i dont think people will be bothered - besides who cares - its your car not anyone else's... go and enjoy the show and social side of it.

how did you attach your radiator fan to the radiator?

Whats a ball park figure to get an engine bored out?

What do you want the car for? It all comes down to what you want it for - and what you'd be most happiest with. You're doing major work and spending lots of money either way. So be sure you know the answer to that lot first! -

fair enough bud. why don't you turbo a g60 engine if you want to do something a bit more different? junkie and _monkey_ have done that and both their cars are nuts A 2L 16Vg60 has to be very very expensive. not sure it'd be worth doing tbh when theres more powerful engines available for less -

I meant its possible to improve the flow and valve sizes of a 16v head as well as the 8v head - therefore if you want a fair comparison it should be done between a BV 8 and 16v head and then what about the 20v head? -
admitedly having the in and outlets on the RHS help a little... junkie - can't see you getting things arranged better than that tbh. was that taken recently or when new? its very clean and shiny! alternator looks brand new - as does the filter, pipework, fan etc etc... OT: few queries - 1) what battery terminals and cables are those - planning on relocating mine to the boot - partly due to the 1.8T change - want the air feed where the battery is. 2) what intercooler did you fit? The Pro one Jabba sells? 3) whats the blue pipe off the oil/water exchange unit? 4) using the radiator cowl apparently draws more air through the fan. Doing mine at the moment and the fan sits inside the cowl so barely takes any more space. now one of you get some bloody videos up!!! EDIT: to both of you - how much oil do you go through?
-
i was having a look at the engine bay shot - and at the pipework. you could move the battery to the boot and run an air feed down where the battery tray was. i'm guessing you've got an oil cooler down there too - but it shouldn't make much of a difference. you'd certainly reduce the pipework to the turbo this way
-
how does it feel just now then?

why not vs a fully worked over 16v head? its not a realistic comparison when you can get both -
surely every engine has it common faults. i think quite a few issues on that list can be resolved by replacing std parts with more robust items. when i think of the issues i've had with G60s...

Reliable's a stretch to far!!! I'll never have anything with a 20V again, rough, nasty engine note, no top end power. Very overrated.[/quote:b4358] why is reliable a stretch too far? i know a few people with the conversions done and not one of them has a complaint - if anything its the mapping thats causing a few issues not the engine itself
-
I think the mod is being fair tbh.

theres not a huge amount of info on this forum about them. go to http://www.dubforce.net and you'll find loads of posts about them. i want one :)
-
whats the general paint condition like on it? mines not great - but then i'm in no rush - it'll get stone chipped etc quickly anyway due to the way/places i drive
-
cant be serious! how did you calculate that?

bell end tbh. have to agree with others - I used to watch it without fail years ago in the days of senna et al - now its pretty weak by comparison. -
can't offer a huge amount here - but I helped a friend in his westfield map the fuel table in Mega Squirt on a live run (great fun!). the figures we ended up with to get the mixture about right were considerably lower than what we started out with. junkie - i'm getting the exact same issue with my cold starts - every morning if the temp has dropped a bit (lets not forget i live in scotland...) - its a pita.

well moving to edinburgh within a week, off to moldova for a quick trip next friday, start the new job 2 days once i'm back, skint and no-one from here is going to my knowledge. may change as i want to meet up with folks (like yourself) - so just staying flexible for the moment. being in a high powered corrado will kill me until i do more to mine though lol will try mate.
