Hi folks. I've got the carpets out of my G60 at the moment drying off after a heater matrix leak - used the opportunity to give them a bloody good wash. While I was removing the carpets, I noticed that the sound proofing / underlay (andele andele arriba arriba!) was sopping wet, so I've thrown it out. Typically, I know find replacements aren't available. What do people use to replace the underfelting? I can get the rubbery soundproofing, but the thick foam felt/matting stuff appears to be elusive to me. Any tips? Dave

Hi, still looking for this. CHeers all.

Hi folks. Need a new(er) exhaust for my early G60. Middle box and rear box required, but full system (downpipe back) would do as well! Don't mind make as long as it's not too loud, stainless or mild, not bothered provided it's not got holes in like mine! I can get a custom system made up for £340 but it's a bit rich for my wallet at the moment! Cheers folks!

I've managed to source installation instructions for the alarm system. Doesn't look too bad but it appears its spliced into wiring for the fuel pump, starter, and ignition coil. I'm printing out some wiring diagrams as we speak but hopefully most are just done on the relay side!

Hi folks. So while my dash is out as I'm doing the heater matrix, I figured I might as well remove the dodgy non working alarm system, in the hopes that it is the source of my battery drain. Here's some wonderful pictures. https://imgur.com/a/cbLi6 So here's what I've found. As you can see, it's a Laserline 994. Which according to my google searches, doesn't exist. Grand. The fuse box is a MESS. Not sure what's original, what's to do with the radio (non-gen Sony head unit), not sure what's to do with the alarm system. I've removed the large control unit (which was actually nicely hidden behind the drivers side foot rest) and the two interior sensors on the upper A pillars. There was a second control unit thing in the middle of the dash, which linked up to a few earth points and the sensors. One of the pictures shows a red and black wire connected to each other which go through the bulkhead, definately not genuine, definately dodgy as hell, but no idea what they're for. The very last picture shoes a smallish loom coming through the bulkhead on the lower left middle of the dash. All of those wires are from the main control unit from the alarm, but I can't work out the other side of them. There's a connector just the other side of the bulkhead in the engine bay which doesn't look genuine. It looks to be spliced into the main engine wiring loom, and I can't trace it at all. The main areas I need help with are the fusebox and the ignition switch. The wiring for the ignition switch has been mangled with the install of the alarm and I've no idea how it looks as standard. The fusebox has hardly any access to it with all the wires, and I'm worried if I unplug it all I'll never put it back together correctly. Anyone had experience with this alarm system before? Anyone had the joy of removing an old alarm system? Most importantly - Has anyone got pictures of the wiring under the dash on a stock corrado? It'd be a massive help. Cheers guys! Dave.

Hi Folks. I'm planning ahead to some minor-ish upgrades to my G60 once i've got her all sorted. Looking into a FMIC for support to some other upgrades, however they're all MASSIVELY expensive. Some of them are more than I spent on the entire car! Are there any alternatives to the Golf G60 one? I'm seriously loathed to spend quite that much on what's actually quite a simple part, especially when most after market intercoolers are only a few hundred quid. Would a 'universal' one fit? Presumably I'd need some mounting brackets and pipes made up. Presumably the required pipes etc to fit a universal one would bring the total price to around the same as the golf G60 one?

Managed to have a look. I could sell 1.5 litres of G13 for £8.50 including vat, but its quite heavy so postage would be a fair bit. I took some photos so you lot can see where the dilution ratios are. :) Lovely G13. And the back. Oh, what's this? Hazard warnings! In all the languages. But whats under that 2? Confirmed compatibility with G12++ and G12+. And the dilution ratios. Dave.

Saw a blue one Huntington Road going out of York city centre on saturday lunchtime-ish. Didn't catch the reg but looked lovely!

Looks about right! I had my feet resting on the rear headrest (front seat all the way down and back) to undo some of the bits!

G60 heater matrix - urgent help (currently upside down in car!)

In order to tension the nut against the bolt, or break the plastic mounting for the bolt on the heaterbox? -
G60 heater matrix - urgent help (currently upside down in car!)
Thursdave replied to Thursdave's topic in Engine Bay
Right, been trying this for the past 4 days now. I've got everything apart form this last nut in the engine bay done. The blower motor and housing is undone and out (currently drying off, too), the hoses are undone, and it's just this one bloody nut. I've tried it with a ratchet spanner on it and holding the bolt in place with mole grips and that doesn't work. I've tried with another person pulling on the heater box inside the car to tension it and trying to undo it in the engine bay and THAT doesn't work either. I'm in two minds to just file the bloody thing off now, but surely there's got to be another way to remove it that i'm missing? -

for future reference, this tool (or one similar) makes taking those spring hose clamps off really, really easy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flexible-Reach-Flexi-Ratchet-Pliers/dp/B00LN8C89E/ref=sr_1_6?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1408972495&sr=1-6&keywords=spring+clamp+pliers -

Hmm, OK. So if I keep undoing the nut it should come out anyway? Handy. -

Managed to undo the spring clamps on the pipes, god bless the correct tool! Makes it easy. Got one of the two matrix nuts undone, but the other is spinning on the bolt. Arse. Will have to con someone into helping tomorrow. Still no luck on the plastic nut on the inside. -

Is there a guide for doing it by taking the whole dash out? -
G60 heater matrix - urgent help (currently upside down in car!)

Doing it without removing the dash. Might have to get a long 10mm socket and try it that way. -
Hi folks. Having real difficulty changing out my heater matrix in my early G60. I've removed the glovebox and lower dash trim, I've removed the one bolt for the blower motor housing in the n/s of the engine bay, but I can't for the life of me. Get the two matrix bolts out in the engine bay, or the large plastic nut which holds the fan up. Nor can I get one of the coolant pipes off of the matrix in the engine bay. Silly spring clip that looks to be bent out of shape slightly. Anybody got any tips? There's **** all room for the two bolts in the engine bay and I've tried everything on the plastic fan nut. Typing this up in my phone with my head under the dash and my feet on the rear head rests!

1995 (M Reg) Corrado VR6 Breaking - Updated with Pictures

hi fella, have you got a bonnet cable? -
There's not that much profit in G13, to be honest. I'll have a look when I'm back in work on Tuesday. £11 sounds right for retail prices.
-
After a second hand one, really, can't afford that much on a simple cable!

G13 is the newest VWAG coolant. It's pretty much the same as G12, G12+ and G12++, but formulated to be nice to the newer aluminium blocks that are coming through the range now. Rule of thumb: if it's diluteable/concentrated, there WILL be a dilution ratio somewhere on there. On G13 coolant, you have to peel one of the front stickers away - there's a second layer of sticker behind it with additional instructions in myriad languages and dilution ratios. On the screenwash, it's the same. Future reference: 1.5L of G13 coolant = G 013 A8J M1 part number. Available at any VWAG dealer (Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW or VW Vans), or TPS centre. Sadly 1.5L is the only one you'll probably buy - you can get it in 60L drums (or 208L Barrels) but despite asking VW wont/don't make a 5L can. (Source: I'm parts manager for a SEAT Garage ;) )

Hi folks, my bonnet cable snapped last night and I need a replacement. Not sure if they're different but mines an early shape G60. Money waiting, cheers.

Still after a sill folks, any ideas were to get?

go on then. 1: I have size 15 UK feet (16 US / 50 EU). Yes, they're massive. 2: I enjoy shooting people in my spare time - In fact, i just sold an M60 light machine gun to pay for some corrado bits! :D (Airsoft - it's similar to paintball but better.) 3: I've got grand plans including little arduino computers and possibly a raspberry pi which hopefully will amount to a computer controlled rear spoiler angle mechanism (which also would act as an air-brake when under heavy braking... ;) )

hi folks - After an early offside sill for my '91 G60. Colour unimportant but condition needs to be pretty good. Cheers.
