From what I hear it is somewhat easy. Cheesey wasn’t too much help since he actually didn’t do the swap himself. He had a shop do it for him. Anyways, here is a link that I have been looking at to give me a better idea on how it is going to work. Wiring is also going to be a little time consuming to figure out too, especially if you are going to be running angel eyes and want all 4 lights to be on when the brights are on. New DVD with a Corrado in it! - Now with a proper trailer
Red=Fast replied to dinkus's topic in General Car Chat
wow, maybe i will buy that -
to do: -stop all rattles inside car -get new leather front door cards (the preious owner cut holes in them for speakers that dont fit - muppets) -fix my guage cluster lights (i cannot figure out why they are not working - worked fine in my other car.) -replace side marker bulb -install my solid front motor mount -upgrade headlights either to european spec, golf rallye, or bmw e36's -find a red vr6 hood or a nice carbon fiber one (to possibly do a light red coat over to give it a red transparent color) -a full car respray -get a hold of a golf rallye or huge FMIC (i decided against the BBM liquid to air kit because on hot days the air would be hot as hell) -install all of my stereo equipment (kenwood mp3/cd player, boston speakers, 2 12 inch subs in the rear, 600w amp) -possibly look into a 1.9 or 2.0 bottom end to swap in thats really all i can think of as of right now. this is going to cost my right hand to pay for everything i need. =\

I just ran a hose down under the car. The constant hiss is something new, but it makes the car sound really sweet when you are changing through the gars under full boost. I am really happy with how much room it cleared up in the front of the engine bay. The greatest thing about it is that I spent under $10 USD for the whole kit I made myself.$10 for better throttle response, less wear on the charger, colder boost, better MPG(? I have only had it on my car for 1 day now so I really haven’t noticed a difference in MPG yet), the hiss sounds pretty cool when getting on the throttle and changing gears, more room in the engine bay, and more...for $10, this is the best mod I have done yet.
-
i did the mod, i am pretty happy with it so far. i will have some pictures and video soon. only thing i dont like so far is the mess of oil that comes out the bottom of the throttle body where the line used to be. i was thinking about getting another tube to re route it away from falling onto the downpipe and whatnot.
-
yeah i ended up changing my mind about the return removal. i wasnt finding any real perks about it. i talked to a few people and found out that the sensor is basically useless and would do nothing if i were to unplug it. it is just there for california emmisions. maybe you guys can talk me back into doing the removal of the return. please tell me all perks about it and any cons about it as well. a friend of mine was under the impression that it doesnt matter if it is circulating the unused boost because as soon as you actually get on it that air will be gone because it will have sucked in new air by the time you actually were getting on the pedal. also he suggested to put a filter on the bottom of the throttle body just so you dont have an open hole where things could possibly get in. how does the car sound at idle with the return gone too? does it have a constant hiss from their being dumped out? does it throw off the vacuume system?
-
i found out that it is an oil breather sensor. now i just need to figure out if it is completly nessesary for the system. i know for my 16v swap, i just unplugged it and everything seemed to work out fine. if any of you guys could let me know, please do. =]

post hijack not helping. someone let me know thanks!

Ok I am not crazy; here is the best picture I could get of the line off hand: What am I supposed to do with that sensor? What size is this tube that I need to get to control the oil? Also, since I have an ISV reroute will this effect the removal of the return line? I only ask this because you guys mention needing to get a filter for the ISV, and the hose that comes off of the ISV now goes directly into the boost line. So is the filter going to be necessary anymore? I need to find out what to do with that sensor, get a tube to reroute the oil, and get a block off plate. I believe since I have the ISV reroute I don’t need the filter for the ISV. Please let me know if I am wrong. I have also seen insted of a block off plate, I have seen someone have another filter on there. Is there any perks to going like that? More cool air for the charger? Let me know guys. any cons to having another filter where the block off plate would be?
-
hm... maybe i will see if i can find a machine shop to make me a plate insted...it will probably be so much cheaper. but besides the block off plate i have to get a filter for the ISV line and a pipe for the oild vapors? is the pipe for the oil vapors totally needed? if i dont have it what will happen?
-
keep in mind i am from the US...how much do they sell the kits for? i am going to be reemed from the currency exchange and the shipping if i get anything from you guys unless you can hook up a great deal. anyways, what parts are needed for the mod? what about the sensor that mounts on the boost return line? what happens to that?
-
I did a search on here and the vortex to try and find out what is involved with doing the boost return line removal. I also read the post on the 'downsides' of removing it. I am seriously considering doing this, but I have no idea on what is involved with it. Could someone please tell me how to do it and what is involved or at least point me in the right direction on where i could get the information. Thanks a bunch guys!

that CNUT thing is great. i probably could not get away with it since that guy already has been using it. maybe it should be: what kind of CNUT are you? or i am a CNUT or something...thats if i could even use that... -
Corrado T-Shirts ideas/Pre-Production NEW DESIGNS IN! 10/11
Red=Fast replied to Red=Fast's topic in General Car Chat
I know guys...changes are being made on the designs. I am going to be selling these designs world wide so i have to show options for every region. I plan on having shirts for VR6's, G60's, and 16v's so no need to fret, just sit back and give it a little time because the designer is doing this on the side of his real design job. So give me like another week and i should have some more designs for you guys. Hopefully some ones for you VR and 16v guys. I totally agree that the picture thing looks cheesy. I don’t want that design. The outline of the Corrado or just the Corrado filled in 1 color is looking to be one of the actual keepers. I know that the outline of the Corrado is similar to the CCGB but, it is an original design and it is not the same as the CCGB. Anyways, more updates later. :D -
i was curious, who makes the dual exhaust set up for the corrado? i have seen it on a few cars...any actual gains from it or is it just for show? what modifications do you need to do under the car for that setup to work?

Corrado T-Shirts ideas/Pre-Production NEW DESIGNS IN! 10/11
Red=Fast replied to Red=Fast's topic in General Car Chat
Understandable. I will let the designer know your view on this. We plan on having a generic version for them all, but the designer only was playing with the G60 this last week. Some of the designs are easily made into generic designs that are not model specific. Like the outline of the Corrado one for example. Also keep in mind I said this was the first wave of designs. This was only him working in his spare time during the week. I will tell the guy to keep things more general, but also, my original design was JUST for G60s, all of you VR guys are going to have to be patient. The designs will come. For now, just give your opinions on what I have. -

Alright you guys, here is the first wave of new designs. Unfortunately, none of the VR6 designs were made due to a lack of time this past week. Keep in mind that the VR6 ones will be easy to made out of the current designs by just changing some of the wording. So stay tuned for the VR6 designs and 16v designs. I am really excited to be able to show you guys these new ones. There are a few that are so perfect! Let me know what you guys think or any changes that should be made. The graphic designer and I are open to all new ideas or designs. We want to make the best looking shirts we can. As for the new designs, I don’t have a time on when they will be done exactly, but I am thinking within the next week or so. Again, feel free to give me any suggestions you guys might have. Here they are: (sorry I only have it in PDF format right now. if someone could get these into .jpg format and put the files up on here for me that would be awesome) it is a 5.75mb download for the 11 new designs. So be patient. =] click on this link Keep in mind the shirts are going to be black, grey, white, and maybe dark blue. -
