  1. ISBN Number 389365187X Try http://www.amazon.de Maybe you can ask Waterstones to order it in for you?
  2. Don't fret! It works on the resistance from the sender. So without a sender connected, it reads off the scale. I replied to your PM before reading this.
  3. Yeah it should fit any Corrado as the gearknobs are standard across the range. Henny Did you deliberately get one with red illumination? They do them with green too.
  4. Think you'll beat me to fitting it too Henny. Just too many things to do at the moment. Post up some pics once it's in.
  5. Firstly, many thanks to Jeremy for producing the Sprinter, the committee of the Club for their hard work and the other members without whom there would be no Club. [schild=11 fontcolor=000000 shadowcolor=C0C0C0 shieldshadow=1]THANK YOU![/schild] I agree with all the points dinkus has made. However, I also understand the difficulties in amalgamating a free forum with voluntary contributions and a Club which charges a membership fee. Somewhere something has to change. I would rather hear andi and the CCGB Committees' feelings on the matter before commenting further as ultimatley it is up to them. Perhaps it is a matter for the Polls?
  6. Trust me Blue_Joemy signature's been like that for nearly a year. :) Not to worry, I've done the same thing myself. I've seen baffled sumps for other cars selling for £300 or more! Surely it isn't a big job baffling your existing one?
  7. Anyone know where a baffled sump can be had from?
  8. Brand New alternators are few and far between. Reconditioned ones seem to be the norm. I got a 90A one for £120 + exchange. Fitting basically involves removing the front end of the car. I know others have said that undoing the engine mounts and jacking the engine up gives enough clearance but this didn't work for me. My mechanic charged me 4 hrs labour for replacing the alternator. You can also get your alternator rebuilt. I was quoted £80 for this. Then discovered the coils were completely burnt out on mine, hence the new unit. :(
  9. 8014 is the part number for the standard Boss. Anyone know the number for the Boss to use with the Snap Off kit?
  10. I use McGuirs' 2 stage leather cleaning and conditioning creams. Don't pong like Autoglym and make the seats nice and subtle.
  11. If I want a snap off wheel, do I still need a Momo Boss to attach it to?
  12. Momo Runner looks V. Nice What size is the standard VW wheel??
  13. Have you got a link for that .pdf Anthony? Gearknob arrived today![schild=13 fontcolor=000000 shadowcolor=C0C0C0 shieldshadow=1]Yippeee![/schild]
  14. Top tip ;) Should I be looking for a Boss number 8014?
  15. Going to take a race up to the local Halfrauds Superstore on Friday and see which Momo wheels they have. I'd like to see one in the flesh before spending £150+ on it! Very wary of buying one on E-Bay as there are LOADS of fakes from the Far East there.
  16. Give Scorpion a call directly and see if they can help. Contact details here... http://www.scorpionalarms.com There are also downloadable manuals on this site.
  17. Looking for some ideas for a new steering wheel. I like the look of the Momo Millenium (pictured) but I'm open to better, and cheaper, suggestions. Please post a pic if possible. Cheers (thanks to riley for the pic ;) )
  18. Yeah. Storm did a guide for this... Here ya go http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17155 :)
  19. Difficult to estimate. You need to work it out in man hours, then add a few hours for head scratching as I'm sure there'll be problems. Then multiply those hours by the hourly rate the mechanic charges. If Storm is handy to you, you could ask him nicely to act as an advisor to the mechanic. To cut down on head scratching time. (add £40 for good bottle of whiskey) :)

    Door adjustment

Believe it or not there's a special VW tool for this! My mate borrowed it from the stealers he works in and fixed my door. It's basically a long bar with a couple of prongs on the end. Shove the prongs into the lock mechanism in the door shut, then pull it up violently. Cringed when I watched him do it, but worked a treat.

    Stealers!

With my first Corrado (also my first VW) I decided to drop it round to the Stealers for a full service and to get a new wishbone and front shocks fitted. Went back to pick it up with £280 in my pocket, thinking that would be more than enough since I had supplied the parts. Service reception girl gives me invoice for £420! I explain to her that I haven't enough on me, can I drop the rest in the next day? She taps on her keyboard for a minute or two and prints a new invoice. £280 will be fine sir! WTF!? Wish I'd told her I'd only a tenner on me. :) Strangely I haven't been near a Stealership since!
  22. Do you mean the mileometer and MFA are displaying ok, just don't illuminate with the other dash lights? If so, theres two standard little dash lights that screw into the back of the clock unit. Remove the clocks (daunting but straighforward) and take the bulbs down to Halfords to make sure you get the right ones.
  23. German and Swedish were doing 25 ltrs of Quantum Silver for £35 last time I was in!
