  1. dinkus, Whilst I hear what you're saying about delaminating etc. They only really perish a lot if left outside, in sunlight, rainwater etc. As the car is kept in a heated garage most of the time it's never really been a problem. But this is precisely WHY I am looking to replace them now. StuartFZR400, Which Toyos did you have? As I have said, the Campaign has Proxies on, which are a very good tyre, but haven't been used in anger, or done many mile either.
  2. Ah, need and want are two completely different things aren't they?
  3. Well, there you are you see. I won't be doing track days on them, and 1500 miles would probably be two years driving for the Rocco. And I've now managed to track down some for about £67 each, so it's looking a more realistic proposition.
  4. Okay folks, bearing in mind the Rocco does about 1k miles at most per year, always in the dry, I was looking at getting some sexy tyres to replace the 11 year old Yoko A510s that are on it now. I was looking at the Toyo R888 tyre (seen below) which is a "road slick" so to speak. Just wondering if anybody had any experience of these or similar tyres. If I can get them to last three or four years then I'd be happy. Also they cost in excess of £100 each, and I need all four :) Sexy as fuff though...
  5. Welcome, wonder which one of these cars it was that trapped a certain journalist's wallet under the spoiler ;)
  6. billinjahg60, They always go that way around Mallory - they used the chicane just after devil's elbow... ZippyVR6, erm... not certain to be honest, wouldn't know her if I saw her... She was bored whoever she was :) chrishill, Cheers matey :) It was a top day.
  7. LMAO @ bristolbaron, loving it/her :)
  8. Well, had a great time out on Sunday at Mallory Park, a bit cold... but some lovely hardware pounding around... Usual place for all the pics autoposter.co.uk A few examples for you...
  9. Mike, I'll probably be up for it... not certain if I ever actually registered though... :)
  10. There was a period of about 6 months a couple of years ago when they used a photo of my Storm about 5 times... kept cropping up as the standard "We need a photo of a scirocco, how about this one... " :)
  11. Is the 2nd part of the RR feature in this months then (after missing last months...)
  12. Not recently used them, but ALWAYS used to use them when I had the G60. Quite a lot of the expertise left when Brian did, but haven't heard too much about them recently. Be interested in the results if people have used them recently.
  13. My M-Station is fitted in the off-side rear panel in the boot (opposite to where the autochanger normally goes). I can't take a photo at the mo, as the C is in it's wrapper. Fits quite nicely there though, using the extra-long M-Station cable to the control panel which is sat in front of the gear knob panel.
  14. Got around to sifting through the other 100 or so shots tonight, I've posted the full collection now on http://www.autoposter.co.uk ... but here's a few samples of the latest batch...
  15. Oh, and saw a drain cleaning company van with WH05HAT
  16. Bentley Continental GT around here has 80LOX :) Also, my boss drives a Bentley with ROS1E as her number plate...
  17. "A what...?" Down the road at the Seat dealers... "oooh, I always wanted one of those :)"
  18. STO2M sold last summer, for about £2k I think... I was gonna bid on it for my Rocco, but couldn't get the cash together.
  19. Also seen in the BBC soap about the boat builders yard ... "Howards Way", which also featured a Scirocco too :) Personally, I love 'em - was looking at a Mk1 version (less body kit) about 18 months ago, but the guy wanted too much money.
  20. I don't think you'd've got a display - there were very few car clubs there, and nearly all of those that were were motorsport type clubs. Cool show though, met Stirling Moss, Russel Brooks and (short chubby bloke, used to be on Top Gear back in the day, Rally driver/co-driver) in the Media office, had Tea with them, well, they were sat at the same table.
  21. Cheers Rob, I particularly liked the Lancia 037. There's another shot which would've been brilliant if only it hadn't had a marker post in front of the door as it whizzed along ...
  22. Which one Dinkus, or all of them? I love the look of the Lancia 037 - and that Super/Turbo charged Dino engine :)
  23. Managed to get a press pass for the above show, and saw some awesome Group B Rally Cars about 5 foot away :) Loads of piccies at http://www.autoposter.co.uk (although, only processed about a third of the 300 odd photos taken so far) Here's some samples...
