i had a front spring snap on my old mr2 it turned out to be caused by a seized top mount bearing so the spring was twisting as i was steering.

Corrado in Storage for a year or two?
coolrado replied to Ice White Socks's topic in General Car Chat
if you are going to store it long term give it a good clean up first, waxoil the chassis, give all the rubber bits a good coat of something like armourall, put a good antifreeze/corosion inhibiter in the cooling system and lubricate any moving parts hinges linkages ect. at least then if you have to put it in storage it should be ok when you start using it again. does seem a shame not to use it though :( -
erm the clue is in the title "budget" insurance

microsoft autoroute can be used with gps as full navigation i have autoroute 2001 on mine but no gps antenna i have heard that the newer versions of autoroute have a few problems (not showing new roads like the m6toll) but apart from that its quite good

demon tweeks use the airgun for undoing normal bolts they use a spider wheel brace for the locking bolts and use an air ratchet set on a very low torque just to spin the bolts up then use a torque wrench to finnish them off thats how they should be done. i had to call the AA out once because some cowboy garage who did my tyres tightened the wheels up so much with the air gun, that i snapped the standard wheelbrace trying to undo them

interesting that there was no active spoiler on the prototypes i would of thought that it would have been planned from a early stage :? or maybe it was like the tt and they only added because they needed to  i woner where those prototypes are now :?:

overtook a dark green vr6 this morning approaching cheshire oaks on my way to the office waved but no response anyone here??

will you be loosing the back seats as they might be a bit difficult to get to once they are fitted?
-
are you sure that blue arm chair will fit in the c ???
-
Henny my c had two brand new handles fitted just before i bought it and they take very little effort to open (unlike some i have tried) so they dont seem to be under much stress, i only changed to passat ones for the security (i also fitted metal plates above the mech inside the door to prevent the old screwdriver down the back of the handle method) and i have securilux on the glass so thats harder to break too 8) i did find adjusting the striker pins out a little improved the feel of the handles, the catch releases before the handles reach their full extent unlike some i have seen where the adjuster is wound all the way in and the handle only just releases the latch after a lot of effort. im thinking of colour coding the handles as well to make them look a bit more modern
-
cant you just use passat front handles then with the barrels in?? there is a way of using rear passat handles with your original mechs but it involves removing the roll pin hinge from the handles and swapping the striker arm over its tricky but it can be done
-
looks like all the nice s&s cars where at tatton park then :)
-
there is a white plastic adjuster on the handle mechanism (the bit that touches the mech inside) try unscrewing it a bit so it triggers the mech earlier hth

I'm from Llay! will have a look at what everyone said and you can come and have a look no probs!! Cheers mate! 8) as you are in llay have you thought about taking it to john roberts garage (just down the road from trefn) they are vw specialists and would be able to tell exactly what the problem is and tune it for you i dont think they are too expensive either and quite a cheap place to get vag parts, i could have a look at it for you but i might not be able to find the exact problem just a general idea of wheater its running too rich
-
280 mpg  i gotta get one of them
-
hmm your having problems with poor mpg as well arent you?? over rich mixture maybe sounds like its over fuelling like having the choke on all the time where in wrexham are you i could have a look for you

just got my charger back from g-werks all nice and shiney and fully re-built with plenty of time to spare before tatton park 8) . a massive thanks to darren @ g-werks excellent customer service i only sent it too them on tuesday and it arrived today at 12 8) does it need any running in ???? spent most of the morning gunking the engine bay ready for the charger to go back in, the only problem is the charger is soooo shiney and clean it shows the rest of the engine bay up  would definately use g-werks again :thumbleft:

i just had the same problem it was the black temp sender on mine. odd thing was the blue sender died two days before it  or if the small wire on the guage has been shortened it may affect the accuracy of the guage. either way the temp senders are only cheap it might be worth replacing both anyway if mine is anything to go by :)

try some of the online car audio shops i managed to get my pioneer deh p8400mp for less than half the price halfords wanted  i think it was mcs direct :?: ive also bought bits from hendon car audio and car audio direct very cheap 8) the sound from the pioneer was a vast improvement over the kenwood cd mask i had the kenwood sounded dull and lacked power but the pioneer sounds great and is packed with features and looks 8) you should be able to get something from the upper mid range for that sort of money try getting this months total car audio magazine its got plenty of reviews and is usually un-bias
