Pmsl.. :)

After seeing both your MK 1 and the G60 I can't wait to see this one.
-
Drewies G60 was on about 17k when he bought it.

I think it's just the switchover point in the H4s, so you get both filaments having power at the same time hence the massive amount of extra light. If I was designing a main beam toggle switch I would want to ensure that you didn't get less light during the change over from dipped to main.

Regarding 16v frount cross member and slam panel...
Yandards replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Engine Bay
You are refering to the radiator support panel, not the slam panel or cross member. The valvers dont have the extra cooling tube in the rad support panel for the PAS as they didn't need it, the PAS hoses are just routed closer to the block. -
Moved to correct area, in terms of loving your VW check out this thread linky

Yes. -
Brilliant but wierd.

If its gone yellow it does seem that ther head gasket is on the way out, best try a compression test to see if there are any obvious issues.
-
Yep its just the relay that does the intermitant wiper thing. Eugopnosaj, I would love to know what the part number of your central locking control module it, should be behind the drivers side rear passenger door card.

Looking good on track, always nice to see one being used hard.

Got to be worth sticking the front of the car on axle stands and running through the gears, should help to free the box up and move the oil around. Don't be tempted to overfill the box either, too much oil will create too much pressure - this often makes 2nd gear difficult to select with a cold box.

Thats the B3 Passat item if I am not mistaken.. If you have genuine fit electric windows, not all UK 'rados did, then the control module is the brain for both the central locking and the windows/sunroof. As I said originally, if your windows one touch down on both driver and passenger and one touch up on the driver then you will not have any form of closure on the sunroof. If your windows one touch down on both sides but not up then you will have sunroof closure. As for getting full closure inc sunroof on a car without that option I don't know - depends on the alarm fitted and you would need to get the alarm to understand where the sunroof was to send the correct close pulse - tilted or fully back.

Yeah they can get pretty grubby, seems to be a later switch issue more than early due to the way it works. I have some photos of one in component form that I stripped down, cleaned up and rebuilt when I had my VR, need to get around to doing a how to for it.
-
Just use it will probably help although if you need to go backwards thats no help!

Might just be that the syncro on the reverse is very tight so its not letting you engage it. Be worth pulling the tower for a look at it, its not too much work to do that.

IIRC its the push down on the stick which selects reverse. Right just checked both my car and the ASD (mk 3 diesel box) I have in the roof. The reverse selection is made at the bottom end of the cable travel, if you push down on the shift weight and then push the weight in the direction of the rear of the car this should select reverse. This should at least confirm that the box is working ok. I suspect its just a case of getting the cable to box alignment correct, it's not the easiest thing in the World and if your CTN shifter is a little sticky it wont help with getting the height cable set-up correctly.

Breaking 1995 Corrado VR6 - 117k, Full Black Leather
Yandards replied to Purple Tom's topic in Cars for Breaking
Any chance of the left and right 'flat' panels that sit behind the front bumper to the wheel arch liner? -
With the passenger or drivers seat all the way back you can wedge a 5l oil can in there quite nicely without it sliding around. Top tip that a lot of folks dont know about although it is in the handbook, holding the key in the locking position will close the windows on all models and the sunroof on models with the later control modules. If you have a one touch up drivers window then you wont have the sunroof feature and vice versa.

Hallo.
I have been a Corrado owner since I bought a 68k G plate 16v in early 2005, I still have that car and it now has a (mostly) running 16V G60 conversion.
My daily is a Nugget G60 and I have also owned a VR6 for a year and I just bought another VR6....
So that's 3 Corrados in total, plus a Triumph GT6 and a Passat estate - humn too many cars!
-
Anyone seen this on Pistonheads, VR6 feature!

Pea roast. There is a thread already open on this so I am going to lock this one up.
