what et is the corrado meant to have on it?
-
here you go, amazing what a quick clean does.
-
once i got them off the car at the scrappy (30 mins to get them all off without the locking bolt key  ) and got them home i gave them a damn good clean up and they look great, one of them has a bit of curbing and a tiny flat spot on the inside rim but i have been told this should only cost about 25quid to sort out, all the centre caps are immaculate and i found the cap bolt key in the glove box. i will probably end up keeping them as winter wheels and just use the RM's for shows or good weather depending on what they look like fitted.
-
cheers i dont really want them for the looks TBH they are just a temporary measure while the RM's are being done, i will probably sell them on once i have finnished with them.
-
i was after some wheels to put on the car while my RM's are being re-conditioned and i have found a set of 15" azev A's going for 100 quid, i dont want to go any bigger than 15's but will they fit on a g60 ? i have heard there are clearance issues with vr's, but not heard anything about problems with a g60. they are off an older 3 series beemer with an offset of et 30 i think so will i need 5mm spacers? they are in really good condition are they worth 100 quid?

have you ever tried goats milk? my brother suffered from asthma for years when he was a kid, until my parents bought a milking goat for the farm, after drinking goats milk daily he didnt have a single asthma attack until the goat died, he then started having asthma attacks again, this was before goats milk was readilly availiable in supermarkets, my parents discussed the goats milk thing with my brothers gp and he said it was known to help asthma. -
like this one clicky they do them in clear lexan and solid white abs.

undertaking (passing on the left) IS actually legal in the uk but in most cases is seen as dangerous or careless driving. this was posted up recently. middle lane morons

is there a slack clunky feeling when coming on and off the power at all? or any creaking? mine was starting to judder and felt quite slack and it turned out to be knackered clutch damper springs. like this
-
theres a few bits. Give time tho. Think its actually paint they use on plastic. Think only ABS can be properly chromed. I'm not sure, but I have a mate who makes paintball guns and he said he could chrome any plastic bits I have.. so worth a thought! :) hmm could be handy for having headlight backings re-chromed???

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive January 06]
coolrado replied to bristolbaron's topic in General Car Chat
saw 2 in john roberts in llay this morning when i dropped the van off for its service, a dark possibly black g60 with rm's up on the ramps and a purple vr6 M660*** i think. -
i just improved their site for them here you go
-
on mine i just connected the spare output from the alarm to a normal central locking solenoid which just opens the catch on the boot. then all you need to do is double press the small button on the remote to open the boot. not sure if the autowatch has the same output?

i do have a power cap but they dont reduce drain on the battery all they do is smooth out the peaks in power drain when running a large amp and sub. it would probably be worth getting an optima or maybe a second battery and split charge system if you intend to run it for long periods without the engine running, as when i was at e38 my battery went flat after running the tv and ps2 quite a lot during the day (thanks to whoever gave me a jump start i cant remember who it was) i bought the small ps2 as the laser gave up on my old larger one, and the small ones dont have a fan, so dont need as much space for cooling, i will need to find somewhere else to fit it now though as i just bought a pioneer navi drive to fit in the glove box.

my 1:43 shabak g60 has a tiny g60 badge on the grill so the larger 1:18 scale model should certainly have a readable badge. it is quite strange that there isnt a vr6 listed though? they might release others though depending on the popularity of them. my shabak model also seems to have had an engine transplant as it appears to have a 16v engine too

did someone mention my username? yeah if you have the older large ps2 you will need to find somewhere to hide it, either under the undertray in the passenger footwell on a bracket or in a seperate enclosure in the boot, there was a company making metal enclosures that you could mount into a false floor (might have been bigcattech.com) and you will either need to mod the power supply in the ps2 or get a 12v dc to 240v ac invertor you will also need extension cables for the controllers or wireless control pads(the new madcatz micro wireless pads are very good availiable in asda cheaper than most places) if you have a new small ps2 you can mount it in the glove box and all you will need is a power adapter (mine is a bigcattech one but i think joytech now make them) as it needs 8.5 v dc at about 6amps it would probably work out cheaper to buy a new small ps2 than to get all the bits to make an old model fit and work properly. and whichever one you choose make sure you get a decent av lead for the ps2 as the cheap ones have a big problem with cross talk between the video and audio signals which seems to show up a lot more in in-car applications. i am currently looking into ways to run an x-box 360 in the car, but trying to find the pinouts for the pioneers rgb connection is quite difficult.

the aircon compressor is also on an electromagnetic clutch so it wont be running if i need the performance. i just cant wait til mine is gassed up and running for the summer 8)

to be honest if i could have afforded alpine i would have got alpine but the similar unit cost about 300 pound more than the pioneer when i bought it. a couple of mates of mine have alpine head units and to be honest they do sound better, not as many features but thats not allways a bad thing it usually just means the sound is less processed. most alpines have the option to turn off the internal amplifier when using external amplifiers which imroves the sound at high levels. a friend of mine manages the audio counter in chester halfords and said that early flip front pioneers did have problems with the face mechanisms (usually caused by heavy handed people trying to remove the face off while its moving) but the newer models seem to be very reliable, the most reliable units they sell are the alpines and the worst are the jvc's and surprisingly clarion.

i dont think he had too much choice really, i would have made them pay one way or the other
-
the guy who owned it is me, and the only stops the manager pulled out was getting a cheque signed by the head office which took a 10 minute phone call, it also cost the prat who screwed it up his job as it wasnt the first time he had damaged a customers car, i organised everything else, i just didnt trust them to sort it out. like i said the biggest mistake they usually make is not fitting the lower trim before the sealant sets so the whole screen drops.
-
i thought the vw transporter flip keys had the correct profile, AH isnt it, so no need for cutting and splicing your old key blade in.
-
if you mean RAC auto windscreens i would read this first. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 64&start=0 i think autoglass would be the better option. if you can, be there while they fit it as there have been a few reports of bodged screens on corrado's, they really arent that difficult if done the correct way, you need to make sure they put the lower plastic trim on before the adhesive sets as this stops the screen dropping down and leaving a gap around the top.

i have a pioneer screen with the hide away tv tuner and amplified diversity aerials and the reception is pretty damn good in most places. i also have one of these in car digi box for digital tv but you will need an in line battery powered amplifier from maplin for 9 quid (same one they sell on e-bay for 20 quid), there is also a bosch amplified tv aerial availiable which looks the same as the standard vw aerial and even works quite well on the move which is quite handy for the digital radio stations.

Multiple keys. Can i fix my door handles so i can have 1 key
coolrado replied to quicky1980's topic in Interior
yep its just a case of taking the handles off, un-clipping the the circlip at the back of the barrel, sliding the barrel out (i think the key needs to be in to withdraw the barrel), and then take the key out and take out all of the flat plates (carefull not to loose the springs), then put each plate back in and put the new key in and check the plate sits flush with the outside of the barrel (will take a bit of trial and error to get them to all line up) you may need to get some spare plates if you dont have the correct ones, they are the same plates in a mk2 but you may still be able to get them from vw. -
i have an external aerial for my tomtom go300 now so its going to be mounted in the lower centre dash cubby hole in a piece of 10mm thick alluminium. they do look better mounted lower down but it also means your eye's are diverted from the road more than they need to be, at least when its stuck on the screen it in your field of vision.
