Do you need the alternator Kev? PM me if you do as I have one that's of a v low mileage car.
-
Not if you use it properly mate - mine when done lasts 5-6 washes before needing a light coat to bring em back  Agree Scott, I find it last ages.. You've just got to build it up in regular light applications.
-
Thanks mate - just what I wanted to hear :D
-
I've found Armour trim cleaner (not the prorector stuff) is also very good. Then use the AutoGlym bumper care and you'll have perfect trim - awesome :D
-
That'll be great. The 2.0 16v box has taller ratios compared to the 1.8 16v.

Cheers bud :D Love the avatar pic btw! -
carbonio = waste of time/money mate. Suggest you go K&N filter in airbox, Magnex/Milltek exhaust and then a remap. Or if you want to spend more cash it's Schrick VGI, cams and a flowed throttle body.

Great to hear as I have a a Mk3 16v box for my Mk1 G60 conversion too. Out of interest, what do the revs sit at when doing 80mph? Assuming you've driven that slowly!

Cheers Kev. RS overload? No such thing mate  -
Jim, it's more the cables than the mech that will need adjusting. Ask vr6dom as he mastered this on his own car!

A good point! I suggest that I should have received payment for the kits by Friday 17th Sept ie. cheques should be with me this time next week (13th) so that they can clear by the 17th. Or pay me by paypal. If you are interested PM me with your details as I mentioned in the first post above. The kits do not come with clips.

ok

Should be no problem to ship them to you. Should be no custom issues?

I've fitted 6x4 Infinity's in mine which do the job very well. 6x4s are never going to sound fantastic, but for a mid to upper range fill they're ok. I'm happy with these Infinity's. Sorry I don't have the model number to hand but from memory they cost about 50 quid.

MoonlightVR replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
You should be fine mate as your car isn't stupidly low. What offset are your wheels? -

Mods, please can you sticky this! Thanks! Prices (inc VAT) are as follows: Mk2 Golf 16V (most fit C 16V too) - £96.18 Corrado G60 coolant - £141.42 Corrado G60 charger (listed lhd) - £97.37 Corrado VR6 - £185.87 Postage £7.95 Lead time 4-8 weeks. Colours and info on: http://www.samcosport.com/kits.asp This is a big saving on retail, eg. VR6 kit normally retails at £265.53  If there is enough interest I can arrange a group buy for you lot. I already have Samcos, so I have nothing to gain from this apart from helping you guys out! This will be the second Samco GB I'll be sorting out, so I will be particularly keen to make it hassle free! If you are SERIOUSLY interested send me a PM with your name, address and which kit and colour you require. If you're a time waster God help you!! I'll then need payment from you. I'd suggest a cheque or PayPal (you pay the costs!). Don't forget to add postage, unless you want to pick them up from the Reading area. I'll also be at Edition 38 this Sunday on the CCGB stand so you can pay me then if you prefer. I'm generally offline during the day, but will respond in the evenings. If you have any questions, please ask them on this thread. Oh, and if you're worried about me running off with your $$$ don't be, there's plenty of people on here who will vouch for me, I hope  Cheers Asim Stickied - Cheers, Kev

Autostyle (premier) are also very high quality, but not cheap. IMO they're worth it as the fit and appearance is superb. http://www.autostyle.co.uk/ Just Matz are supposed to be very good too: http://www.justmatz.co.uk/

MoonlightVR replied to biggerbigben's topic in General Car Chat
CoxyLaad I agree. Having tried it I neither like the look, or how it drives. While it's not totally dangerous, it's definitely not the best way to mount a tyre. To be honest I only went this way at the time as I wanted a slight dish to the wheel (so went up to 8" wide), and 195s are the max size for a Mk1 without serious arch mods. -

195 on a 8" will be a good stretch - have this on my Mk1s RS's but I don't like the stretch look all that much. 205 might be safer overall though.
