Mr memory here can't remember what was mentioned, but if it was the nitrous then no not yet. Although I am having a uprated fuel delivery system fitted to cover future mods. Also weight saving, with a carbon roof, and some retrimming. She needs some love and attention after not having much done for a while.

Oh my lord, I can't believe it was over 3 years ago when I last updated this - that's what buying a house does for you (no money for ages). Anyway the car is currently with JMR, so should hopefully be able to put some new pics up in a couple of weeks, after he has done his magic.

When I did mine I ran the power cable under the passenger seat, and made sure the signal cables where no where near it. Easier to do with the seat out and the carpet either removed or loosened. Bank on a day to do it with getting seats and trim out and back. Been a while since I've had to buy any audio kit so I'm not up to date with the current kit, but I use a genesis profile 4, with 2 channels running the front, and 2 bridged to run the sub. A decent 4 channel amp would see you for now and if you decide to change the setup later.
-
Got to agree with Leon here. Power cable for an amp should be a dedicated feed from the battery. It has to be thicker gauge than any of the standard cables. Using too thin a gauge can lead to the cable getting too hot and catching fire. Corrado is a simple car to do this on as everything is nicely accessible. Keep in mind though, if you put too much power to these it'll drag the sound stage to the back of the car and not sound good. Better to get some decent speakers up front, and then put a small sub in the boot.

I bought a spare fascia a few years back with the intention of doing this, but unfortunately laziness got the better of me. Good luck and put up pics when you're done, just to get me envious, lol.

Gwerks doesn't exist anymore which does have an impact on the possible people to go for. I run a modified G60 (1.9l, 65mm pulley, and a host of other things), and currently have about 250bhp and 225lbft of torque. It's a daily runner, and bar a few flat battery issue is completely reliable. But you have to do other things along with that. I have an ATB diff, and traction control, which makes life easier. I've uprated the brakes, and anti roll bars, and suspension. The exhaust is bigger and i have a 4 branch manifold etc etc. All of which gets expensive. If you want easy power and the potential for lots of it, go 1.8T. if you want something different and can take time to do it stay G60. Chargers are fine if serviced well and regularly.

Matt, I did some comparisons on Surrey Rolling Road a few years ago, and showed that the paper filter was actually working better than a K&N panel filter at the top end; http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=36539&page=5 I also did a run with and without the snorkel, and as expected when it was in it robbed airflow at the top end. Once final experiment was a run without an air filter at all (that was a scary run), and as I recall it was similar to the paper filter (can try and dig out the original graphs if you're interested). My experience, paper filter for a G60 even a modified one - mines just over 250bhp now and still on a standard paper filter. Jezzag60 with his monster 16V G60 did some comparisons as well and showed increases for the SWG twin intake system, and twin cone system but obviously a very different beast to standard G60 there.

I had 2 front seats done about 10 years ago - completely retrimmed in leather and alcantara. Cost about £500 then.

If you pop open the airbox you'll see a black plastic pipe which can just be taken out - thats the snorkel. As for drilling, it is simply drilling a number of holes (about 1 inch diameter) in the bottom half of the box on the side away from the engine. You can also take a cold air feed from low down behind the bumper and lead it up through the hole just to the front the airbox. I've done this in mine (as in my build thread on page 8); http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=20906&page=8&highlight=nitrous

The K&N kits aren't necessarily bad, unless they aren't oiled properly. Foam induction kits should not be used under any circumstance (the foam can break away and send small piece through the charger). Also with a K&N cone filter there is the issue of warm air being drawn in from the engine bay if the shield is not in place properly. To be honest the best air filter for a g60 (even a tuned one) is the standard paper one, in conjunction with an airbox where the lower half has been drilled and the snorkel removed. Mines pushing just over 250bhp on a standard air filter and drilled and desnorkeled box. The main reason people use the K&Ns if for the noise they make.

Anybody any experience with the new Land Rover Defenders
JMC replied to JMC's topic in General Car Chat
Well, I went a test drove one today, and it was a million miles away from the Corrado (as expected), but I loved it and put down a deposit to buy one. Only issue is it'll probably be April 2014 before I get it, given the lead time at the moment. Looks like it'll be the Corrado over another winter then, when it finally turns into winter... -
This is a blast from the past. Will check through my parts box and let you know, Grum21.

Ah, so you're at Nene are you? If I get chance I'll come over, before I do the test drive, however I'm travelling a lot between now and Christmas, so will have to see when I can fit it in. -
Anybody any experience with the new Land Rover Defenders

If I do go for one it'll be the 90 hard top. 110 is out of the question because of the lack of space to park it, and as I'll be using it for business I need one with seats in the front only (commercial company vehicle), so that leaves the 90 hard top (also it need to have panels in the rear side not windows to be classed as a van). Thanks for the info on the leg room. It looks as though there is plenty available to modify these with which is good. I'm based near J13 of the M25, but must admit my hearts set on the 90 so if I enjoy it I think I'm going to go for it with the knowledge that I'll have to mod it a bit. -

Hmmm, I'm not a small guy, so that may be an issue then. -

Yeah, I'd be interested to hear that thanks mate. -
I'm looking to get a new vehicle mainly for winter use, but for work use as well, and am looking for some advice. I like the idea of 4x4s but only proper ones. I like and am edging towards the new Defenders, specifically a 90 as I need something relatively compact, and was wondering whether anyone on here has one, or has experience of one and can comment on what they're like to live with on a day to day basis for use on road and off. I'm booked in for a test drive early December, but any advice up front would be good.

John Mitchell Racing is the guy to go to for charger rebuilds. Based in littlehampton near Brighton. Worth the extra drive.
-
No worries mate. John Mitchell is the man to talk to regarding G60 work these days.
-
Ben, also try calling John Mitchell Racing and see whether he has any tucked away anywhere that he's willing to sell.
-
Hi Ben, I'm sure Owen G60 mentioned a supplier for these when we were at Stealth. Might be worth PMing him.

I've got mk4 heated jets on mine. Bit surprised to hear you say they look like a bodge David - never thought of it as a bodge, as I thought it looked quite neat. The spray pattern is much better than the original ones. However it does require the underside of the bonnet structure to be cut slightly (I think there are some pics of this in my build thread, basiclly need to cut a couple of small squares out of the structure on each side).

Love the one of mine spitting flame, lol. -
On my car atleast every ABS issue I have had has been sensor related. If you have a multimeter, the first thing to do is check the resistance of each sensory. For the front ones there are connectors either side of the front towers in the engine bay, for the rear ones there should be connectors under your rear seat. The resistance should be around 1-1.5k ohms from memory. If they are all approx that and all about the same then it's not the sensors, but it will most likely be one (or more) of the 4 that are kaput, and will have a different resistance. I got my front ones off ebay, but search on here for the right make to go for (there are 2 I think, one of which is the same as VW supply, the other isnt). Try and stick with the correct make if possible. Rear ones are more expensive and again check for makes.

Owen G60 is looking for a big valve head for a G60.
