anyway - enough from you colour whores - i would have the 73k car as its worth a lot more than the 133k car regardless of the head build and the mileage has a bearing on the whole car and a head rebuild doesn't have much value in my eyes. 73k all the way for me.

...also, any common faults for central locking and interior light? Central locking not working and interior light on door opening. Anyone with decent audi forum links etc??????

when i first saw the lights, i assumed low water in the expansion tank or fan/alternator belt. haven't got used to the novelty of a voltmeter so didn't check but its the only logical option - i'll charge it today and see how it goes - probably need to get the alternator sorted.

2.0 16v cheapie - very tidy and nice tho. new runabout so golf tdi up for sale. I still had PAS - there's no belt damage or slackness. so i think you're saying low battery voltage gives brake and cooling light flashes? Cooling light doesn't make sense mind, unless as I stated previously, the assumption is the fan belt has gone if the battery is flat and therefore the water pump isn't being driven.

you can adjust the damping with an adjustable - which works better than the plastic wheel anyway. as the poto shows, anticlockwise for firmer damping. as kev says, you really don't want firm rear and less firm front - ask chilly - i had him in the passenger seat when i hoofed round a corner with stiff rear, soft front settings with koni coilovers and got wildy out of shape - severe, very rapid oversteer...... be warned.

Audi - This one?

Audi coupe :roll: - drove around in the dark for a while and noticed leccy windows where a bit slow but had no indication that the battery was not charging. Upon stopping for a few minutes, returned to the car and the warning light and temperature light flashed at me constanlty. checked the water level but thats okay - checked the alternator belt - thats okay. the battery has lost its charge totally and barely got me home - coughing and spluttering with insufficient charge to run the car, so theres certainly a charging issue but why the dash warning light AND temperature light? Is this an audi thing? if theres no charge going to the battery, is the presumption that the alternator/water pump belt has gone and therefore it lights both lights??? Sorry for poor pics - camera phone in the dark :roll:

the wife painted the house with masonary paint and icoverd the whole car a couple of years ago. tried all sorts -tar remover, paraffin, scraping with a plastic scraper etc.....- as drastic as it sounds, I ended up having to go over the WHOLE CAR, spot by spot with thinners. I quickly rubbed each spot and then immediately rinsed excessively with a sponge soaked with water to prevent the thinners doing any damaged. It actually looked unbelievably glossy when I finished but it took weeks and weeks doing it bit by bit.

To answer your other car request (as everyone else will probably say keep the corrado).... i quite like the 200sx - shorter and prettier than a skyline and still reasonably pokey with plently of potential and RWD. Thats the one thing i would love to cx about the corrado - really miss RWD fun :(

i really admire the effort thats gone into that. i wish i had the time to go the full hog with a project like that. its always seems that only the necesary gets done. Respect the dedication, time and effort you've put in and i vote for the black carpet :)
