It always amazes me why people feel the need to do this sort of crud, hopefully it won't look too bad after an attack with a bit of polish.

Registration Plates - Charles Wright Pre 2001 old style font??
Yandards replied to Dazza Storm's topic in General Car Chat
Burton & Deakin on the nugget which no longer exists but the 16vG60 was a Northfield VW and they are still alive and kicking. Gareth, nice touch on the rear screen sticker and the tax disc holder. -
Car now gone see link in 1st post for new thread
Yandards replied to P3rks's topic in Cars for Breaking
Without seeing the car it is difficult for anyone to comment on if it is too far gone, considering the starting point 6 years ago it is not a huge suprise that various parts of the car are starting to rot away as it didn't exactly have a blessed existance prior to Baz purchasing it. Much as I hate to see cars broken the reality is that some are too far gone to save and the way rust is cropping up makes it difficult to catch until its too late thanks to the thick underseal etc - what has kept the Corrado on the road and with little rust to speak of is now starting is kill a few chassis. Considering my 16v-G60 has had a very pampered existance there were spots of rust on the bulkhead from where Karmann welded the LHD/RHD blanks into place - I caught it early but as the worst one was sat behind the heat shield they are not easy to spot. -

Frankly the new BS AU requirement is a pain, I had a set made up as OE dealer style ones a couple of years ago complete with old style VW and Audi logo and the original issuing dealers details with the older prefix telephone number on it. No BS AU marking and I suspect they should just be used as 'show plates' but its bloody crazy when you consider my 16v-g60 is still on its original plates which meet the legal requirement until I have to replace them! -
Not that I know of but I would go down that route if I knew what I know now. Its so much easier to integrate better engine management using a 2l ABF lump which should make the package much more responsive and adaptive than Digipants management.

Blue pearl, it does say G60-16v in front of that though :)

Don't use the G60 block (VWM didn't for a reason) BBM kit is not very useful, only thing I ended up using from it was some of the nice ally spacer bushes that any machine shop could knock up and the ECU chip which is miles off. RPM tuning supply the better parts for the conversion IMHO but beware they can be terrible with delivery (5 months for my last set of parts..) My build thread is in my signature, some useful stuff in there and plenty of pictures.

Nicely done although another vote for the wheels being 'wrong' I think its the current flavour for powdercoaters etc and there is a premium for the much older style 'bright' silver finish. Despite being very dirty and having some heavy scratches it looked pretty sound and rust free underneath the dirt so it just goes to show how well the original paint comes up in the right hands.

Yandards' Nugget G60 - gone but not forgotten..

Its up on Pistonswede but still no bites, I do expect the current economic climate, time of year, location etc to be a factor but at the same time I would have also expected to at least have someone enquire for more details. It's also on ClubGti which sees a fair few folks visit although I am considering flea bay and maybe even the dreaded Auto Trader.. -

Complete lack of interest on the sale front, is it too expensive or is it just that I am a million miles from civilisation that is putting folks off? Honest comments below please.. -
Should be ok, just dig out the 3 foot breaker bar. That car did a lot of miles quickly, 90000 cleared by 1999! Not sure the dealer knows its a 2.9 VR6 and not a 2.8 either :)

Been struggling a little with the tunning options to get a decent package, they have definitely tweaked the system as what I was doing in FM3 is not working right in FM4, although I think I am getting there now. Anyone else struggling to get clean lap times thanks to the chasing pack? -
Don't cut up a parcel shelf to shove 6x9s in, VR6 is correct a setup of decent components upfront and replace the 15w rear standard items with something newer that is closer to 50w makes a difference. If you want more bass then go for a sub and not down the 6x9 route.

Looks good Fay, nothing quite as satisfying as a damn good clean up like that and seeing it all come together as you hoped.

I have the Fanatec GT2 wheel and clubsport pedals, very good wheel indeed and the pedals are superb - must admit that a proper rig instead the stand would make a massive difference - good use for the old mk 2 GTi passenger seat I have in the roof I guess! -

Yep it does seem to be harder than FM3, only running with ABS on at the moment but struggling to get past some stuff. Not sure the gearbox stuff is working correctly, reducing the final drive doesn't seem to be giving more acceleration just more revs - especially when up against some massive old american muscle cars on Road Atlanta, just can't get on terms with them despite reducing the final drive by a lot! -

It is indeedy and I nearly wet my pants when I saw the spoiler going up and down on the replay! Yay, silly aero stuff rules!! -
I have created a Forza Motorsport 4 Corrado Forum online club (community section) To request to join simply fire in the club code which is 'CFor' (case sensitive I think). Gives all us Corrado types an online club to drive each others cars and swap tunes etc. See you there!

Yeah its quite fun to drive and I am liking the seats very much for comfort and general quality. Would be nice to actually get a renewal quote through that was less than last year but in the current climate where we all seem to be paying over the odds for it I find that unlikely - its not like I could live anywhere cheaper for car insurance either!
-
Just trying to keep it cryptic! Collected this evening and enjoyed the 50 mile run back home. Its a 53 plate Audi A3 130 TDi sport, 3 door with half leather seats, feels quite corradoey thanks to the sport suspension etc and I am enjoying the big fat wedge of torque.

Checked out the insurance prices on the nugget replacement as part of the buying process and the quotes were coming back as similar to the nugget for the year although my current provider was around £80 more, so I figured that given I was 2 months into the policy it should cost no more than £100 including the admin fee. I called my current insurers up today to change the policy details for the new motor, only to discover they want an extra £340! Now given that an annual, that's 12 months not 10 which is what is remaining on my current policy, insurance bill is £300 for the new car and it cost me roughly the same on the nugget for a year I can't believe it! Especially when if I was a 'new' customer they would only charge me another £80! So I have taken out a new policy on the new car and I will cancel the insurance on the nugget instead as that works out cheaper, gives me two months more insurance on the new vehicle. Thanks to the way the robbing turds calculate refunds I am only going to see around £120 back for £300 spent out for 2 months insurance. Amazing they can still get away with this sort of crud really. Rant over.

Heh maybe, VR shed needs a bit more work to get rid and an MOT would be useful, quite like to try my hand at painting that and see how it comes out, its not like it will get any worse! You want another Corrado? -
