  1. Should have added, any Storm fitted with Recaros will have them due to an aftermarket retro fit.
  2. Recaros were definately not available on the Storm. In fact no factory extras at all were available when ordering the Storm, with the exception of auto transmission. All down to production cost restraints enforced by VW when making the Storm exclusively for VAG UK.
  3. Ben, you're a gent! Tenner in the post  Hope it goes to an another Corrado nutter that's all. It deserves a good home! Tell your mates! Wish I'd gone to Worthersee now - what a memorable blast that would have been hey?!
  4. Kieron, I hear what you're saying mate, but it's gotta go. I've spent 3 years building it up to my dream spec and putting it back to standard and running it just isn't an option for me. All good things have to come to an end sometime..... Hope to catch you soon?
  5. Nice car Jim. 107k miles won't have caused it any problems I'm sure. I bet most of the miles were on the m/way. Does it have a full VW history? Regards the paint, you'd be better off having the car machine polished with a professional cutting compound to take the scratches away. A good wax after will have it looking like glass :) .
  6. Thanks for the kind comments chaps. Shall be a sad sad day, but somethings just have to be done.
  7. Bally - cheers mate :D dr_mat - I'm hoping it's going to go to another enthusiast. It's been loved all it's life, so hopefully it'll continue with the next owner....
  8. Andy, trust me, this is VERY difficult! Neil, I like your style! I'll be selling bits when I know the car is def required standard.
  9. Hi Kev, It's not the car, it's me! The car is exactly were I wanted it - I just feel I need to move on. And yes it's probably due to my priorities changing as of late. This car is part of me and I'll be in depression for a long time after we part! But sometimes you just gotta do the right thing   If the car has to be totally standard, then I'll do exactly that. Depends on who buys it I guess?
  10. Mate I've really no idea! All I can confidently say is it's a pretty unique example. It took me 9 months to find the car - because I'm so damn fussy! It's so difficult to value because it has so many positives: * Low miles, full history. * Peach of an engine - freakish output, no oil consumption! * Mint condition * Fully specified - try finding one with the list this car has! It's certainly a rarer car than a Storm! What would you say it's worth, cos I'm struggling.
  11. Hi all. Extremely reluctantly I'm going to have to sell my pride and joy  I'll post up properly later in the for sale section with more details etc. I'll probably be selling it as a standard car, unless someone out there wants it as it is - but we'll have to discuss this as it has some of the most desirable and extremely rare modifications you can do on a VR. A truly special example of a very fine car. It was ordered with every factory optional extra specified apart from auto and full size spare. Also has air con. It's mint! Please browse through this thread to get an idea what the car is like. It's got a HUGE file of history/receipts/all MOTs and even original receipt of sale. The car has 77k on the clock. If anyone is SERIOUSLY interested please call me on 07901 726 669 to discuss.
  12. Thanks mate! Absolutely - will be trimming a Recaro baby seat in beige leather! Will possibly have the world's first Corrado with 3 beige leather Recaros seats
  13. No time! I'm a dad now :D No mods on the car for a while. The VWM VSR took a bit of sorting to get 100% - unichip etc. Now sorted and she flies! Car is pretty much complete I think, and I'm happy. Besides now I'm a dad I'm out of time and cash to do anything more!!
  14. Are you sure? The koenigsports have the Koni adjustable dampers, surely they are as good? Storm, read it as FK Konigsport coilovers or an even better set up, or H&R springs/Koni Top adjustables
  15. At the end of the day only you know what specific requirements you have for your car. Personnally if I was after a car to do track days in regularly I'd go for the Porsche 944, or 968. I think it's a better track car than the Corrado. As Kev says above with a few choice mods you'll get the Corrado to perform well on the track, but the 944 ultimately will be better suited in both unmodified and modified states. If gonna use your car for occasional track days, but will mainly use it on the road, go for the Corrado. It's alot more interesting and charismatic as a road car than the 944. 2.9 VR6 v 2.5/3.0 4 pot - no contest :D Just my 2p worth mind
  16. If you're after spark plugs for the VR but don't want to shell out on (40k life) platinum go to VW and buy the shorter life versions (good for 20k) which are made by NGK. They are far superior than the Beru versions.
  17. Fooking 'ell that's a creation! Well done mate. Look forward to seeing it in the metal 8)
  18. ovalthemoon Hoses have landed - you'll have them tomorrow, Thurs latest.
  19. The VR6 handles superbly. It's always been considered one of the finest handling front wheel drive cars. If you go from say a 330 BMW to a Corrado VR6 you will certainly sense the fact that there is a big old lump over the front end, but the car is so well set up that it doesn't adversely affect handling. If you can get behind the wheel of a well set up VR6 you'll see for yourself. I say well set up as many VR6s have covered high miles, and if the suspension is original it will disappoint you! Try and find a low mileage car, or one that has had new suspension components fitted. A chap called Ken Lark races the Corrado VR6 and has been hugely successful with it. Fitting a LSD will definitely improve matters. Are you intending to track the car?
  20. Hi Andy. Congratulations mate - fantastic news and looks like you had a great time 8)
