Cheers mrB,fluid level is fine...so ill stick a spare cap/switch on and see if that cures it :D Did it a while after i washed under the bonnet so maybe the little pin has water around it or sommet  Neil.
-
When i put the ignition on in the G60...the handbrake light comes on albeit dimly. When im running the car its still lit up also. And the handbrake still makes the light come on fully as it should so the switch is working obviously, weird? :? Any idea's? Neil.

Cheers m8 :D It just scrapes along the kurb nicely, not too badly like 8) Have been a few times when ive nearly gone for the hammer...or trolley jack to attack it  Starting to actually enjoy driving it now :D !

Looks like a gear lever from an old cf butch bedford van  vwdeviant ,aye ! Felt strange at first hearing the stereo but not seeing it! Not just finished it yet...may even relocate it somewhere else when i get around to it! Ps:Excuse the worn looking drivers mat

I do know what you mean leon! Adjusting the seat a few times got it feeling right...i do prefer the shorter length :?

Is there a propper gauge panel that will fit in the corrado's radio slot? It seems that the sides of where the radio goes may cause problems.(Ive tried one from audi and it dosn't fit properly) Is there one out there that has the gauges closer together AND sits the gauges flush, not stuck out!? Neil.

Update!!! Im keeping the piece of shit! New wheels are here...but lets just say ive made a slight feck up :( Something new coming under the bonnet soon. Things ive managed...lately: Brand new vdo vac/boost gauge :D wanted one for aaaaaages! So i fitted it where the stereo was along with oil pressure and voltage Just need to find a better panel, this ones just temp...and match the lighting. Also moved the stereo, and its controlled by the joystick on the steering column...also not just finished yet! Neil.

Im gonna stop lubing my charger up... Removed it not long ago to re-seal the rsr outlet...the amount of built up grease was horrible! It made the polish/porting of the charger and outlet seem pointless! :? Plus, surely vw didn't intent for the engine to breathe heavy and then to lube the charger? Can't have had much effect on a new engine? Plus i thought the apex strips were self lubing anyway? and any grease will just get pushed aside? Dunno...i just wonder if the lube will sort of glaze the apex strips and lose compression? Neil.

Aye...co pot, bloody heads not with it  Another quickie  If the set up used activation on wot...and you were running without the boost return piping...would it be safe? Think im right in saying all the boost/nitrous/fuel would get used rather than a little spat out the bottom of the throttle body? ! Cheers,Neil.
-
 I think it was just in a good mood that day!
-
Just out of interest... Where would you inject nitrous/fuel from a fogger jet on a g60? Before or after the map sensor? Im guessing after,as id imagine the mix wouldn't be good for the map sensor and it would struggle to read it? Neil.

"Oh b#llox, now that's broken as well" experiences
Riley replied to drunkenmunkey's topic in General Car Chat
My last experience of this... Solid front engine mount snapped the crappy engine mount bracket... Upon moving the car into my unit to replace it, the engine fell out  and snapped the pipe off the heater matrix!!!!!!! Knightmare :( -

Ignition coil with the main ht lead m8... I found some rev counter wiring the other day,may be of interest to you...although it may be diffarent on a valver. Top of the fuse box (g60) there are a few connectors all plugged in from the back, theres a couple of single black wired ones.Unplug either one of these and it stops the rev counter working. I think its just where the loom from clocks meets loom from engine bay. Neil.

Does this help? On the left it mentions printing, but i don't know what the crack is with it... Neil.

Thread ressurection :!: Does everyone else have an unconnected plug in their drivers door? Anything to do with the door pin activating the central locking? :? And on the vac operated pump, there is a leccy connection for a plug! Wonder what happens if you plug it in :?: Edit:Just to add,i did have a poke about with a 12v tester a while ago...and the plugs wiring is something to do with the central locking for definate...Im guessing that the connection on the actuator...will just complete a circuit (one live into the connection, then coming out) when the pin is pushed down. It be a mechanical switch rather than electrical... Anyone want to go try it? :!:

Maybe try the bulb on the battery trick Rob? Disconnect earth from battery... Run a wire from the earth lead to one side of the bulb. Run another wire from battery terminal to the other side of the bulb. Any 21w indicater bulb etc will do. Im just not sure about any immobiliser/resetting other stuff with newer cars so maybe be careful as far as that goes. Corrado had a similar issue and it was the cd changer lead! Neil.

very red vr6 back from the body shop again

That looks superb to me :D 8) Love the red design 90's! Neil. -
Rob, Most important thing with that mk1 is the rear beam mounting points. What i mean is,if those rear arches are original having not been repaired then it normally means that the rear beam mounting points are pretty solid. Its the worst place to repair on a mk1 and can be expensive if rotten. Still give the underneath a good checking out though, its just a genaral rule of thumb that the arches tend to give an idea of beam mounting area condition. Neil.
