started with a engine in good shape. Imaging the extra costs if the engine had of needed work :pale:

Yes if we had found probs with the engine it would not have been pretty! Thanks for the other comments.. :-)

OK heard from Dave tonight just before he had daddy duties!

Head is all built back up.

Block all cleaned up, new gasket, ARP bolts fitted, head back on, exhaust etc.

ECU has been socketed and has default charger map installed, ready for mapping.

Some pics attached of the head work. :D
