  1. Hmm, you're right. I'll check the back of them tomorrow.
  2. The first red one looks like it splices into a standard red wire, so I'm guessing that's a leftover from the alarm I ripped out. Still no wipers though? can't see anything lose or unplugged on the back?
  3. Took some pictures. Why is there not enough wiring to get the fuse board out far enough to actually see the back of it!? Any ideas where the above go?
  4. Hmm, ok. I'll check tomorrow. Is it likely I've just knocked a plug lose then?
  5. by locking bar do you mean the little white plastic clippy thing?
  6. Howdy folks, starting to get ****ed off with my G60. Treated it to a new bonnet cable catch thanks to the group buy on the forum, and removed/unclipped the fuseboard to feed the cable back through into the engine bay (now it won't unclasp the bonnet, but thats a problem for another day!) and since re-attaching the fuseboard to the two hook things it rests in my wipers (front and rear) washers, interior fan and sunroof don't work. Any chance these are all on a common relay? Have i knocked an earth wire loose somewhere on the back of the fuse board? Any ideas? all the relays are seated and none of the fuses are blown so I'm stumped.
  7. No, Elite: Dangerous is the reboot of Elite ;)
  8. Howdy mate. quick questions: What colour code is it, do you know? are the drivers door and boot lid rust free? if they are, how much collected? (Leeds ain't that far away!)
  9. parts numbers are shared/common between the big 5 brands (VW, VW CV, Audi, Skoda, SEAT) so if you've found the part number on VW Etka, provided it's been used on a SEAT, you should be able to order it from SEAT.
  10. Yeah, that's what I'd read, davidwort. Problem is, a replacement set of standard G60 ones (from vw heritage) is about £25, whereas even at trade/cost price, the mk3 conversion is over £100, and money's tight at the moment.
  11. All my suspension was new 10k ago, upgraded to r32 rear wishbone bushes and new ARB drop links before the germany trip, but the top mounts are shot, like I said. I've had a search and can't find a definitive list of parts, obviously because it's not factory fit I can't just look it up on ETKA, sadly. has anyone on here gone from early to late topmounts?
  12. Howdy folks. Need to get my G60 handling better - my top mounts are shot (not helped by some truly horrible cobbled roads in Ghent then a lap around the 'ring). They were new pattern parts about 10k miles ago, so I want to prevent it happening again - I've heard the later mk3 golf / VR6 are much better, but I cant find any solid 'this is what you need' info. Any help?
  13. Can't tell you what the difference is, but they're different part numbers for the bulkhead firewall heatshield for a VR6 and a G60. G60: 191803326C VR6 (with airbag!): 536803312A Both obsolete now, sadly. There's yet a third one listed for standard '4-cylinder' models: 536803312 Obsolete also :(
  14. Whereabouts in norfolk, Mal? That's my old stomping ground! If you ever use Norwich TPS for any bits, ask for Miff and tell him Big Dave sent you!

    Ignition

Hijacking the thread here, but relevant - my ignition switch on my '91 G60 has never given me any troubles, but would it be worth changing it out anyway as a preventative measure?
  16. The newest polo GTI is a lovely place to be. I drove one as part of a course by VW (come and see what brilliant cars we build!) and the Polo GTI was by far the best of the bunch. I'm 6'6 and built like an outhouse, and was comfortable in it. Not much room behind the drivers seat, like, but a brilliant drive. Surprisingly, Ups have a vast amount of space inside also.
  17. The bolts and speed clips are still available from all good VW garages.
  18. I watched it and while not the greatest, on the whole, it was alright. Not a fan of how little screen time Sabine got, the fact harris and the other one weren't even in the opening episode is a bit worrying also. The ending of the section on the Aerial Nomad ruined the whole feature for me, and i'll admit for most of the reliant 'challenges' i was flicking through a beer recipe book rather than properly watching. HOWEVER! I have recently found James May: The reassembler on iplayer/youtube, which is brilliant, brilliant TV. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b076nwjz
  19. I got a quote earlier in the year (around end of March) as my renewal was due - sadly you weren't competitive. Am I still eligible for this?
