    My cars problems

Take the trim off the inside of the boot lid and make sure all the pipes are connected and it's not p1ssing fluid everywhere. If all's ok, stick a pin into the nozzle and swirl it about. They get clogged with dirt. As Andy says, the parts for the other bits aren't dear. The labour's the killer.
  3. On a similar note. I don't have the manual for my Sony Headunit. The main display no longer works in orange mode and I can't remember how to change it to green. What's the key combination?
  4. Is it Green or Mystic Blue? The " Storm "Badges are worth more than that on E-Bay!

    Door Handles

Buy a repair kit from daves16v They work a treat and are way more robust.
  6. too hot The beauty of VW Flash Red is no two panels are ever the same colour. :) Hence the photos taken near dusk to make it look nice. :) A good going over with Swissol or McGuires usually restores it for a few weeks though. As for the work, all fairly mundane. Swapped the Magnatec Oil for Quantum Syntha Silver (much quieter), fitted a new master cylinder and alternator and fitted new exhaust rubbers. Funny how things happen in 3's especially when Christmas was approaching. Pic of Smoked In-Pros below. I've had loads of nice comments about them at the local Club GTI meets. 8)

    BBS RC's

I got my BBS RD's through my local tyre dealer from Motorsport Wheels. http://www.mswuk.com/ 17" BBS RC's with Toyo Proxy 205/40/17's Tyres VAT and Delivery = £1150
  8. I'd forgotten all about the comments I'd put on there nearly a year ago! Read my review and thought it sounded awfully familiar. :D
  9. Smashin looking motor 8) Lovin' those door pods!
  10. Couldn't agree more. I've a Laserline but Autowatch have also been recommended to me by guys in the trade.
  11. I've a friend who works for a Clifford Dealer as a fitter. After being amazed by the difference in price between E-Bay and Dealers for Clifford stuff, I tackled him about it. An Avantguard can take as long as two days to fit apparently, so whilst the Alarm may be cheap on E-Bay, it will not come with fitting instructions and you'll have to pay someone to install it. The warranty is invalidated if it is not fitted by an approved Clifford installer. Given the complexity of these alarms, you really would want the benefit of a warranty. When these go wrong they go wrong BIG time. Even as a homer, he was looking £300 just to fit a G5 and it wouldn't include a warranty as he was installing it without his boss' knowledge. I've found Cliffords to be nothing but hassle anyway. Didn't bother in the end. Realistically, all you need from an alarm is something that makes a loud noise if someone breaks a window or opens a door. Mine locks the doors and activates the total closure too, which I think of as a bonus. Teamed with a good alarm and a tracker, your car will be as safe as you can make it. Throw in a big chain too as a visual deterant. All this fancy business of "smart battery charging," "autostart," "headlight control" etc only leads to the 10 year old loom in your car being butchered resulting in no end of electrical gremlins further down the line. Rant over :D
  12. I'd get your emissions checked and make sure the car's set up right. Might be running a bit rich. Also might be worth getting the diagnostics interogated with VAG-COM. Could be a dead or malfunctioning Lambda probe.
  13. Try right clicking and "save as" to your PC.
  14. Is it just me, or did the prospective buyer seem a little CAMP! :luvlove:

    fade-out cabin light

This would be a nice little mod.
  16. Here's a few of my latest purchase. I've been using it as a daily driver while the VR6 has been getting some work done ;) VR6 will be coming out of hibernation soon though and this will be for sale. It's a '96 Golf GTI Anniversary Want these wheels for my Corrado but couldn't possibly destroy the factory spec of this wee car.[:(!]
  17. Here's a wee Corrado that had fallen on hard times. I nursed it back to health and found a happy home for it.
  18. Maybe PhatVR6 could check things out via his contact and see if it's business as usual now? I know the guy that runs Turn2 was having some problems.
  19. Happy Days! Did you have to take the front of the centre console off to get at the wiring or just the ashtray and lighter?
  20. He's not taking any more orders. Wants to make sure he can actually get them first!
