Mine doesn't need to handle the power that yours has 🙈

Finally getting round to sorting this. I have removed the gearbox mount and ordered a Meyle standard one. So, that is the rear left sorted hopefully. Front I am either VT fast road or the JMR version, the latter hopefully. Rear right I am struggling with. I can not find a Meyle version of this for a VR6. I found a HD version but with a different ending letter in the part number but says wont fit 🤬 I don't want a Topran one, so what else is there Wasting my life away. I think the part no. Is 1H0199262 K or D This is a pain as i am sure I changed them all when doing the subframe, but the front definitely needs to be stronger

Just had a good read of this, thanks Dox. Quality car.How the hell do you remember this from way back !! 🤯😇

So is your name Leonard or matt? What is that story.. I went through the powder coating stage of my parts five years ago. I wont do that again to parts that see the road again. Disappointing that they are starting to rust now!! So I had my front lower valance redone in a different coating that is supposed to be better. Certainly looks good and has been on a year with nothing coming through. When I remember what the coating is I shall post up 🤬🙈

Quality return then Matt, with great info on your car. Any pictures as we all love a good picture to look at? Sounds like it needs a good re-commissioning. But worth it. Suspension wise a lot of people seem to put the Bilstein b12 suspension on with rave reviews. I couldn't afford that at the time I did mine, so I went for standard shocks with slightly lower eibach springs and love it . OE plus .. Wheels...OMG I like a BBS and the 16" speedlines someone recently got. Also Keyo put some rare VW motorsport alloys on his. What ever you decide has to fit over the monster brakes you have. I fitted standard golf 288mm brakes at Xmas and am happy with those Engine wise yours sounds a good set up, but what mileage are you on, have you had the chains done previously? Look at 'my money pit' as Shaun has a supercharged vr that scares the sh## out of me It will need some love turning over to get it started with a dose of fresh oil and filters etc.. Why do you suspect a head gasket? Exhaust wise, christ the world is your oyster. I cant comment as mine is still original, but when it goes I shall have a custom one made up to exactly the same. Paint wise I know of a highly recommended guy in Nottingham that you could get in touch with. He was supposed to do mine but lockdown happened so I took it to a guy near me and they did a great job too. I get over to the Peak district once a month and do love those roads. There is a guy on the main road leaving bakewell to Haddon that has a silver valver on his drive. Get it sorted, plenty of enthusiasm on here that would love to follow the restoration

Good luck with finding a decent one. I think that is rarer then getting VSR motorsport manifold. Try messaging lilfuzzer as he is always getting rid of Corrado parts Good luck, I'm sure something will come up

Glad you sold it. Someone got a bargain unfortunately. Treat yourself to a 2.0 G60 or 2.9

Has anyone else ever had a grating sound coming from the steering wheel when turning? At first I thought it would be an immobiliser ring rubbing on the actual shaft I have narrowed it down to the copper electrical tab that makes contact with the steering wheel. No matter how I bend twist or alter this, the noise wont totally go away. It is driving me mad. I probably have the original hazard switch as the contact seems very flat, so maybe I should just change that... but then where is a good place to get one/brand All replies gratefully received 👍

🤞🤞I'm sure it will be great

Kamei and zender, perfect bit of kit and look great on a red motor. A quality addition to your car too 👍👍

And they look great on a mk1 GTi, but a nightmare to keep clean 😆 -
I have that one too. Quality unit and certainly helps it start. If you need a fabric battery cover for that size, they are still available as I got that to help keep it looking original. Great choice 👍

This spray is far superior to wd40. Bought from Eurocarparts . I managed to remove my passat turbo manifold without breaking any studs. Miracle for me
-
Well done in getting it sorted. Make sure you clean all the rails out and lube with the correct grease, otherwise the same may happen again....

100% I'm with Dox. Happened to me last year and I was given the same advice. Easy fix too for a Corrado

2nd time this week that I have managed to get Karmann out the garage for a good drive. Only today I managed to pick up a rear puncture and a knocking from the front end !!! Still enjoyed taking her out though. The biggest shocker was no Super Unleaded at my usual garage.... next 3 garages didnt even do it.. Ended up on deepest Derbyshire paying £1.44 a litre, 😱 I didnt realise daylight robbery still existed..
