  1. Problem is VW of America have admitted they've done wrong already. We've had emails flinging around about the 'allegations' of emissions tampering. It's not allegations anymore, they're admitted it. it is emissions tampering and/or fraud. While I doubt they'll see the full potential of the $18Bn fine they could be up for, this wont be cheap - i'd guess $5Bn as a minimum, plus whatever they've already lost off their share prices, PLUS the cost of the recall, PLUS the class action lawsuit already being talked about against them, PLUS any potential golden handshakes to owners after the recall makes their cars perform much much worse. It pretty much couldn't be any worse for an auto manufacturer. At least with the japanese airbag issue, they could blame a third party manufacturer, this is all on VW's head. Say goodbye to those F1 team hopes!
  2. Potentially me! What car are they off mate?
  3. One of the 18 G60's that went from SORN to licenced early this year is mine! As if there's less than 300 on the road!
  4. I priced up the Lupo conversion a month or two ago for someone on here, sadly they're megabucks now. I've actually bent the arms on my G60 to give more pressure after I realised that mine were skimming on the surface and not actually wiping! I've got that conversion set on my '54 plate SEAT Ibiza, they're pretty good and look nice and OEM. RRP is only £31.43 (so much for that 'free' postage!)Best I can do is £24.14 for the pair, plus postage (not sure what that'd be on a pair of wipers, it's a strange shape box to post). Happy to look further into it if people want :)
  5. did these fibreglass ones ever get a run made?

  8. Saw a black C going through Goole this afternoon while on the way back from doing my shopping! Think it was an M reg (M7 something?), black with wind deflectors and a cursive Only Charged Dubs sticker on the front windscreen.
  9. One of the benefits of having 'proper' ETKA and not relying on partscats.info is you can do a brand wide search from a part number to see exactly what the hell some bits are. ;)
  10. An awful lot of them simply aren't available any more, however for the sill's etc you can still get them from VW classic parts. Comes in three pieces, if I remember correctly - there's the whole A pillar section, the mid sill part, and the rear quarter panel. Actually, I've got the links saved in my favourites! Here's the battery tray: http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/console-535803093.html A pillar section: http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/scirocco-corrado/corrado/body/exterior/sub-part-535809840a.html centre sill section: http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/scirocco-corrado/corrado/body/exterior/sub-part-535809848.html rear quarter (the expensive bit!) http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/scirocco-corrado/corrado/body/exterior/sub-part-535809844a.html Hope that helps, Dave
  11. I use tapatalk and I've not come accross this? I know you can create a tapatalk account (which it then may use to create accounts on the various forums if you want) but I've always just logged in with my usual login/password combinations on all the different forums i'm got saved on tapatalk (4 forums each with unique usernames so far!)

  19. Out of interest (as I need to replace my wings sooner rather than later!) how did you strip the wings down? Did you use any paint stripper, or just a flap wheel on a grinder?
  20. I can get them from VW still, if you're interested. RRP £23.74 each, to you £20 each. Cheers, Dave.
  21. OK, so for the past few weeks I've been slowly accumulating parts to get to the bottom of this, I ordered in new VW ball joints, front wishbone bushes, R32/TT rear wishbone bushes (because upgrade), ARB drop links, tyres and complete track rods with ends (from Heritage, obsolete from VW :() Yesterday I got around to starting to fit things in a methodical way - I figured I can do one thing at once and by trial and error work out what the problem was. So I started off by fitted the track rods, as quite frankly, they were easiest! Once they were on, I can do the ball joints next weekend, then the bushes, so on and so forth, but guess what! The track rods fixed my issue of the steering losing it's centre! I've now got to track it up (and change rear axle bushes as the rear end is a bit skittery) but it's miles better already. Thought you lot would like to know :)
  22. The ones I got from Heritage for my G60 were Meyle - seemed to be good quality, fit first time, nice reassuring weight to them!
