    How fast

924/944s - beaten both various BMWs - beaten old and new - last one was a 535 on a disused air strip, we were level till 140 until we realised we werent passing each other. beaten several chav incarnations/hot hatches/calibra-esques... civic type r - tried a few of these and have noticed thats theres little between my g60 and a type r - they do pull away, but not by that much. struggled with clio 182s/ibiza cupra rs - either beaten or level scooby's beat me everytime also been beaten by a vr6! but i was sightseeing so let him ;) haha
  3. was close by there earlier today - on the way to glenshee.
  4. try searching for boost AND return and you'll come across lots of entries. but i have read that people fit piping to the TB and route it down under the car - so its not releasing against the bulkhead
  5. ahh thanks for that. Yes I definately don't have that snorkel. Interesting to read about the drilled airbox - tbh I haven't noticed any difference going from the drilled to undrilled. I'll be sorting the cold air feed through the carbon cannister hole this xmas anyway. coullstar help appreciated mate. where in bonnie scotland are you?
  6. i took it that you'd reduce the hole - not cover it 100% ;) what do these snorkels look like anyway? never seen one
  7. right you are :) First one I had got destroyed. Yes I got frustrated. Second, I endured the process of undoing the corners bolts. 3rd time = rsr.
  8. you need 2 wobble joints to get at it - but you can try and undo the 4 bolts on the corners of the box first.
  9. coullstar Yes I should try and find a snorkel then to see if thats helps - at the moment the noice is ridiculous. Neil G60 Thanks mate :) I do like the standards yeah - they look great when the car is all clean. But I would eventually like other wheels - I really like the 16" Keskins that Furki on here and also the 15" Schmidt Modernlines G-Lader used to have on his. I would be also be happy with some RX2's! lol
  10. damn it i must have been exhausted when i posted last night! i meant that since i have replaced a drilled out box with an undrilled out box, the noise has been immense. Its easy to tell its coming from the airbox - you can locate the 'roar' just by standing in front and yanking on the throttle cable! Its too much for an old cobbler like me ;) and want things a little quieter... yep youre now famous mate :)
  11. yep I do love the black Corrados :) Would like some nice wheels myself. and some brembos. oops what did i just say?! lol ;)
  12. thanks mate - no got a 'hole-less' airbox - just i think that with the combination of a k&n and no snorkel is very very loud. its only been this loud since i got rid of the airbox that had holes in it....
  13. one thing I noticed now getting an airbox that someone hasn't drilled out holes in - with a k&n and the snorkel removed, the noise is deafening. would a std panel filter from VW cure this? And is decent enough to use? What else would be suggested?
  14. my car, Joe M's, andycowuk's in the summer :) we have some nice roads up here!
  15. well tons has been spent on this car since the last post. fixed: - all engine mounts - rustless! bodywork is now ALL good - horn - wheels all cleaned up - supercharger service - boost return removal (catch tank v v soon) - rsr - vw mats - new lights - supersprint exhaust with polyflex bungees (soo much better) - mk 4 rears - parcel shelf - bosch battery - supersprint 4 branch heatwrapped - fixed damn water leak! - 'unique' boost gauge setup - soon to be sorted into ash tray slot - several services - probably more... future: - eagle f1s - oil cooler - gauge/air+fuel guages - new locks - new sparks - posh catch tank - heater (yes the bugger is having a laugh) - cold air feed through brake duct - badgeless grill - several minor details - bonnet underside/rocker cover painted and foam replaced - new distributor and alternator - tune + check sensors, fuel pumps etc etc Its slowly coming along! When the final paintwork is sorted I'll throw up some pics. Whats better: 1) Once all this is done - fit a larger intercooler (want to retain OEM look not use a 3rd party bumper)? 2) or get porting done (std charger, TB, inlet, head - already have a supersprint 4 branch fitted)? I would prefer to get this lot done before I would chip and pulley... Opinions welcome :)
  16. he needs to know how to do it ;)

    Handbrake is bent

I also have this same problem. its not loose at all - just bent (over to drivers side). the center tunnel is also sitting squint as a result.
  18. ok it works then :) friend set up the timing a few weeks ago and it was plain as day it made a difference when this sensor was out. cheers!
  19. yeah its the fact thats its 220x60x50 cms - its over the dimension restrictions that some couriers use. See i'm selling the bumper for 30 quid - theres almost no point in asking for more just to send it! Will check out the others - cheers!
  20. Ok tried about 5 couriers to use to send a rear bumper to someone on here: - UPS - DHL - Parcel2Go - TNT - Securicor All are £52 to £225! Can anyone suggest a courier they have used or know of that aren't soo expensive?
