Well the front did actually go over the tree.. ;) The rear is actually a fair bit lower now and I'm hoping it's gonna settle down as well. The springs and shocks are both pukka VAG tho. 1H0 513 031F for the shocks 1H5 511 115K for the springs I'll take more pics tomorrow when I've got a bit more time and light tho :)

Yup, but the Mk4 calipers are alloy and a slightly different design, so they shouldn't rust up and cease like the standard C/Mk2 ones.

Yup, I've just had them put on my C. You need the Mk4 rear calipers and Mk2->Mk4 adapter hoses. The whole lot is about £200 from C&R.

Put a coke can on top of the back wheel so that we can all guage (and laugh at) the extent of your jacked up suspension, LOL! :lol: You could seriously fit a can (standing up!) between the tyre and the wheel. It's sitting a bit lower now it's got a full tank of petrol in there, but still :roll:

I've got pics on my camera sitting next to me, just no lead to get them onto the comp at the moment. I'll post em as soon as I get home tho :)

Oh I am, I'm gonna call them just as soon as I've had my lunch. I wanted to stick with the VAG stuff partly because of cost and partly cos I want to see what it's like. Everyone puts uprated stuff on and says it's way better then the VAG stuff, but they're comparing 10yrd old shagged stuff with new. I thought I'd put new VAG on and see what happens.

So it's back and it's err almost finished. A few points that I've noticed... 1. There's steam coming out of the bonnet!!! It's jetting coolant as steam from a big black pipe connected to the top rear of the head as you look at it from the front of the car. It looks like it just needs re-clamping properly 2. The bonnet doesn't sit quite level. 3. The plastic surround inside the filler cap isn't there, I've got all the parts, but they're still waiting for part of the plastic clip that holds it all in place, which is on back order, thus could take forever. 4. The ride it is stupidly high!! I took some pictures of it there, but it didn't have any petrol in it (seriously, just fumes) and it has only just been fitted. With any luck it'll settle down now it's got a full load of super in the tank. Other than that I'm very happy with it, the paintwork looks good (they buffed it all over!) and the car feels so much more planted than it did. Oh and the hanbrake works right at the bottom of it's travel too! Once the new pads have bedded in, it should be fantastic. Rock on :norty:

I know quite a lot of people are running Infinity Basslink powered subs, which fit nicely between the edge of the boot and the raised bit for the spare. Other people replaced the spare with a sub and amp instead. I'm no expert, but it's a start :)

I just got a call from the bodyshop and bugger me, it's all fixed! They were a bit concerned about how high the rear of the car is with the new suspension on it though :lol: Standard ride height on a Corrado isn't fun :( Oh well, at least it's all new (apart from the sodding top mounts :roll: ) The cheeky buggers also wanted to charge me £104 + VAT in extra labour to fit the new suspension/brake parts on top of what the insurance company were coughing up for which was a bit cheeky. I got em down to £100inc VAT in the end tho, so it's not tooo bad. Lastly, they couldn't get hold of the plastic surround that goes in the fuel filler cap, as it's on back order with VW in Germany. Anybody got one of them? Right, I'm off to return the red heap and get my C back!!

Yeah, but don't forget your gallons are smaller, so there's no way you're gonna get the same mpg as we do ;)

You may also find that once you get the wheel nuts off, the wheel itself has nicely corroded itself to the hub, which will require some 'gentle persuasion' with a lump hammer to come off. Make sure you put lots of copper slip on the wheel/hub first so it comes off a bit easier next time.

I've just got me a nice head unit and some decent front components.. now I'm not sure if I should go for some 6x9's on a stealth shelf, a basslink or both.... what you guys reckon? Oh and good luck with fixing yours Jim :(

My C seems to have been done pretty well so far, but I need to inspect it with a magnifying glass before I cough up the excess. Not gonna be happy unless it's perfect. They do seem like decent guys though and from the amount of pestering I've given them, I think they've done a good job the first time round instead of the second... we shall see though.

Be interesting to see if it's a 2.8 or 2.9... my guess is that it'll be a 2.8 :( I wonder how much of it will have been put together the wrong way round too :roll: :lol:
