Thanks for the pic Tonedef, seems quite straight forward. I'm still trying to decide on what is best to cut it with too. Hopefully I will get a proper look at the bonnet Shaun has taken off his money pit which also has the cut in. Lockdown seems less restrictive, so we need a car chat and coffee. Well when mine is back roadworthy and my leg is better

Finished the main install. Cut the radiator trim, fitted the dipstick to stand further off the block and connected in the hoses which I had previously done. Just need to tighten one bolt when I do the front engine mount. Fla, hopefully thanks to a tyrap the acc accelerator cable looks slightly better now. Started fine but I could hear a faint hissing and thought it was the reservoir. Eventually found it was just the main vac line connection that I had not put on!!! Pillock. Better pic of the RH bracket that I fitted to an elbow bracket to keep it all together And it works, well moves the flap, but maybe at 4100 revs, not the 4k. So perhaps need to adjust that bit. Next up one day..... swap over the front engine mount to the Vibra- technica fast road one, Then Bonnet cut ð Watch this space...

If VW went to all the trouble making the VSR, I am pretty sure they would have a bracket on that right hand side. Be worth getting hold of one to see

This bracket. Part number on it for you ð

So I had a go at fitting the Schrick manifold that I have had for 2 years.... Maybe I should have done it when the front of the car was off as it would have been sooooo much easier. But not impossible with the slam panel in the way !! I had read that the RH rear bracket has to be removed and this has 3 wires grounded on it. I decided to add a bracket to enable this to be kept around that area, but it does leave the RH rear without a bracket. Maybe I will fabricate something up for that later The dipstick really needs standing 10mm off of the block to clear the manifold. Yet to do... It also just touches the top radiator plastic trim panel, so I will cut a clearance around this I did fit the recommended rubber air hose from the MAF sensor and that sits nicely. I also have the small vacuum elbow for the top of the manifold. Just waiting for the RH plastic lead trim cover to dry as I gave it a coat of paint earlier. A couple of things that bother me are that the accelerator cable wants to naturally run over the oil cap, so looks daft. And... the actual manifold really does sit HIGH in the front LH corner. I know this bonnet area needs cutting, but crikey it looks like I need a hole in the bonnet. It had better be worth all of this effort, as I actually prefer how the original manifold looks. Mind you, keyo,'s VSR really is how they all should have been

You need to bring it up North. Mine was 3.5k. Admittedly I had stripped it, but they still took all the doors off to paint. Bumpers, sunroof panel, wing mirrors, number plate light surround.. were painted off the car. No welding but some rust to sort out If a company is stripping it for you, then that is big bucks ÂĢÂĢÂĢ in labour time As Shaun says, get the glass out. You are spending good money and this is the only way to get a great finish

So I fitted a little sticker on the slam panel where the bonnet support hits and was marking my paintwork... no end to my skills today ðð

Ha, scrap that.. . Turned up and said I have an alarm fitted..... Yes, but as said is temperamantal, hence needing replacing.... oh!!! Needs removing before I can fit this ðĄðĄ FFS

I have just looked at my Diavia book that is with the service pack. This had the Aircon fitted before being supplied New. All fitted in the UK. Deltech, gilders rd. Chessington being this official Diavia installer. Can't say that I had ever heard of VW supplying a car with the parts partially fitted, sounds nice. Although all the Diavia parts and brackets fit well and are universal. I would have liked a genuine condensor, but was under the understanding that they wouldn't necessarily fit on a RHD, but be nice to see. I'm sure Diavia could have made the hoses up to fit to these items very easily at the time Worth a try.. . I spent a year replacing all my parts and dealing with a replacement Evaporator which really is impossible for the RHD diavia. Whilst it is working I dont intend on upsetting it. A year on and it still works fine. I think fla on here sent me a wiring diagram of the system and there is a thread 'davina' aircon with more info

Cheers Dox, I thought you had done some. Going to try with a rusty old brake disc first. Full marks for use of your wheelie bin though ðĪĢðĪĢ great idea Have you done any of the oxide coating of parts also?

I've been watching tooo much you tube and decided I want a play at using electrolysis to do some rust removal. Has anyone done this? And had better success using a certain product. . .salt, baking powder, soda Crystal's. Just seen a good Anode of an opened up tin can around the object so may try that. Or i am talkimg total rubbish and ignore this thread ðĪĢðĪĢðĪŠ

Ooo now that I would like to see. I work in Nottimgham and went to school in Hucknall. National school ð, but live that bit further up North now. Good to see you post up a pic of your car

Are you from that part of Nottinghamshire? Not often you get to see a Corrado, especially at that time of day ðī

This. Could be...

Oil cooler above it. Has an inner and outer seal

Sounds like a sensible diagnosis. Especially with it making no difference when unplugged.. Get it plugged in if you can. Do you know anyone with a good working MAF that you could swop with to be 100% sure

Looks better with the carpet going all the way under the seats IMO. Car is looking great ð

VW Heritage covers. I am very happy with them. Annavr6 sorted getting them made. Quality

Hi Chris, the work you are doing with al the parts is great. Unfortunately for the UK, VW did not give us Aircon on our Right hand drive cars.

That is an amazing miracle. Well done in putting the time and effort into doing this. I hope it is a busy time for you now. Shane the forum isn't as busy. If anyone has a dodgy sunroof, we know where to send them ð They look excellent
