i havent bought one as i don't want one either! my point was that its all too easy to join in shooting something down, ignoring the good points just because its not to our tastes. i applauded the chap who balanced the comments out a bit - go the underdog!! p.s. Curry vs Thai

at the wheels - VF9 stage2 The CTN would probably be a good choice for you - as you probably wont be in 5th much unless on the motorway or cruising. get a peloquin fitted too if funds allow

nice to see the rear badges colour coded - getting that done on mine too -
I would have to say that is indeed a hate thread!!! I think the points about the low torque figures are fair enough and I will definately admit that they are reletively common when compared to Rados... However, after owning a Rado G60 until early this year and now owning a CTR I would have to say I know which one I would choose! The Civic is an awesome car, yeah whilst the torque is low when you're at low levs this doesn't really make any odds at all as all you do is drop it down a couple of gears get it into the vtec and your pulling away as if you had a turbo strapped to the B*stard. Secondly quite why some of your feel that the interior is horrible I really just don't understand, it's generally minimal (By the way I am talking about the EP3 CTR which is the 01 - 06 model, and not the new one cos I hate that  ) comfortable and the nice bits of red give it something to drag it away from the normal grey and black. AFAIC if had to choose between the two interors I would rather have it look like as someone so nicely put it "the hi-fi section in the argos catalogue" than (as I shall so nicely put it!) the inside of someones briefcase!! Now please do not get me wrong I did really like my Corrado and it did always put a smile on my face (not including when I drove it in the wet as quite frankly it was terrible, and when I had a few problems but due to the fact that it was 15 years old I forgave it) but driving the civic in all weathers at any time makes me smile. i just thought I would add this as quite honestly topics like this on single make/model forums seem to be pointless as I would quite happilly say on the Civic forum, the Corrado is so different from the Civic Type that I wouldn't expect many people to like them as the many things that I liked in the Corrado the Civic either doesn't have or has a completely differenty way of achieving the same thing. I think all I'm asking from people is that they don't call them a souless car and all that and just respect them for what they are, an awesome piece of engineering and a damn fine car as well, all of which are built and hand finished in our very own country. Thanks for listening Tom. Oh P.S. this does really only apply to the EP3 and earlier type Rs as quite honestly the new one is just rediculous, where the EP3 had nothing but a Tacho, a speedo, a fuel gauge and water temp the FN2 has F*cking 2 tonnes of Sat Nav and iPod docks and five times the amount of sound proofing and all that Sh*t, the nice thing about the EP3 is the fact that it's basic, it does what it says on the tin and not much more. good im glad someone stood up for them! theyre personally not the right car for me - but i can appreciate them. good stuff youre enjoying it :)

~300bhp 265lb/ft - enough to scare the passengers - credit to NickVR6 for doing the work.
-
yeah its a std set - you'll need to change the bell housing though - as the vr boxes are slightly different. sure a few people on here have done it though - samg60 being one i think 2nd gear is lovely :) and so is 3rd lol you should change them IMO
-
i do agree here - fitting longer ratios would definitely be worth doing. the car would feel a lot quicker again :)
-
I do, it's called the 1.8T!!!! well hat off to Simon for trying something different. it works.

was in this car at the weekend. only way to describe it - brutal! its bloody fast..... I dont know why more g60s arent turboed like this - certainly no g60s i know of would come close to challenging it. awesome car - was more than i expected - it needs pilots with big balls to drive it the way it demands LOL dont be too worried about bits and bobs that you want to do to it mate - its a great car - and if you need some help doing some major stuff and i can do some of it ill give you a hand. cheers for meeting up and was good to have the curry :D
-
actually while i'm at it - what head gasket and rods are you using?

What difference has fitting the schimmel 263 cams made? Thinking about fitting these too

I'll get some pics up once its washed!! Awesome drive back - Whitby was freezing but loved being back - been 15 years!! Was good to stop in at yours mate and finally meet you - and the green beast I've lusted over for ages! Some very spirited driving (hush hush) :) For those of you who don't know - I've now got NickVR6's supercharged VR6  Thanks to Nick for putting me up at the weekend - totally appreciated - also good to meet Tekara too. Great meeting people and good guys - roadtrip needed! The car is soo nice to drive - and bloody fast - embarassing several more exotic cars on the way home was all my pleasure :) Got plans for the car - nothing too radical though - its a fantastic car both cosmetically and mechanically already to begin with - but the following will be added soon enough; atb diff, ap's up front, vsr, cams (and maybe a BV head), LMs, spal fans, colour coded bits and bobs, arp studs/bolts, lightened flywheel, lighter pulleys, DTA and LOTS of fuel  Sure it won't stop there though. Hot brunette chicks for the passenger seat may start applying today. Pics and updates will follow soon... Andy (above) has bought the G60 now and I'm totally chuffed a mate has it - he's helped me loads in the past with the car so know he'll end up making it the car I wanted originally (damn it!!) - only 5 mins away so I'll still see it (hopefully) a fair bit which will be weird but all good :D -

Cheers mate - you'll be seeing it in a few days! :D It will be a very sad day - I love this car - a lot of time and money has gone into it - but the buyer will certainly look after it I know that. The replacement should be all good too... -

pending payment :( :) replacement being picked up in 2 days  -
Yup and not cheap from my "Mini" source either (Guy who works at Cowley).. He can't actually get them for his Mini as they are special order..he did offer me 18" Cooper Works wheels though.. hmmm You wont get them cheap anywhere unless you get a second hand set. if you want them in the correct fitting - you'll be looking at 2k+ i think after shipping. you may need spacers and of course tyres. The price is not for the faint hearted!!!
-
I'm thinking of getting LM's in the future. Gwerks I think can sort them out for you. They're not cheap however - you could buy another Corrado for the money.
-
Oh come on. this is another hate thread. we all like corrados - sure. but the ctr is not as bad as most of you are making out. it may not be our/your preference or suit our driving wants/style - but its not a bad car. many owners love them - as corrado owners love their cars.
-
What kick? I've have driven a couple and all I can percieve 'on the cam' is more noise, more harshness and no appreciable extra urge! As for the sound, to my ears, they just sound like some chav is trying to get 16,000 rpm from his Saxo engine. LOL! Put a k02 in an S1 Exige and it has my attention.
-
driven one - was good fun - but the vtec kick was just a novelty. sounds good though. they're not miles apart performance wise. although good handlers.
-
In summary: - 15" comfy, light, still look good, ease of finding tyres, standard - 17" harder ride, sharper handling, some say look better, potentially heavy and acceleration can suffer - 16" in the middle ** Mod edit - c'mon fella, you know the rules, if you want to sell your car on here please use the classified section like everyone else **
