I'm guessing the top one under the starter motor is one of the M10s. I've ordered from VW this morning. It was about £4.20 but hopefully will be correct!

Oh brilliant, thanks for that Jim!! :thumbleft: It's odd how they list the bolts in different sections. It looks like no 13 is what I need. Will get on to my stealer this morning ;) Thanks again Jim - will update for info once I have the bolt ;)
-
Glad you enjoyed the drive back Toby :thumbleft: It looks so much fresher without the tints - I so should have ripped them off as first planned!! lol Looking forward to your updates ;)

That's a good point - he'll wait years to insure the G60!! lol Selling the G60 to fund the build does sound a good idea.

Thanks for the pic Jim. I have zoomed in but can't really make it out. If you have got anything kicking around you can measure that would be great! Assuming I've got the right hole then I should be able to get the bolt in ok, just need to fathom which bolt! lol Thanks again :thumbleft:

I think for £200 you can't really go wrong!! I'd buy it. Need to change the engine on the V5 though so you're fully legal/insured ;)

Ok I'm a bit baffled on this one. I noticed after getting the car that it appeared that one of the front engine mount bolts is missing, as below; I ordered a couple of new bolts from VW, this part; I went to fit it today after jacking the engine to line up the holes and the bolt just falls in, so the diameter seems wrong. They're number 13 on Partsbase diagram here - http://www.partsbase.org/vw/corrado-cor-eu-1993-51-securing-parts-for-engine/ If I should have got number 15, that's still M10 so that seems wrong too. Also on the diagram it shows both bolts being fitted with heads facing the passenger side of the car, but this missing one would be facing the driver's side. I have got two bolts in currently, one on the passenger side, adjacent to the starter motor - here; ..and on the opposite side of the mount there's a threaded end of a bolt poking out which I assume is a starter motor bolt. The missing one I'm guessing is to prevent and rotation of the engine in this mount (and why on gearchanges it seems as if there is movement.) My problem is I don't know what missing now as it's not listed. I hope the above makes sense and would appreciate some advice if anyone knows the answer. Many thanks Andy :thumbleft:

Ditto, let us know where it's from as need to do mine. Looks great ;)

Forgot to get a pic but Toby not long ago drove off in my valver, so that ends my story with this car. I will miss it but am looking forward to seeing it get fully sorted as he's planning to get some paint sorted over the next month or so.

Yeah John's knowledge is amazing!! If you do the lambda, double check how many pins the plug is. When I bought mine (returned it as found the broken wire) it was 2 wire and mine was three (or it could have been 3 and 4 lol) I'm guessing as with some other parts for the 9a, there's a cross-over point where certain parts are different so have your engine number to hand when you order.
-
Possibly lambda probe, mine wasn't connected properly - however symptoms weren't quite the same. If you've not seen this before it could help you cover some of the basics and anything you've potentially missed, as it's easy to overlook a few things - http://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=25972 I know he guide is for the KR but it's very similar to the 9a so should be useful

Not a fan of all the red either, but that's just a personal thing. A great build though and Cs really do look good in silver ;)

The Valver is sold! Tobz off here came to look and drive this morning and a deal has been struck which I think is very fair for both buyer and seller. He'll be collecting in the new few days - I have to say that despite having the VR there's something about the valver that I can't put my finger on, but will really miss!
-
From all the above it sounds like you'd be mad not to buy it! Good luck and keep us posted ;)

Looks tidy, what's left to sort on it?

Welcome! Nice looking VR - liking the alloys too. Look similar to the old AMG alloys

Anyone one on here from or know loads about Sheffield?

Lmao excellent - thought we were on ghost watch for a minute! Did he insult you for calling him 'Old timer?' :thumbleft: -
Hoping we can meet before then! lol

VW Corrado G60 - 1.9TDI Conversion 90BHP 1Z
Hairyarse replied to CorradoTDi's topic in Newbies Hangout
Cheers for the shout! :thumbleft: The Cabby is really a tidy one. The chap who came and saw it on Saturday was speechless at first as the photos don't do it enough justice. It's still available at the moment, I would be looking for a cash sale though not a swap. Cheers Andy -
Looks like we should postpone to another date then?
