  1. Oh I didn't realise they were hard to come by...there's obviously plenty of stock left in Germany considering the regularity with which they come on ebay
  2. I went for Brembo front disks and pads and TBH I am a little disappointed. Way too much pedal travel and worse than original ones in the wet! Im not sure if this is a caliper problem or they just haven't bedded in yet.....
  3. I'll have to see when they arrive - I asked for the ordinary 2L ones . BTW they cost £45 for the pair +VAT +Delivery = total £75
  4. I hard wired the RA Navigator setting it in the empty cubby space at the bottom.
  5. No definately not the BMW one. There is another fairly universal one which has a list of vehicles on the box - all Corrado models included. pictures of box below
  6. Hi, I just installled the Hella rain sensitive wiper kit in the C, very easy to install (just a direct swap over of relays) and I had plenty of opportunity in recent days to test it out fully. Im happy to report that it works superbly - spent an hour on the m'way in spray, varying rain conditions and it worked a treat with the lupo wipers. I do always use rain-X though. Downside: rather large sensor unit on windscreen . . only visible from outside though as its hidden behind the rearview mirror from inside Unit cost me £40 brand new from fleabay.
  7. too late now - just paid - apparently in good nick but i f I have any doubts I'll stick em up on egay
  8. Guys, just ordered a pair of rearMK4 calipers from a breakers - I understand there were two types early and late, the early ones being smaller than the later ones. Do we know which ones are compatible with the Corrado?
  9. ;)[/quote:b210e] cheers Dinky my man, but I was wondering specifically about the caliper carrier boltholes and how they would align up with the new carrier as opposed to the hub 5 bolt threads. Would you be able to use existing bolt sizes for the carrier, does the caliper require an adaptor to take the hydraulic line etc..
  10. would be very interested in replacing the front calipers as the piston on one of mine is in the best of health....couldnt find any info on the site as yet. Would these just go straight on a VR setup Darren?
  11. No, No mate...just for release of oil slick and sharp tacks for the benefit of pursuing vehicles...jam sandwiches included
  12. no problem, Ive been there with temp issues...nothing more frustrating. 110 for brief periods isnt a problem - remember the coolant is under pressure - the fan should kick in at this temp and keep it from rising further
  13. like the multifunction buttons on later VWs eg stereo control, phone control etc
  14. there a thread on this forum listing users with VAG-COM who may be in your vicinity and could help you out
  15. Any body seen aftermarket wheels with control buttons on them?
  16. I paid around 70+VAT from Vag about a year ago, but they go on ebay all the time for around £50 TBH thought here are loads of things which may be causing the symptoms you describe from temp senders to cam position sensors - I would try and hook it up to VAG-COM first before spending your money on coilpacks
  17. I'm not sure what exactly your problem is here..if the fan is kicking in then its OK...the fan has three stages of kick- in ( loads of info on this on the forum) Make sure you replace the broken temp sensor and you should be fine. You can bypass the system by shorting the terminals on the main loom that goes in to the fan housing (this wil test fan function) but why rig up a switch if the cars not overheating?
  18. so whats the new rate for the VR6...I know I paid £175 a few weeks ago just got arsed to actually read the info...so nothing changes for us then...how boring
  19. another vote for the clear - but it would have to be for both fogs and indicators otherwise they would look silly. I believe the problem with the fogs is due to the extremely high temperature the glass is subjected to as opposed to stone chips etc. Would a plastic replacement not discolour rather quickly with the heat?
  20. If the ECU imobiliser, chassis has to be after 50SK000719. A fault code for this does exist - 17978 Engine control unit blocked. If not there, then don't suspect the ECU immobilisation or the coil reader for the key. WD40 the connector pins and gently work the connector to scrape the pin surfaces at the immobiliser box (if fitted) inside the dash behind the headlight switch. Bottom box, top is spoiler control. 3 wire connection coming from the steering column. You will need to remove the parcel shelf & fuse cover parcel shelf under the dash to get at it. If it is this, WD40 lasts, mine - 8 years so far. Sometimes just disturbing the wires in the area like you may have done replacing th relay can "ease" the situation for a while by accident. .[/quote:020b7] I just thump the dash around the area of the control box and it always works! Very Fonzy
  21. I bought the inpros recently in spite of the love em/hate em thing going on here. Admittedly I had to replace my lights - so took the gamble. Thankfully I'm quite pleased with them - they do look much better in the flesh in my opinion but I suppose theyre not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I would rather run a HID set up from the projection light than an ordinary reflector tho....
  22. I will watch with interest - my personal debate is whether or not to go for FK highsports or pay the extra 70 quid for konigsports? The silverline option just compounds the matter further.....
  23. Solder them on then shrink sleeve them in black, then wrap in proper loom tape. Can't get better than that. jay No, I mean connecting the other end of the loom to the original headlamp connectors without modifying the original wiring. An important question seeing as this is where most of the corrosion occurs on the blade terminals because they are exposed (well on mine anyway). I suppose hacking the male connector off a damaged light is an option but they would be hard to come by...but if this system applies to passats and jettas they would be a bit more plentiful
