  4. cheers i will have another search on the forum im sure i saw the values somewhere. 6 pints in 2 hours and you can still type properly............. i must be a real lightweight i start sluring when i type after 3
  5. i might be wrong but some cd changers are digital audio outputs in the multicable and sony ones are usually seperate analogue phono outputs dont know much about the phillips changer though. if thats the case its quite unlikely that an adapter is availiable.
  6. cheers henny can usually rely on you for an answer :) will get a blue one on order asap when i got the black sensor it didnt come with an o ring seal and the old one seems to leak a little overnight will try and sort that out tomorrow could that cause any probs? any idea what values the sensor should read (ohms) i saw j dub at chester by the way looking good 8) had a quick look for you, tempest said you around somewhere but i had to leave as i was boiling my ar*e off
  7. just replaced the black temp sensor on my g60 as the gauge died :( which sorted the gauge out 8) but the next day it took ages to get started :( ??? turned over fine but did not fire very well it would run for a couple of seconds then splutter and stop, and as soon as i gave it any throttle it would die, eventually started, and after about 20 secs of running it was fine and runs perfectly it starts easily when its allready warmed up though any ideas anyone ? seems like one thing after another with this car but its fun when its going.
  8. had the uniroyal rainsports on my c when i bought it and they where bl**dy scary in the wet or dry used to break away with little warning, but they where hard wearing :) had the toyos on my mr2 and they transformed the handling and recently had them fitted on the c i can take a corner at 15mph quicker with absolutely no squeel or loss of grip and definately feel better in the wet too, but they do wear out very quickly :( if they are good enough for tvr to fit as standard they are good enough for me 8)
  9. also try and do it somewhere protected from the wind preferably inside some where with ventilation, it also stops insects landing on the fresh paint (i dont know why but fresh paint is like a magnet to midges and greenfly)

    Hmmmm

i thought this was a joke article at first  A motor enthusiast has spent five times as much on modifications to his car as the vehicle cost him in an attempt to make it "the best-looking car in the country". ................why???????? why has he spent so much when all he needed to improve the looks of his corsa was a can of petrol and a match  quote "I do have to admit that I probably have more money than sense and I expect I will end up spending even more on my car in the future." so he's got about 2p then  maybee this article needs to re-written as : some chav has wasted his mcdonalds wages on a heap of cr*p in an attempt to make it look like a bigger heap of cr*p

    2.0 8v Vs 2.9 VR6

my g60 can do 45mpg from manchester to birmingham at a steady 70mph if your not flooring it all the time it is essentially the same as the 1.8 8v but with the power when you need it :D my first "car" if you can call it that was a bond bug with a 700cc engine and was made of fibre glass you could lift the back up with one hand but you would still be lucky to get 28mpg  out of it when it was running perfectly :( heavier cars like the corrado benefit from having more power as the engine is not under as much strain and if you take it easy they return quite a healthy mpg figure if you want real fuel economy buy a smart car or one of those audis from top gear the other week
  15. yep also handy for making cheese toasties
  16. hmmmm relays going mad.... where the dials dipping :?: might have a dodgy earth somewhere check the main earth straps from the battery to chassis chassis to engine etc. take each one off and give the contact surfaces a good rubbing down till they are shiney
  17. does it splutter/idle erratically before it cuts out or is it sudden :?:
  18. sounds like something from wacky races dick dastardly style  my mr2 used to have an oil slick defence system (leaky sump) :) and my mate has a golf with a smoke screen (knackered rings)
  19. fill the car with sand bags that should lower it by 40 mm
  20. what alarm/imob is it :?: it could be that the ignition signal to the immobiliser is disconnected and the immobiliser is re-arming because it thinks the ignition is off i have seen this happen once with an old microscan
  21. my mr2 had the battery in the boot ..................(but then again so was the engine)

    timing

1.8 16V don't have a lambda sensor (or cat) dont really know much about valvers (didnt really know much about g60's untill i started using this forum) just thought it might be worth mentioning in case there was a dodgy sensor or broken wire that could have been causing it
  23. sent my donation the forum has saved me a lot more than a fiver and ive only been using it for a couple of months 8)
