https://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_vwclassicParts.search.htm?classicSearchText=357867169++2VK obsolete from VW UK, but classic parts are listing them :)

These people advertise in VW Driver magazine, not used them before, no affiliation etc, but worth a look? http://theengineshop.info/acatalog/1800-G60-Engine-037100103AXV.html

Hi folks, about time to change the boots on my G60, and I need some recommendations! By the looks of the thread, the RE002's are the most recommended, is there any other tyre I should be considering? After something with good dry grip, and reasonable wet/cold grip as m G60 is a daily driver, and I'm planning on taking it to Germany for a second attempt at the Nurburgring nest year (hopefully I wont break down in belgium next time!)
-
You speak (type?) very good english, much better than our attempts at your mother tongue would be! Would you only recommend the Weicher strut bars?
-
Cor, thats a big pair of posts! Thanks for that, Redfox, it confirms what I was thinking - start with uprated front (and additional rear) Anti roll bars, then strut braces to stiffen it up more.
-
Maybe wallowy isn't the right word - there's a bit of body roll when I turn in, and I'd like to eliminate most of that, if possible. Not fussed about adjustability on either ride height or damper settings, just less body roll, and a firmer ride. The front shocks are new (changed just before the MoT, along with the springs and top mounts and front brakes) so shouldnt be faulty. Budget around £400 or so.

Sorry if I'm asking a question thats been answered before, but 101 pages is a lot to look through! My G60 is a bit wallowy through the corners, and I'd like to firm it up a bit. What would be better for that? Not looking for lows (although a little bit wouldn't go a miss), but less roll and a bit firmer ride is what I'm after. Would a set of coilovers or a set of ARB's be better for that? EDIT: Or a set of front upper and lower and rear strut braces?

I'd be interested in this, at the moment I'm seriously considering putting bonnet pin catch things on just to get rid of the godawful cable mech!

Thin or thick ones? thin = 323867389 = http://www.ecstuning.com/ES251024/ thick = 323867389A = http://www.ecstuning.com/ES332327/ both available classic parts through heritage https://www.vwheritage.com/vw.cfm?act=vwclassicParts.search&classicSearchText=323867389&country=GB&lang=EN

This looks brilliant! Any chance of the part number from the cup holder you used? I need this in mine and should be able to find out what deal I can do for the forum :)
-
I know it's not that same engine, but my early G60 averages about 32mpg, get about 320 miles to a tank which costs around £55 on premium.
-
All sorted, thanks anyway folks :)

I'd love to help but sadly can't make it, hopefully someone should be able to help out!

Driving through huntington, york today and saw a nice clean looking dark green VR6 parked up on a drive. non standard wheels but looked amazing!

Hi folks, got to my car this afternoon to give it a tidy and found my drivers headlamp smashed and a lovely present of a stone inside the reflector! So, I urgently require an early drivers headlamp glass, or if nobodies got one, i'll have to go for a full headlamp unit. Cheers in advance.

there's two different part numbers, depending on your chassis number. up to ...50-R-000898 it's 1H0412341, and AFTER ...50-R--000899 it's 1J0412341. hope that helps :)

fuel locking solenoid is the same on all corrado's, and on '88-'93 Passats (and on Audi V8's, whatever they were!) part number: 357862153A, classic parts should be able to get it for you :)
-
Yep, Lupo GTI Drivers wiper arms are that part number. RRP £59.17 each, or PM me for a price to you using to forum discount ;)
-
Hmm, interesting. I'll consider that...

Hello good people! I've managed to lose the 'eye bolt' from my G60 power steering tensioner - It's like a normal bolt with a nut as the head instead of an actual bolt head. That's the picture of it from ETKA, VW Heritidge can get me one, but not for 3 weeks, and the squeaky noise from the loose belt is driving me insanse! I'm hoping one of you lovely people will have one spare, failing that I'll had to grin and bear it until VW Heritidge can get me one. Cheers, Dave.

Pop along then! will be good to put some names to faces! I've just got a set myself after realising the speed clips on my G60 had snapped when taking it off to attempt changing the wing! There's not an easy way, sadly. VW's systems work on a part number by part number basis, so you can only do it one at a time, which is a bit of a pain! Obviously some parts are obsolete, and sadly with the age of the things more and more are going that way each yeah, but between VW Heritage and classic parts and now myself we should have most stuff covered! Dave

Hello everybody! I've contacted the Admins and am delighted to offer you lovely bunch of people some very nice discount on all VW parts! I've recently become the manager of the parts department at Marshalls VW Scun thorpe, and so am happy to offer trade prices to all the members here on the-corrado.net You can either collect the parts yourself from me here inScun thorpe (It's not that bad a place, honest!) and have a chat and a drink while you're here (and check out the lovely lovely new cars in the showroom) or, depending on the size and weight of the parts you need, I'll post them out to you. Just send me a PM on here with as much information as possible about your Corrado (registration at bare minimum!) and what parts you need and I'll provide you with both the part number and a price, hopefully the next day depending on how busy we are, and we can go from there! Payment by cash on collection (At our VW branch in Scun thorpe only) or via debit/credit card over the phone. Unfortunately I will not be able to accept paypal at this time, but I will be looking into it in the future. As an example (the first few parts I could think of!) This is the types of discount available, but obviously there's more discount available on some parts than others:

PART NUMBER DESCRIPTION ENGINES RRP FORUM PRICE

06A-115-561-B OIL FILTER KR/9A/2E/ADY £8.48 £4.98

021-115-562 OIL FILTER VR6 £17.76 £10.44

191-129-620 AIR FILTER ALL £17.68 £10.4

1H0-201-511-A FUEL FILTER PG/ABV/2E/ADY £14.23 £8.37

1H0-422-831-B STEERING RACK GAITER ALL BUT VR6 £27.29 £23.57

191-501-541 REAR AXLE BUSH ALL BUT VR6 £49.83 £43.98

191-615-611-D/612-B REAR BRAKE SPLASH SHIELDS ALL £25.22 £23.5

6X0-721-173-A -01C BRAKE/CLUTCH PEDAL RUBBERS ALL £5.14 £4.58

N -015-946-1 FRONT SPOILER COACH BOLTS ALL £0.59 £0.35

N 10147301 FRONT SPOILER SPEED CLIP ALL £1.06 £0.62

All prices include VAT, postage will have to be on a case by case basis. Tyre wear looks even, and the whole front suspension is new, so shouldn't be that. I'll have a check of the rack mounts this weekend and go from there. Thanks for all the help guys :)

Sweet. Tricky job to do or can I do it on my drive?
