Brakes will be an easy fix for you. The ABS definitely needs bleeding, as does the slave cylinder. You have a lot on but will have this sorted. Well done in creating a beautiful motor
-
Good luck with the MOT Monroe shocks are actually a decent make for the replacement genuine items
-
Are these any good when driven at speed? Mine are still standard and I am fighting to keep it that way
-
Ooo I will check mine tomorrow to see if it has that fitted and let you know π§

Nice work. When i removed my doors I undid all of the fiddly wiring in the door and removed them that way !!! What a pain π. I only considered being able to do it your way when putting them back on. Good luck with it -
Welcome back and we look forward to seeing your ads. I just click on the + symbol above and find the parts for sale thread, then add to that. Not sure if you need to subscribe like the rest of us though. . It isnt much but it keeps the forum alive

I'm Late to the party.... it looks great and how they all should have been, making them super special. I'm just going to take my jealous sulking self off now, as I can never even get the gauges.. Does look ace π

10 clips and grommets needed into the scuttle area for the lower 3 trim pieces. Not available at classics either, but other people have remade these, including Sprinter on here. Get some matt black paint and treat those 3 trin pieces to a freshen up, I did and happy with the result. As previously mentioned in this thread, sekurit is the saint gobain glass and a perfect fit. DO get the rubber wedges and make sure they use them. It sets the perfect height of the glass at the bottom and prevents it from dropping whilst setting. One of the seals is not available at VW so I had to buy a complete aftermarket fitting kit just for that. I will check which one. The kit was Β£60 off the fitter for all the bits and a perfect fit so cheap enough. I have a genuine vw and an aftermarket kit spare, but both needing this one seal!! All previous advice to me on here was 100% and I would recommend the above. Good luck in finding a decent fitter though. As Keyo has mentioned, sort the dreaded damage first and let it dry b4 fitting π

If wiggling it causes a problem, I would invest in a complete set of junior terminals and re-do all of the connections

Sounds a lovely motor, stick some pics up

Ouch at 180. You could definitely change to the mk4 reliability for less. Unless you want it 100% original. New = fit and forget Caliper repair ,= quick fix if you can find someone this BH weekend. Good luck with it though.

I 2nd the Sebrings look. OE quality, looks great π -
The VSR fitting with the covers are the perfect look, far better than the Schrick. I am interested in your bracket, as that looks a great idea π§

I changed my bonnet soundproofing for the looks. Was lousy and tattered. Replacement waffle stuff looks amazing when done. You clearly want a great car, so I would recommend it

Pictures please. Tell us more π
