Rossco replied to madhatta's topic in Engine Bay
It appears that they are now up to £150 still pretty keen on one tho :-P -
When i took my water pump pulley off i loosened the bolts while the belt was still on, in fact i tightened it a bit one of the bolts was a bitch but i managed to get a pair of vice grips into it. Good luck loon
-
hmmm i thought of that but it only does it in 1st gear, plus the clutch is super fresh as i had the box off 6 months ago and we checked the clutch and it almost brand new, why does a clutch judder? :?:
-
Yep deffo the slave cylinder, been there on that one. You can just on-bolt the selector on the box, one 10 mm and one 13 mm spanner iirc. Its a piece of piss job really and you can get a cylinder from the scrappies offa passat or somethin, i got one for a fiver. Dont forget to bleed it tho :-P

When my car warms up it really doesnt like taking off in first its a full on judder like the ngine is trying to make a break for it, i've changed the front and box mounts so im guessing it must be the other one???? Any advice guys Ta Rossco

Yeh as far as i can figure mine is as well (see harrys 16v bad boy post) It is an amazing colour, its an absolute transformation wen the sun appears(if) And you are all correct wen you say it looks black wen its darker, infact i got a parking ticket the other day and on it the blind bitch put the colour as black, winner  -
Ha ha, i'll get a pic of the steering wheel up soon its an isotta one, i bought it off bigG60 on here, yeh its dropped on coilovers Spec:- H reg 1.8 16v (KR) Mk2 golf inlet manifold(powder coated) Mk2 golf injectors(not in pic, they were braided and looked bling so i chucked them in) Dubweiser power roar pipe Dubweiser rear strut brace Safety devices harnesses Isotta steering wheel Scorpion Twin DTM back box Supersport coilovers 9x16 Borbet A's 8) Chrome rad badge on the back(more bling) Polished battery cover and breather trumpet(trimsport) Pretty much everything that can be changed has been, radiator clutch slave cylinder, gearbox!!!, water pump, waterpump pulley. When you re-filled the system did you put the heater to hot, if you didnt do this it will do pretty much wot your describing because you create an air lock(or something like that) happend to mine so i know wot your on about

In that case you boys should come live in aberdeen theres tons of the atractive wee bastards up here, even still people give the cars a few second looks wen you drive past, i guess they dont figure that VW could make such a smart looking car. I've been pulled over by the coppers once just cos they wanted to know wot kind of car it was. Interesting like Rossco
-
There you go struan a unanimous decision  Nah seriously let the dealer headache over it and at 123 notes its a pretty good deal, was that the main speccy cars yeh???
-
Yeh i think an oil change in the box might be a winner plan, you dont rekon its anythin to worry about? I rekon i might have to go change the other engine mount, is it a total bitch? I've noticed it was more expensive than the other ones, i bloody knew id have to for out for a new on, typical corrado eh
-
Right heres one for you boys, recently my car feels like its been tryin to launch the engine out of the engine bay, it only happens in first gear when tryin to take off not if your rollin and it doesnt happen in reverse either?!?!?! So i changes the box mount and the engine mount is relatively fresh(about 6 months) but its still doin it so i thought i would investigate the nick of the box, i know the clutch is super fresh by the way, went to look at the oil by removing the filler plug(checkin if it was full or not) and something that barely resembled oil came out in fact the stull on the filler plug looked like this mayo you always assosiate with head gasket failure which is water mixing with oil, how in the name of god could this be happening in the gear box????? Could it just be well abused gear oil ran the course of its life?? Any ideas guys?

£123 fitted is a pretty good deal i would say bud, when i got my car one of the cables was help together by gardening twine  So i decided to change them, i got another set off a passat at the scrappies cos its all the same. The main bastard in changing them is that you have to drop the middle section of your zorst, I would personally say just let the dealer do it, your gonna get brand new cables and not have to worry about puttin them in. Do it Rossco

Im gettin quite a lot of vibration through my clutch pedal, its always about 2000-3000 revs if i just push on the pedal slightly then there is a lot of vibration, its obviously engine vibraion cos it come and goes wi the engine revs but i was just wonderin wot it could be cant be anythin to do wi the clutch and shit cos the clutch is hydraulic so vibrations shouldnt travel through that Its a 1.8 16v any ideas welcome Rossco

Cheers, go on the 16 valvers

Sweet where abouts exactly is this wee bad boy and wot the hell does it look like?
-
I've done it, bloody ace wen 5000rpm comes along like a wee mini turbo only a whol eheao cheaper and not as ace obviously, but yeh its a pretty easy job like, hardest part was pullin the injectors out of the old manifold. I gather you've got new injector seals????
-
Hmm yeh that would make some sense eh? Always meant to get round to that one
-
Well the latest on the love affair is that they have broken up :( , Bad day for them, good day for me. I jacked the car up both back wheels were spinnin, chucked on some WD40 just to be sure, drove to college and there was no stinky smells and no roastin calipers. All good you say, well yes but my handbrake has a lot of slack in it, could it just be that my cables have streched?
-
Hmmm mines is -120mm at the back, might have to get into this one
