  1. Can I assume the Fidanza VR item can't be used with the G60? (I don't know what the differences between the flywheels are)
  2. http://www.stroevemotorsport.nl/ - assume they'll send out to the UK. Maybe set up a feeler for a Group Buy (now that you're sorted for brakes ;))
  3. that is actually a good help thanks - might be able to find someone else who could adapt the linkage (I don't know how to!). Getting a longer gearstick - would any of the Golfs (Mk3?) have a longer stick?
  4. I've not seen one of those in a Corrado before - although positive I've read someone on here (maybe BigTartanJudge?) fitting one. Look to be in the right position from a Golf pic I've just found - look bizarre though with that base Any body tried one?
  5. That'd be another inch lower than I want! LOL! I want the throw shortened - seemingly modifying the linkage will do this - and a longer stick so its closer to the wheel. I've done some reading on the short shift kits a few have tried, and no-one seemed to look favourably on them. you changed your name to junkie?
  6. Prefer the 5 spokes myself. What offset did you have to get on your 16"s? 304mm is plenty for me. Would like 15" although concerned about how rigid the sidewall will be. Priced up R888s and for 16" they only do a 205/55/16 tyre which isn't great and they're also bloody expensive. So maybe 15" is best who knows
  7. Not to be confused with a lightened G60 flywheel - Fidanza don't seem to do them. ATP do - http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merch ... y_Code=BCS Anyone got one to vouch for the quality? Come with good (maybe ARP) bolts? The ATP one is 10lbs - does anyone know what the weight of the standard G60 flywheel is? Thanks :)
  8. I've been having a scout about while thinking what to do - 1.8T/bore out the PG/change the g60 for a turbo... And I've come across this during some random reading: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/merch ... y_Code=BCS Basically a turbo kit from ATP. Seems a good bit cheaper than the Jabbasport kit. Granted a different turbo which will be a large part of the cost difference. Not sure if any of the bits are for left hand drive cars either. Curious to know more about it - has anyone ever looked into it? I was also trying to find out more about the Rotrex chargers - theres loads of info about them for VR6's - but nothing for G60s. Again, has anyone looked into this in the past?
  9. Does anyone know whether its possible to change the gearstick to a slightly longer one from another car? Two things I want to do: 1) Shorten the throw - H8RRA off here was offering this service - but seems to have stopped - anyone else? 2) Get a longer gear stick - its an inch lower that I'd like it Any help - as always - appreciated :)
  10. Did you get one in the end? Seen a few pictures of the Trimsport brace. Looks nice - but very big! I've since seen a few carbon fibre rear braces (e.g. http://www.umnitza.com/product_info.php?products_id=312) but not for the Corrado. Still looking for a set - anyone got some recently (within the last 12 months)?
  11. The only plan is you want a fast corrado does it matter how you get in on the action???? Just cost, effort and time... Its taken long enough to get where I am now! Once a garage is sought, it'll pick up... Still want a ride in yours - what shows are you going to this year?
  12. shouldnt yours feel like a bloody rocket?
  13. are you laquering all of the painted parts?
  14. JMC has got the 16" 5 spokes - they look great
  15. I've got a spare G60 power steering pump - what have you got?
  16. LOL! I'm not the one calculating the numbers at the moment ;) After you see a few people getting such good performance from the Corrado - its hard not to want some of it too. My problem to date has always been jumping from one idea to another and not settling on a plan. So sticking to sorting the brakes, handling and cooling for now, then can go either way. Am in a mixed opinion on engine choice - but once I move and get garage space - I'll be itching to get an engine sorted of some kind... Its great to read about others doing major work though - always SO much more interesting than knackered water pumps etc... And you've done a lot to yours in quite a short space of time. Lots of people say the 1.8T is soulless - I can see why - but after being out in car with one - I wanted one!!
  17. totally agree - so maybe best not going there ;) i was going to 1.9 the PG engine and fit a different head - keeping the g-lader. In the middle of sorting the handling and braking out after that track session (dying to get back out there) - afterwards the gearbox. But doing more to the power will come soon enough. I want to keep the original engine and increase the capacity, head already fitted, perhaps change to a larger charger (need to read up on rotrex chargers) or to a turbo. But theres a part of me that saying whats the point when people are getting 280bhp and around similar torque after some mapping using the BAM engine. I'm thinking maintenance costs and future upgrade potential. I'm exactly like yourself, I struggle to let myself sell the car as I just love to keep working on it - I'd get bored quickly otherwise... EDIT - theres a contradiction in the above - but looking at the costs/effort - I'm finding it hard to justify staying with the original engine long term. I was on track in a 1.8T golf and I don't agree with the souless engine comments - his golf was quick and i was left quite impressed.
  18. And after reading about this (and thinking about it time and time again myself) - why not just fit a BAM 1.8T and have potentially more power from a standard engine? The end cost can't be too far apart.
  19. wheels are the next problem... sure you can get some 5 spoked mo's to fit the Ap's...
  20. surely there comes a point though that the handling/driveability is compromised by having so much power! i'd say you've plenty! spend turbo money on driving instructor sessions/trackdays instead and use the power...
  21. its pretty ugly if you ask me... sorry Riley. was never a fan over bmw and audi offerings
  22. The 2 piece AP discs seem the best ones to get after the Seat ones have gone. But at the price stated, I may just sell the Brembos before fitting and buy the APs (once the flat has sold in a few weeks!) - which was my original plan
