thanks was8v, RX IIs..thats what I thought

sorry, forgot to put up the pics  Does that mean that there can be a 1.5 inch difference between measured diameter and actual rim diameter. How can you measure the alloy wheel diameter accurately on a wheel without taking off the tyre?
-
Yes i know theyre BBS  but which style? Are they RXs? Another thing - theyre fitted with R16 tyres but physical measurement across the diameter of the wheel measures just ove 17 inches :?: Is this something to do with the fact that theyre two piece wheels? cheers
-
anyone recommend an alloy wheel paint for the BBS wheels - have used some Halfrauds stuff for past refurbs but not really pleased with the result. Is there a good quality silver alloy wheel paint out there?

Chris, glad to hear you are OK having come across this thread. SVTs can be very distressing and bloody knackering if they go on for a while - like being forced to run a marathon with no hope of reaching the finish line. Adenosine is the choice juice but doesn't always work. A good trick is Carotid sinus massage (one side only!) but not advised if you have the possibility of arterial disease (could give you a stroke) but when it works its fantastic - and saves your arms from needle wielders...did anyone start rubbing your neck when you went in?
-
INCLUDING if you've got an upgraded loom  the loom I've got certainly didnt come with an OE plug  until I went and bought one from VW and wired it all up - all original like

You need to find out whether they have already been converted to RHD (all leave the factory as LHD). Mine were sold as RHD but turns out they hadn't been converted prior to shipping and this cost me at the MOT. Thanks to Supercharged Junkie, I was able to do the conversion as he posted the instructions on here (apparently these should be supplied with the lights but mine werent) As for the rest - just unplug the old ones and plug in the new ones ~ original plug and play....unless you've got an upgraded wiring loom that is

Ive got a 330 sport E46 as the main 'family car' - its pretty faultless - in fact too faultless - Its just too clinical and becomes 'boring' after a while. For reliability and long distance travelling it cannot be faulted but I think they made this car just 'too' well.

groaning noise when pulling away from nearside front
STORM 2 replied to STORM 2's topic in Drivetrain
I'll be damned if I can describe it properly - I'll try and record it, its prob a bearing or the caliper sticking - I'm just wondering about the relevance of the steering angle -
welcome, VR6 vs GTX in the wallet anorexia stakes.....mmm
-
only lasts below 1000prm. Just replaced all pads and discs all round (inc. rear bearings) only happens when pulling out to the left :?: ?seized front caliper?
-
well this is a shocker! you won't last long Andi without one - i got rid of my first Storm a few years ago and then spent a year in the wilderness with a 'sensible' car and then spent another year looking for another Storm. Since then I've sworn never to sell it. So in true Del Boy style : Its not goodbye...just Au revoir

Am I looking at the wrong site mate? http://www.venommotorsport.com/shop/index.html here the crystal rears for £99 don't mention Inpro and the smoked FK's are mentioned as emarked!
-
Arent they FK rather than Inpros?

Hi folks, its time to change my wheel bolts but couldn't find anything on the forum regarding the size of the bolt. anyone know the official size of the bolts? cheers
-
I've seen results like that with human bits everywhere and scarlet sprayed everywhere inside a car - thats why I always feel compelled to stay under 30 in built up zones. Worst case was trying to get out a five year old from under the glove box where she had become wedged, oh yeah and a decapitated mum
-
Surely they mean the sump gasket?
-
cheers Kev I think I'll be OK to get up to Stealth tomorrow - and have a go at the MC next week

Im using MK4 pads, just gotta get bleeding UPDATE: used Easibleed system to bleed all four calipers in sequence as well as getting a new ABS rotor sensor for the nearside rear. ABS and noise problem seems to be resolved but I'm not impressed with the brake pedal feel. The bleeding seemed to only trickle out brake fluid when its meant to be a pressure bleeding system. Should I have bled the system with the ignition on? What else can be done - do I need to bleed the master cylinder/reservoir?
-
right - an update got everything on but the usual problem of slack pedal and slack handbrake bled the two new rear calipers until there was no bubbles but still very little pedal pressure when i drove the car I heard a grinding/rattling from the rear nearside and I think the ABS cage has come loose (this one wasn't replaced new) Im off to get a new ABS cage and Im going to adjust the handbrake cable at the front end. I've also bought an easibleed kit from Halfrauds to rebleed the system. Anthing I'm missing? I hope I get it sorted today cos Ive gotta get up to the rolling road tomorrow!!

its taken me six hours to get halfway through the nearside 1.nightmare getting the caliper carrier off (usual) -what kind of pleb decides to use a hex allen socket bolt to fix something that is bound to seize within weeks? In the end the Irwin bolt grippers did a fine job - They are rapidly becoming my favourite bit of kit 2.wheel bearing issues - had to use a hell of a force to get the front and rear bearings into the disc - just hope I havent damaged them -heyho 3.ABS cage- damned if I had a clue I needed these - so I just whacked the old one off and stuck it on to the new disc (asking for problems later) 3. MK4 calipers - job arrested here - caliper piston would only wind in a certain distance so tried winding it out first - but it easily popped out the piston. NOW I CANT GET THE BLOODY PISTON BACK IN! Admittedly I dont have the caliper winding tool and was trying to do the job on the cheap buy using pliers. Why wont the caliper piston thread back into the housing?? 4. given up with the hope of popping down to GSF tomorrow and getting the proper tool to see if that helps. will keep the forum updated - I know this is on the list of a few of you

April 1st was a few days ago Doc :-P

-
thats a very nice example - does it have aircon?

you know when VW got the height of the Corrado wrong when something like that happens....right off to look for some coilies
