  1. I'll be contraversial (speeeling!) and say Corrado Campaign or MkII Scirocco Storm ... oh wait ... Maybe a W12 Roadster then :)
  2. Good luck with it all, looking forward to seeing this next year 'o!
  3. 35 - about £230 Fully comp, agreed value on the C £129 Fully Comp, agreed value on the (heavily modded) Scirocco £485 Fully comp on the unmodified Passat - go figure!
  4. Also, the following should be noted... (from DVLA Web-Site) So I think, actually, my Campaign plates should be okay as 1) they were fitted before 2001, and 2) they are "substantially" the same as the standard ones :)
  5. What I've found is that it is definitely worth getting an RAC/AA type engineers report on the repairs. If the guy is genuine if you ask him to pay for it up front, then if it turns out okay you refund him the money (or pay correspondingly more). I've found this works quite well really. Then at least you'll be more certain of exactly what you're buying.
  6. But the NOTW thought that Stig Mk1 was Damon Hill ...
  7. P.S. Nipping into town at lunch, so I'll see if they've got a copy of PVW at the local store :) Well done on the cover - that takes some doing.
  8. I'd probably be upset for about 5 minutes and throw a few curses in their general direction, but as Jay says, it's not structural and, hey, free brand new door... Wouldn't mind that on the Campaign to iron out the trolley dents ...
  9. Believe it, one of my friends had his private plate taken off him about 5 years ago, AND they took away his MOT making him have another test with correct plates. He was stopped three times in 6 weeks. This was a rare occurance back then, nowadays I'm not so sure ...
  10. Good to hear you're okay matey - looks like it was a bad smash....
  11. Yeah, but simple deceleration from 70 to 0 in the twinkle of an eye would kill you, not the usual problem with car crashes which is you impacting with something like the steering column or windscreen.
  12. Simple answer is NO... I saw this when it was on earlier this year... Better condition than the other small cars, but still nobody would've survived...
  13. It's a kind of introverted jealousy I guess... Don't understand these people who diss these cars myself, and I'm not even a (Corrado) Storm owner, as I said on my web-site about 7 or 8 years ago "I wouldn't mind a Storm", but for me being in the right place at the right time helped out a lot more...
  14. Cool - Corrado on Monte Carlos (that's not a Campaign)... Well done chaps!
  15. I suspect that this was some "bullsh*t" from somewhere meself - I think that even over £10k is stretching it... but, hey I can dream can't I? Wasn't me putting out the rumours though ;) I know what both me and (roughly) Jimbo paid for ours, and if they're worth THAT kind of money, I would be a very happy chappy :)
  16. Same as a standard, but in my case irrelevant, as it's insured on a classic policy.
  17. I think that's because most people outside of the Corrado fraternity don't even have a clue there IS a Corrado Campaign...
  18. Yeah, it's not live in the UK, but same day is a close second and hey at least Murray's back :)
  19. Bet that can drink for Germany ;)
  20. Yeah, got the video programmed already (I'll be out photographing waterfalls at the time :( )
  21. Probably not, as I pass the Midlands' biggest Bentley Dealers on the way to work, and they've always got Flying Spurs, Continentals, Gallardos, Ferraris etc. etc.
  22. Mk1 will fit, but the damper rates etc. won't be too hot 'coz they're different weights and balances...
  23. Okay, so I wanna get this done but am ubercrap at anything welding/metal cutting type thingy myself :( Anybody willing to do one for me? I've got the seats (S3 Leather/alcantera ones), just need the bases etc.
  24. Just to add a little peneth, I believe there was also a batch of 6 16v Mk2s converted to RHD by a garage down on South Coast (can't remember the name). I actually had the chance to "sprint" against one at GTi International about 10 years ago when I'd just had my 1.9 engine fitted to the Storm, but he never made it off the line, so never really got the chance to compare :( I still love the rocco over the Raddo for point to point sprinting, even as a track car, but on long cruises the Raddo wins every time. Also as RW1 says, fuel economy is great on a good one, I usually get 45mpg in the Storm, I've seen over 55mpg 8)
